"Mr. Serizawa, you've been staying here for the past few days. Is that okay?"
"Yes, it's fine. Thank you for everything you've done these past few days."
"Oh, don't mention it; it's the least I could do. Your brother, Dr. Serizawa, really helped us a lot. This is just a small matter. So, that's it? Shall I leave?"
"Sure."
In the underground world, you couldn't see daylight inside the shelter.
After the staff walked away from the trailer, Serizawa took out his computer and began to review the latest "news."
It was more like an official announcement than news—information about Ghidorah's wings, about Godzilla, and about what lay beyond the rift—all of it was there.
It could be said to be the inner circle of the scientific world, a place only accessible to high-ranking officials from various regions in the past.
But recently, this inner circle has opened up a bit. Although it hadn't been completely opened to the public and all scholars, it had at least been opened to professors from prestigious universities.
It was thanks to his brother that Serizawa Kosuke was able to access this website.
And on this website, he saw many things he had never known before.
The rift, the world beyond the rift, the exploration beyond, harmless H-class life, somewhat risky S-class life, highly dangerous R-class life, and the destructive D-class life.
Compared to the starry sky, the earth beneath human feet seemed even more mysterious.
Seven rifts, seven different spacetimes, countless varieties of completely different life forms.
The rifts that connect different spacetimes are wormholes, and they actually exist on this planet that nurtures them.
This is something that is impossible in human physics.
First of all, constructing a wormhole requires negative spacetime gravity, which requires matter with negative mass and negative energy.
And this means that no substance can form a wormhole because all known substances, including antimatter, have positive energy density.
However, this can be somewhat addressed.
Because the negative energy required for wormholes is not absolute, it doesn't need absolute negative energy. A pseudo "negative energy" field created by the Casimir effect can still meet the needs of a wormhole.
But that's just the beginning. The trouble with wormholes comes next.
According to physics calculations, the tension of a wormhole is incredibly strong.
The tension of a wormhole is inversely proportional to its diameter, and to prevent the forces around the throat of the wormhole from tearing apart molecular structures, the diameter of the wormhole needs to be two light-years.
And to achieve this, it would require the complete transformation of all the positive matter in 10 trillion suns into negative matter.
And this is just to prevent the tearing of atoms. Remember, even a wormhole with a diameter of 2 light-years would have a tension that no human or human-made instrument could pass through. The tension around the throat of a wormhole with a diameter of 2 light-years is a staggering 5 million tons per square meter.
Unless it's some particularly strong chemical bond, everything else will be stretched into a string.
And now, deep within the Earth, there are a total of seven wormholes known to humans, and the tension of these seven wormholes is less than one hundred thousandth of a Newton per square meter.
What does this mean?
For a wormhole with a radius of two light-years, the negative mass matter-induced negative gravity force is 5 million tons per square meter.
And to reduce the negative gravity force at the throat of a wormhole to less than a thousandth of a gram per square meter would require a wormhole with a diameter of over 100 million light-years.
As for how much negative mass would be needed to create such a large wormhole, a rough calculation was performed.
The conclusion was reached that there must be at least a plurality of rifts existing on Earth that humans have not yet discovered.
Gateways to other universes…
It's truly unimaginable.
If that's really the case, then perhaps the land beneath our feet is more valuable than the lifeless expanse of the starry sky.
If humanity could understand the ecological environment inside the rifts, then even if one day humanity were defeated in battle, they could still travel to other places through them.
But unfortunately, the universes behind them are just too dangerous...
Of the seven rifts, two linked to North and South America lead to desolate planets without even an atmosphere.
Another one in East Asia is the birthplace of a planet, filled with hot magma during its infancy.
Only the worlds within the remaining four rifts in Europe, East Africa, Siberia, and Antarctica have complete ecosystems. But the beasts and environments within these ecosystems are unknown to humanity.
In the ecosystem of Europe, there are bizarre insects that can corrode metal detectors, plants that can freely stretch and contract, and white mists that hinder the propagation of electronic signals...
In Siberia's ecosystem, it's eternal blizzards, with temperatures dropping to minus one hundred degrees Celsius, enveloping everything. Only some extreme microorganisms and small life forms exist.
Antarctica, on the other hand, resembles a tropical rainforest, with dangerous and cunning indigenous creatures, suspected to possess human-like intelligence.
In East Africa, it's an endless expanse of grasslands, where life forms comparable to ancient Titans roam. The unmanned devices are completely useless against the things there.
It's truly terrifying.
As a student of biology, Sakae Yuko is actually very interested in the worlds beyond the rifts. However, for so many years, people have found nothing within the rifts, and their descriptions of life are limited to appearances only.
Whether it's H, S, R, or even D, they have never brought any life forms out from within. Let alone analyze and study them.
It will take a long time for research on what's inside, perhaps even beyond his lifetime.
What a pity.
Musing thus, after refreshing the page...
A newly refreshed paper caught Sakae's eyes.
It read:
"Analysis Report on Destoroyah, a Class D Life Form Behind the Rifts."
