Chapter 478 - Chapter 478: Time-based Magic

Now, looking at Roa and the group, Lineana suddenly understood.

"So that's it, meow. It seems these two are already your people. Since they're your people, Boss, then there's nothing I can do, meow."

Lineana said this, but her gaze was still fixed on Est, her red beast-like eyes rolling, as if she was thinking of some mischief. It was clear she wasn't as accepting as she claimed.

Roa saw Lineana's expression but didn't say anything. If Lineana really wanted to cause trouble for Est, she would undoubtedly get a beating.

With Lineana's mediocre skills, there was no way she could be a match for Est, so Roa didn't need to worry about it.

After getting the clothes, Roa waved at the two, signaling them to leave quickly.

Lineana pouted, wanting to complain.

But Pursena pushed Lineana aside, stood in front of Roa, and stretched out a hand, waving it.

The girl wagged her tail, her furry ears drooping, and looked at Roa with seemingly unintelligent eyes. Pursena said in a pitiful voice, "Boss, I'm hungry."

Roa was stunned for a moment, his expression a bit strange as he took out the Depiction of Nature and Society and pulled out a few packaged snacks, placing them in Pursena's hand.

"Here you go."

Pursena, having received the food, smiled happily, her tail wagging unconsciously, looking extremely cute.

Lineana, seeing Pursena's unambitious appearance, gritted her teeth in frustration.

But Pursena happily took the food, a silly smile on her face.

Lineana couldn't bear to look, her face dark as she dragged Pursena away, waving to Roa behind her, "Boss, the stuff has been delivered, so I'll be leaving now."

After saying this, she walked away without looking back. Pursena, being dragged by Lineana, didn't resist. She skillfully tore open the packaging and poured the contents into her mouth, chewing.

Roa watched the two leave, his mouth twitching.

Well, at least the stuff has been delivered.

Handing the two school uniforms to Est and Restia, Roa closed the door and led them to the living room.

Shoes, underwear, skirt, shirt, and brown stockings.

The clothes were of high quality, as expected from the top university in this world.

However, the underwear wasn't particularly attractive, as they were all a bit small.

But the brown stockings caught Roa's eye.

He had a feeling that the two would look great in this uniform.

Without hesitation, Roa said to the two, "Try them on. If they don't fit, I'll get you another set."

The clothes fit perfectly, as Roa knew their sizes well. He said this purely to have an excuse to admire them openly.

Est didn't suspect anything and started changing right away.

Restia hesitated for a moment, but considering what Roa had done before, she thought he had already seen everything. Though she was still a bit shy, she started removing her black evening dress in front of Roa.

The sound of rustling clothes filled the room, and Roa watched intently.

Restia snorted in dissatisfaction and turned her back to Roa.

Even so, Roa had a feast for his eyes.

Her snow-white skin was delicate and smooth, like milk. Her figure wasn't particularly impressive, but her petite body exuded a youthful allure.

The two changed quickly, and in Roa's reluctant gaze, they were fully dressed in no time.

They wore white school shirts, and through the white fabric, the styles of their underwear were visible—Est's was white, while Restia's was black with lace.

They wore brown and white school jackets over their shirts.

The jackets had the school emblem embroidered on the chest. The brown-themed clothes wrapped around their bodies, and once the jackets were on, the previous hint of exposure disappeared completely.

Below, they wore white skirts that didn't reach their knees, revealing their snow-white thighs with every movement.

Under the skirts were their long, slender legs, clad in white knee-high socks and long boots. It might have been an illusion, but when they wore these boots, Roa noticed they seemed a bit taller.

Clearly, the boots had something like insoles inside.

Compared to the tsundere loli, Restia had much more personality. No matter what she wore, she exuded a calm, noble elegance, like a noble lady, graceful and polite.

Looking at Est and Restia, Roa marveled.

Their outfits reminded Roa of their academy life in the Bladedance world. Back then, they wore similar uniforms, looking youthful and lively, full of the energy of student life.

"I can already imagine that in a while, you two will become the focus of the school."

Roa didn't hold back his praise, speaking from the heart.

Both Est and Restia had their own distinct features, and it was these features that would make them popular even in the academy.

Although Est and Restia's figures weren't particularly impressive, as the saying goes, different strokes for different folks.

Even in niche circles, the two were undoubtedly ahead of the pack.

After the two finished adjusting their clothes, Roa filled out the forms. Once stamped, they would be officially enrolled.

The next morning, after Roa gave the two spirits a brief tour of the academy, he started letting them roam freely.

He had already infused them with a large amount of divine power, giving them enough energy to move around freely. Roa then went to the student council to oversee Lineana and Pursena's work.

Lineana lazily lay on a chair, arms crossed, her red beast-like eyes gazing into the distance, lost in thought.

When the door clicked shut, she was startled and quickly put her legs down, stood up, pushed the chair back into place, and turned around, trying to look as if nothing had happened.

When Roa approached, he saw Lineana sitting upright and Pursena stifling a laugh beside her.

