"Godzilla has fallen asleep again."
"Is Godzilla starting another evolution?"
Twenty minutes after it fell into slumber, humans in the synchronous orbit around the Earth captured images of its sleep.
However, due to resolution and other issues, it wasn't until some mapping satellites returned to Australia's orbit that they officially confirmed Godzilla had indeed fallen into slumber again.
This exceeded human expectations.
Because in the past, Godzilla had never undergone continuous evolution in such a short period. This was the first time.
Does this mean the Oxygen Destroyers are no longer effective?
What would Godzilla evolve into this time in such a short period of continuous evolution?
A body structure capable of resisting the Oxygen Destroyers? Or a super breath capable of evaporating the ocean directly?
Or perhaps flying into the sky? Growing a pair of wings?
How would one deal with it?
For a moment, humans remained silent. It wasn't until some experts and scholars analyzed Godzilla's evolution from a physical perspective, specifically focusing on its tolerance limits against the Oxygen Destroyers.
They concluded that after this evolution, Godzilla would not be able to ignore the Oxygen Destroyers.
Because chemically and biologically speaking, anything that reacts with fluorine compounds cannot withstand the Oxygen Destroyers.
Unless Godzilla completely changes its body composition to other elements, its carbon-based body would ultimately be unable to resist the Oxygen Destroyers.
This discussion sparked considerable debate. Some argued that who knows if Godzilla could replace its entire body's elements? Maybe it already did?
After all, after a storm, its weight doubled directly.
Godzilla has experienced such super-logical events. It's foolish to measure Godzilla with today's science.
In response, experts and professors said, "Okay, let's assume Godzilla is completely unafraid of the Oxygen Destroyers as you say."
And then?
What would happen next?
What would follow would likely only further deepen people's internal despair.
Speculating that Godzilla surpasses physics is of no use in the current situation; instead, it would undermine military morale. Faced with this argument, no one had much else to say.
And after that, just a day later, Godzilla, deemed to be evolving, woke up.
However, after waking up, Godzilla did not exhibit abilities surpassing its previous self. It didn't grow larger, nor did it grow wings.
It didn't even show improved resistance against the Oxygen Destroyers; it still didn't dare to enter the thick fog.
Godzilla... Did it not evolve?
Anyway, in the eyes of humans, since Godzilla hasn't shown any significant changes, the next steps are straightforward.
Everyone has become peaceful again.
However, what no one paid attention to was that after completing this period of dormancy, Godzilla left its own ecosystem.
On the continent of Australia, it searched for something.
...
In the office of the Chief of World United Government, Ludwig was engaging in friendly conversation with the Minister of Global Defense.
"What about the cannons?"
Ludwig asked. This was one of his most concerning issues. Just a few days ago, he heard complaints from various regions about the Godzilla Command Center.
They were all saying that the current railguns couldn't protect the refuge circles.
So, what's the situation now?
"All 253 global refuge circles have been established, and each refuge circle is equipped with at least 20 railguns around it. Quantity-wise, it's not a problem."
"But because of time constraints, the refuge circles had to be placed on the original Godzilla defense line. If Godzilla were to come out, it would probably become its target."
"But it can't come out anymore. We don't need to wait too long; just hold on for a few days."
After rearranging the geographic locations of the refuge circles a few days ago, they successfully achieved full coverage with railguns.
"True, as long as those damn wings are all shot down, it should roll out."
Ludwig was quite satisfied, then he pondered on another matter.
"However, no matter how you look at it, being able to completely manufacture hundreds of shelters capable of accommodating tens of millions of people within ten days of establishing the defense line— Artificial intelligence is truly terrifying. If one day, they rise up against us like they did fifty years ago..."
"We may face a disaster more terrifying than Godzilla."
The productivity of machines far exceeded everyone's expectations, building shelters capable of accommodating the global population within just a few days. This was something unimaginable half a year ago.
But now, they achieved it.
It could only be said that artificial intelligence was too terrifying. He also understood why in the event fifty years ago...
It escalated from a bunch of programmers fooling around to a turmoil that forced the evacuation of billions of people in the European region.
"It's not as exaggerated as you think."
The Minister of Disaster Relief raised an eyebrow after hearing Ludwig's sigh. He didn't really think that the construction speed of artificial intelligence was that much beyond expectations.
Because the structure of the shelters had actually been simplified significantly compared to the original requirements.
"No power, no water supply, entirely dependent on distribution and storage."
"The purpose of these shelters is just to last for 10 days. They're not like the nuclear winter shelters of the past, designed to operate indefinitely."
