Kieran's POV
The Great Hall of the Shadowfang Pack house hummed with anxiety. Twenty Alpha werewolves sat around the massive wood table, their eyes wary and their wolves restless. I stood at the head of the table, trying to look calm even though my wolf paced inside me, eager for a fight.
"Thank you all for coming," I said, my voice carrying across the room. "It's been fifty years since this many pack leaders gathered in one place."
And with good reason. Wolves were protective by nature. Having this many Alphas in one room was like storing dynamite next to a campfire—one wrong move and everything would blow.
Alpha Marcus Torres of the Red Mountain Pack snorted. "Get to the point, Wolfe. Why are we here?"
I met his eyes without flinching. Since the fight at the Gate three weeks ago, things had changed. I was changed. The blood rage curse was gone, but my memories of how it happened were hazy. All I knew was that the Ruby Wolf—Sienna—had somehow saved us all.
