Forget it. He agreed so quickly that her attempt to usurp the throne didn't even feel real.
The Black Dragon Roller Coaster may have been the first obstacle, but it was far from the last.
Yin Jixue hadn't expected the ride she thought would be the safest—the Black Dragon Ship, aka the pirate ship—to turn out this intense.
A normal pirate ship just swings back and forth, maybe 180 degrees. That was so easy for her.
But this Black Dragon Ship? It was next-level ridiculous. Like, absurdity opening the door for absurdity and inviting it home for dinner.
Why did the Black Dragon Ship break free from its support bars and start flying around on its own? Seriously, why?
"I feel like I'm about to fly off! Why does this thing defy all logic?!"
What she wanted to say was that Newton must be spinning in his grave. But then again, this was the Demon Realm, and here, defying science was practically the norm.
If the Demon Clan cared about science, magic crystals wouldn't exist in the first place.
Not only did the Black Dragon Ship rotate 360 degrees, but it was like being tossed into a giant washing machine—spinning at full speed, over and over again.
To make matters worse, it completely detached from its base and spun around freely in the air. A twisted black dragon-shaped boat was just swinging through the air, doing full flips. Yin Jixue had no idea where the "fun" part was supposed to be.
Honestly, if they added this ride to a prison, it could count as torture.
Once again, she was grateful she hadn't eaten anything.
When she finally got off, it was with the Demon King helping her down.
Not because she was scared, but because she was flat-out dizzy.
Yin Jixue began to doubt life: "Do demons really like this ride?"
Lian Ze, shameless as always, shouted, "Again! Let's go again!"
Yin Jixue backed away in terror, afraid he'd drag her on for another round.
After all the madness, she ended up at the Spinning Beasts—she'd already survived two rides designed by sadists, so this one should be a bit relaxing.
She got on what she thought was a carousel. Lou Zhao wanted to ride the same mount, but Yin Jixue mercilessly kicked him off.
Bold now, she said, "You take the one next to me. One each."
At first, the ride seemed normal, which, ironically, made it feel suspicious.
Wait a minute. Why were the beasts running, and not the base rotating?
A closer look confirmed they were modeled after real demon beasts. That calmed her down… for about five seconds.
Then came despair.
Why did they have to make the beasts so realistic?!
Wasn't this supposed to be a carousel? This wasn't galloping into the sunset!
Galloping was one thing, but why were they flying into the sky?! And without seatbelts, no less!
She was terrified. Sure, she wouldn't die, but falling from this height would still hurt like hell.
To make things worse, whatever material these beasts were made from was super smooth. Her dress only made it slipperier. Even hugging the beast's neck didn't help—strong wind from above made it wobble, and she was terrible at balancing.
Give me my money back—I don't want to play anymore.
Yin Jixue had officially given up on life.
There was a thin, invisible thread tethering the beast—like a kite string—letting it float and sway in the sky before it was reeled back in.
Yin Jixue couldn't see the string. She didn't know she had just been a flying kite.
When the beast finally came down and returned to the rotating base, she was all but in tears.
"You knew what this was from the start, didn't you?" she asked Lou Zhao bitterly.
She had foolishly refused to ride with him and ended up panicking alone midair. Thank goodness she'd kept her royal dignity intact.
No matter what, she couldn't lose face. A woman had to be proud.
Lou Zhao confessed honestly, "Yes. I thought you'd be scared. Didn't expect you to be so brave."
Yin Jixue had to swallow her complaints along with her pride. Next life, she swore—never again would she set foot in Black Dragon Amusement Park.
Today, she had gone through every ride pretending to have fun. Her fake smile was frozen stiff.
At least she hadn't lost face as the Princess.
Several Dark Guards looked on in awe.
A changed woman indeed. Never underestimate the Princess after just three days!
The Princess was even stronger than they imagined!
With her watching over Yinchao, their empire could last centuries.
Hands behind her back, Yin Jixue pretended the amusement park hadn't fazed her at all. "These rides are nothing. You'd better train hard while you're in Black Dragon City. Otherwise, how will you protect the Emperor?"
The guards saluted in unison. "At your command, Princess!"
Yin Jixue nodded in satisfaction. "Good. Then stay here for a month. Once you're no longer afraid, let me know."
All four guards turned pale with horror.
"…Do you not want to?" she asked coolly.
They all chorused, "We do!"
Honestly, the rides were insane—but with enough time, even the most inhuman attractions could become tolerable. It didn't exactly break the limits of human endurance.
Take the Black Dragon Roller Coaster—if you liked bungee jumping, you'd probably love it.
Back in the carriage, Yin Jixue finally dropped her act. She sprawled lazily in Lou Zhao's arms.
"Tonight, I'm going full beast mode—I'm sleeping for ten hours straight!"
Lou Zhao blinked. "Why does sleeping in count as beast mode?"
"Don't ask why. I'm just exhausted."
That night, even in her dreams, Yin Jixue was floating. She dreamt she had turned into a feather, drifting endlessly through the sky.
She even kicked the blanket in her sleep from time to time, and Lou Zhao had to keep pulling it back over her.
What kind of dream is she having? Usually, she slept soundly. What was with all the kicking tonight?
Lou Zhao made up his mind to go into her dream and take a look.
Inside her dream, everything was a blinding white. A single feather floated downward, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly.
Every time the feather sped up, Yin Jixue kicked out with her leg. So Lou Zhao grabbed the feather.
Finally, she stopped kicking.
Lou Zhao understood now. She was scared. There were lingering effects from the rides.
The next morning, Yin Jixue woke up full of energy. She recalled dreaming she was a feather, floating endlessly. Every time she was about to fall, that stomach-dropping sensation hit her, causing her to reflexively kick.
But in the end, she landed safely in a pair of broad, warm hands. After that, the nightmare didn't return.
She told Tiesheng about her idea—designing a shock-absorbing car that could seat six people, like a family vehicle.
Tiesheng asked, "But if all demons buy cars, won't the buses go empty?"
Yin Jixue smiled and shook her head. "Unlikely. Like you said—if. Even if they do buy cars, who's going to drive them inside the city?"
Tiesheng thought about it. That was true.
Still, having a family car would make future trips to places like Black Dragon Bay or Black Dragon Ridge much more convenient.
He didn't even have a wife yet, but he was already daydreaming about future road trips with his wife and kids.
After Tiesheng left the palace, a guard arrived to report something.
Yin Jixue groaned. "The Xuanwu Demon Lord is here? Where's the Demon King? Send him out first—I'll come later."
The Xuanwu Demon Lord probably wasn't even here for her. Since he was a noble guest, she needed to go change into formal attire.
Lou Zhao was tending to his garden, which had turned into a vegetable patch. But Yin Jixue had given him a new plot and plenty of flower seeds.
Hearing the guard's report, he muttered, "What's that old turtle doing here?"
From the Foreign Affairs Office, Lou Zhao's exaggerated voice rang out:
"You're asking us to build roads for the Xuanwu Clan? Nope. That's not my call—you'll have to ask my Queen."