Giving them a strange look, he went to the desk, pulled out the chair, and sat down, feeling the residual warmth.

Seeing Roa look over, Lineana immediately put on a somewhat ingratiating expression and said, "Good morning, Boss."

He glanced at the somewhat guilty Lineana, sighed, and didn't say much, simply saying, "You two, find a seat."

Roa took out paper and pen from the drawer, ready to start today's research.

His progress in time-based magic had reached a considerable level.

Roa's talent in developing time-based magic was truly remarkable. Relying on intuition and trial and error, he had already achieved a level that would shock others.

The fusion of Time Zero and Moment was becoming more and more proficient, and the energy consumption of these two spells had decreased significantly.

But this still wasn't enough. In his vision, he could use the magic array he had set up, along with the Time Stop spell, to freeze time at this moment.

In this frozen time, no one could move, and he would be the master of that world.

When Roa entered his work mode, Lineana and Pursena exchanged glances, feeling somewhat bored.

Lineana and Pursena weren't the type to sit still. After a while, they couldn't resist their curiosity and went over to see what Roa was doing.

Of course, they couldn't understand it. How could these two beastmen understand ancient spirit script?

Looking at the intricate magic array, Lineana felt dizzy and had no idea what it meant.

Their level of magic was only at the upper level, so they naturally couldn't understand the emperor-level time-based magic.

After glancing at these two fools, Roa paused for a moment, stopped what he was doing, and casually remarked, "You definitely won't understand this, but I do have some other magic here. Would you like to learn it?"

"Magic? Boss, you know magic too?" Lineana tilted her head in confusion. She had no idea that Roa was also deeply skilled in magic.

In the eyes of most students, they were unaware that Roa's magical prowess was nearing the divine level. They only knew that he had a high level of mastery in swordsmanship.

In this world, even geniuses usually excel in only one field. To simultaneously cultivate both swordsmanship and magic to Roa's level is almost unheard of, except for beings like the Dragon God or the Technique God, ancient entities that have survived to this day.

As the saying goes, a person's energy is ultimately limited. Even Rudeus, who possesses the Laplace Factor, has only reached the saint level in swordsmanship.

To excel in one area, one must inevitably sacrifice talent in another.

This is true even for the talented. The previous Sword Gods of the Holy Land of Swords, in their quest to advance further in swordsmanship, concluded that they had to completely abandon magic, separating mana and Battle Aura into two distinct attributes.

In other words, to make the Sword of Light faster and stronger, they had to ignore mana entirely and focus solely on Battle Aura.

This approach might seem extreme, but it did allow them to progress further in their path. Because of this Sword God's influence, subsequent generations of disciples mostly focused solely on swordsmanship, and very few Sword Gods knew any magic.

Over time, it became ingrained in the worldview of the world's inhabitants that even those at the pinnacle of power would not delve too deeply into unrelated fields of study.

However, Roa is undoubtedly an exception. Facing the puzzled gazes of the two, Roa simply extended a finger. Under their astonished stares, a strange ripple began to emanate from him, spreading outward.

In an instant, they felt their thoughts accelerate, creating a sense of being out of sync with the world.

This was a minor time-based magic that could speed up the flow of time for oneself and the surrounding environment, similar to the effect of Time Zero. The greater the difference in the acceleration ratio and the wider the range, the more mana it consumed.

This was a mid-level magic, consuming a significant amount of mana and having a clear upper limit.

But because it was a time-based magic, it held a special significance. In this world, among opponents of the same level, almost no one could counter this type of magic.

Lineana and Pursena looked as if they had seen a ghost. The acceleration of their thoughts caused their limbs to become uncoordinated, and they nearly stumbled after taking a few steps.

Fortunately, the acceleration wasn't too extreme. After a few steps, they quickly regained control of their bodies and adapted to the new rhythm.

"This is amazing! What kind of magic is this?" Lineana exclaimed with excitement, her eyes shining.

Unlike Pursena, who only studied healing magic, Lineana delved into all types of magic and had some understanding of many advanced spells. This was why she was so astonished by the powerful characteristics of Roa's time-based magic.

Roa smiled, feeling quite satisfied as he looked at their glowing eyes.

He was eager to let them try out the effects of the magic he had created. If it worked well, he could teach it to those around him, and he would be considered a pioneer in the field of time magic.

The incantation for the magic was nothing special, just a simple phrase:

"Believe in my deity, grant me the power to slow all things, reverse the tide! [Time Pause]!"

The incantation was a bridge to communicate with the world, something Roa had pondered over for a long time.

A good incantation could make it easier to cast magic in this world. Roa's magic was difficult to cast, and the biggest challenge was whether one could communicate with the laws of time in this world.

For most people, mastering this would be extremely difficult. But with Roa's guidance, he could imprint fragments of the laws of time onto Lineana and Pursena.

As the saying goes, the first step is the hardest. With Roa's crucial guidance, the two could more easily communicate with the world's laws and resonate with the elements.
