Chapter 246 - Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [246]

"Sons of Sanguinius! Counterattack! Now is the time!" Chapter Master Dante seized the moment, rallying his warriors.

"For the holy blood of Sanguinius!"

"Attack! For Sanguinius—kill these bugs!" the Blood Angels and Allies all shouted.

They didn't know where these unfamiliar Space Marines came from, but the Aquila on their armor marked them as Imperial. That was enough—it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to strike back!

Blue lights kept streaking down from the sky. Each flash brought hundreds of towering Space Marines to the field.

These giants were unimaginably strong and fast. Dante watched as a 3-meter-tall Marine effortlessly sliced a Hive Tyrant in two and took its head.

Two Marines easily chopped an Executioner into pieces; lesser bugs couldn't last a round against them.

"The Primarch commands: kill all the bugs. Leave none alive."

"This is an honorable battle—let the Primarch witness our strength!"

"Kill! Kill!"

Every swing of their chainswords reaped masses of lesser bugs, unstoppable. Their armor was incredibly tough—Tyranid weapons and bio-guns couldn't even scratch them.

Dante had no doubt their armor was at least as good as the best Terminator suits.

Besides the towering Marines, another force appeared: women clad in black power armor, only a little shorter than the Marines, stormed into battle.

Dante squinted—these were Battle Sisters, but since when did they have such terrifying combat ability? They fought in power armor alongside Astartes, and while he'd sometimes fought with Sisters before, their performance was usually erratic. Now, these crazy women had become absurdly deadly.

Other Blood Angels and allied chapters found themselves sidelined—the newcomers had taken over the fight! The swarm was even being driven back. Dante estimated there must be over a hundred companies—maybe more, as blue lights continued appearing in distant fields.

Among the newcomers, Dante recognized some Black Templars and Ultramarines, and even some silver-clad Space Sharks, all just as gigantic—one Space Shark even stood 3.5 meters tall!

But the Black Templars' armor was odd—the chapter symbol had been altered.

Dante was baffled. The only thing certain was that this force was Imperial.

As he pondered, a squad of Ultramarines in blue armor approached.

"Chapter Master Dante! I am the captain of Ultramarines 7th Company. We are here to support you," the huge Ultramarine said.

"Greetings, Ultramarines! Thank you for coming at this critical moment. I must thank Chapter Master Calgar, though your arrival has truly shocked me," Dante replied.

He hadn't even called for help, yet here they were.

"Chapter Master Dante, I know you're surprised, but much has happened! We are here on orders from Lord Roboute Guilliman," the captain said.

"What? Lord Guilliman—the Primarch?" Dante's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Yes—Lord Guilliman himself!"

"That's impossible! What's happened? How long have we been fighting here?" Dante was stunned.

You're telling me a Primarch has awakened?

"I know it's hard to believe, but Lord Guilliman has indeed awakened, by the Emperor's grace," the Ultramarine captain explained, telling Dante all about the Battle for Cadia, the awakening of Guilliman by the new Primarch Rhodes, blessed by the Emperor, and the involvement of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

His task, as instructed by the Primarch and chapter masters, was not to fight, but to make contact with Dante—the fighting could be left to Lord Rhodes' forces.

"It's incredible! So—did Lord Guilliman come himself? Or did the new Primarch, Lord Rhodes, lead the army?" Dante asked.

"Chapter Master Dante, Lord Guilliman remained on Macragge. The one leading us here is the new Primarch, the Emperor's Chosen, Lord Rhodes," the captain explained.

"I see. One more question: how did you all become so huge and powerful?" Dante asked.

This was his greatest concern. The captain and his Marines were all just over 3 meters tall, identical to the ones fighting the swarm. After 1,500 years of life, Dante had never seen these kinds of Space Marines.

"It's like this, Chapter Master Dante. Ten thousand years ago, before dueling the traitor Primarch Fulgrim, Lord Guilliman foresaw his possible fall. Thus, the new generation of Astartes was created: the Primaris Space Marines—stronger, bigger, faster, more agile, with faster healing than the original Astartes," the captain patiently explained.

As they spoke, over twenty immense Tyranid titans appeared, charging at the Space Marine reinforcements. These were the monsters that had destroyed the Blood Angels' lines, inflicting immense casualties.

"Wait! We probably don't have time to chat anymore, Captain. We need to deal with those monsters—those dinosaur-like beasts are terrifying. Even our Titan-class Dreadnoughts couldn't stand against them. Our Librarian managed to kill two, but his powers were exhausted. We have to destroy the rest, or we can't win!" Dante said.

He hated these 20-meter beasts. If not for them, their defense wouldn't have collapsed so quickly.

Librarian Mephiston, using immense psychic power, had managed to kill two but had overloaded his abilities and collapsed.

The other Blood Angels rushed to the armory, grabbing melta bombs to try to take out the monsters' legs, and then attack their heads.

"Come, Captain! We must strap the bombs to their legs, blow them off, then hit the heads."

But the Ultramarine captain didn't move.

"Chapter Master Dante, my task is to explain things to you—ask me anything. As for battle, it's not needed for now," he said.

"What?" Dante turned, confused.

Could the Ultramarines be afraid? Impossible—he knew their courage.

"Trust me, Chapter Master Dante, you won't need to bleed this time. Look—someone else is dealing with them," the captain pointed ahead.

There, a burly golden figure charged forward—it was the Custodian from their group. His presence alone was a huge morale boost.

"Damn Xenos, behold my new power! Henshin!" The Custodian, Ultraman, suddenly grew massively.

To the shock of all Blood Angels, he radiated golden light, transforming into a 65-meter-tall golden giant, even larger than an Emperor-class Titan.

Have we come to the wrong universe?