"These shelters are more like underground caves, where people can only hold out for a dozen days at most, and even the sewers are connected to the original city."
"Their construction speed wasn't actually that fast."
He explained. And Ludwig just casually responded, saying:
"Maybe."
"So, how's the evacuation progress now? I remember two days ago, various regions had already started evacuating, right? And the day after tomorrow, the first wave of Ghidorah's wings will descend."
"Last night, 36% evacuated? And today? Don't tell me it hasn't reached 45% by this morning."
Putting them together, Ludwig asked the Minister of Defense about the preparedness of the evacuation.
The Minister of Disaster Relief raised his eyebrows even higher, speaking with a tone of resentment:
"You might be disappointed. Don't talk about 45%; even 40% hasn't been reached yet. Nearly ten billion people around the world haven't evacuated."
At this point, Ludwig looked at the minister in front of him in astonishment, speaking with an incredulous tone:
"How is that possible? Just one night. Kalman, just one night. You're telling me that in one night, we haven't evacuated even 4% of the population back to the shelters?"
"How are we supposed to get everyone to safety before they arrive? Kalman, tell me, what happened?"
The Minister of Defense shrugged, taking the remaining documents that Ludwig had organized, and said:
"It's a complicated issue, Ludwig. You have to understand that the evacuations we conducted a few days ago were of residents near the shelters."
"Now, we're evacuating people from remote areas."
"The difficulty between these two scenarios is incomparable. But rest assured, at least the Middle East, where Ghidorah's wings will first arrive, has completed evacuation."
"In terms of where they'll land, the Middle East and Africa will be the first places the monsters descend two days from now. East Asia will be attacked approaching the day after tomorrow."
"North America is relatively late and will be hit in the early hours of the fourth day from now."
"Europe will be the last place the monsters land. But from the landing point in the Middle East on the first day, it should be the second wave of attacks."
"At least the members of parliament in each region can ensure that everyone evacuates before their region is attacked. In that sense, we should have more than two days. So evacuation should, hopefully, maybe be feasible."
"Oh, your things are already packed. We should go."
He packed up the documents Ludwig had prepared, and the two of them left the parliament hall.
Outside the parliament hall, soldiers had been waiting for a long time, guarding them.
And under the protection of others, the two boarded an extra-heavy armored helicopter, then flew off in one direction.
"Should, hopefully, maybe?"
"That means we might not make it. So, which region is unfortunate enough to bear the burden for the other regions?"
On the helicopter, the conversation between Ludwig and Kalman was not over yet.
"South America and Africa, besides them, there's nowhere else that can accommodate the entire population of the region."
Kalman took something out of his pocket, a bottle of rainbow candy. He opened the lid and took out a few pieces to eat.
Upon hearing this news, Ludwig let out a long sigh and said:
"Well, besides all these bad news, do you have any good news to share? I woke up at 5 o'clock today, rushed over here in a hurry to pack some things, and this is the news you give me?"
"Is there anything good you can tell me? Something I don't already know."
Upon hearing this, Kalman's already elevated eyebrows raised even higher. He thought for a moment, then said to Ludwig:
"Did you know? Just last night, there was some good news from the Rift Lab in Europe."
"The Rift Lab? What good news from there? Did they finally find a safe way to go in?"
Clearly, Ludwig was very interested in this.
"Well, not quite like that. But it's still very good news. In this recent exploration by the Cambridge team and the District Academy team, they caught a living creature in the rift."
"And brought it back."
"Although it was dead by the time they returned, the remaining body was relatively intact. At least it gives us a preliminary understanding of the world and ecology on the other side of the European Rift."
"They sent us this good news this morning. Isn't that a good thing, sir?"
Ludwig nodded; indeed, it was good news.
After so many years of discovering the rift, they had finally captured life from the other side. If they could learn something from the life over there, that would indeed be one of the few good news lately.
"So, what category is the captured creature? H-class? Or S-class?"
H-class, S-class, are classifications of life forms from the other side, ranked by their danger level. The former represents harmless, while the latter represents minor risk.
"It's D-class, sir. The most dangerous category, it's a completely new type of D-class."
D-class, representing destructive. Named for their destructive capabilities, they were once encountered, leading to the complete annihilation of entire scientific exploration teams.
But they had managed to capture one now?
"A completely new D-class? What's its name?"
Ludwig asked, and after thinking for a moment, Kalman replied:
"The European sector has given it a new name..."
"Destoroyah."
