"Snort!"
Finn snorted and quickly retreated, dodging the attacks of the ravenous demons closing in.
"Human, you can't run forever," the demon king sneered, gripping a jagged bone sword as he charged forward relentlessly.
"This guy…"
Finn's expression darkened with irritation. He hadn't expected the demon king to be this formidable. The fiend's combat instincts were honed and brutal—his sneak attacks swift, precise, and almost impossible to predict.
In their head-on clash, Finn found himself pushed back awkwardly.
Worse still, the demon king seemed to be using some sort of arcane energy—an unholy power that rendered physical attacks nearly useless.
Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
Finn repeatedly swung his fists with superhuman speed and strength, pummeling the lesser demons. But despite the force behind each blow, they remained untouched—unfazed by the assault.
Even more alarming was the demon king's lightning-fast speed. He breached Finn's defenses several times, almost skewering him with each deadly thrust of the bone blade.
"Damn it… this can't go on. If I keep getting pinned down like this, I'm screwed."
Gritting his teeth, Finn cursed inwardly, eyes scanning for an opening, for anything that could shift the tide. His mind raced through possibilities until—there—an idea flashed.
"There's a way!"
He took a deep breath. The energy within him surged wildly, concentrating rapidly in his arms until it threatened to rupture through the skin.
"Get out of my way!!"
With a furious roar, his muscles swelled, coursing with volatile energy—like live wires overloaded with current. He swung both arms forward, fists hurtling like pneumatic cannons.
Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
The blast sent a shockwave crashing through the chamber. Demons were flung like ragdolls, slamming into the stone walls.
Pffft!!
The demon king staggered backward, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth—clearly wounded.
"Now's my chance!"
Finn's eyes lit up. He sprang forward like a missile, slashing at the demon king's exposed chest.
Pat!
The demon king screamed, collapsing to the ground from the impact.
Finn kicked off the floor, his body rocketing upward. Within seconds, he was behind the demon king, descending like a reaper from the sky.
BOOM!!
He struck with a whip-like leg, slamming the demon king into the earth. Blood gushed from the fiend's mouth as his body convulsed in agony.
"Hah! Got any other tricks, freak? Let's see them!" Finn spat, not relenting in the slightest.
The demon king roared, his eyes glowing crimson. "You little bastard… got anything left? Let's see it!"
His grin widened. "That trick of yours burned a lot of power, didn't it? You can't do it again."
Finn's jaw tightened. He knew the demon king was right—his last move had drained him heavily. Repeating it would be a gamble he might not survive.
He clenched his fists, mind racing. There had to be a way to end this.
Then—the flicker of an idea. A twisted grin curled his lips.
"If that's how it is… then die first."
He formed a sigil with his fingers, carving a strange seal through the air. The temperature plummeted. A haunting chill spread across the room, freezing the air.
AHHH!!
The demon king shrieked as his vitality ebbed away. Frost spread across his limbs—encasing him in solid ice.
"What the hell?!"
He trembled in place, beads of sweat streaming down his face. Fear overtook him.
SHHK!
A golden blade materialized in Finn's grasp. He raised it high and brought it down in a gleaming arc.
The ice cracked. The demon king's body shattered and crumpled to the floor.
He tried to flee, but Finn was faster.
BOOM!!
Finn's voice turned dark, almost inhuman. "You're not getting away this time."
He approached, golden sword in hand—gleaming, deadly.
Click. Click. Click.
The blade cut through flesh and bone without resistance. Finn dismembered the demon king methodically, crimson pooling at his feet.
"You bloody bastard…"
The demon king coughed, glaring with bloodshot eyes.
Finn stood over him, cold and unmoved.
"I'm going to devour you… take everything that's yours…" the demon king hissed, baring his fangs in one last act of defiance.
SWISH!
A brilliant flash of golden light erupted—Finn drove his sword straight through the demon king's throat.
The fiend's words died in his mouth. His pupils dilated, and he collapsed—dead.
Huff—
Finn exhaled sharply, chest heaving. Sweat poured down his face. The fight had drained him to the core.
"Finally… got rid of that bastard. That was hell."
He turned toward the remaining demons. With their king slain, they were vulnerable.
Gripping his sword, Finn advanced, eyes locked on them.
But then—a sinister energy pulsed from the side. Finn froze, head snapping up.
FWHIP!
A black arrow whistled through the air, aimed directly at his chest.
He narrowly dodged, diving behind cover. The arrow embedded itself into the stone wall behind him with a deep thunk.
Had he been hit, in his wounded state, the consequences would've been fatal.
Finn's nerves bristled. That attack wasn't just powerful—it was surgical.
"Who's there?! Come out!!"
His voice echoed with fury. He hated being ambushed, especially after a fight like that.
Then, from the shadows, black smoke coiled and twisted in the air. It formed a hollow void, and from within it, a figure stepped forward.
The atmosphere dropped like a stone.
Finn's expression tensed. The presence exuding from this figure was more terrifying than the demon king's.
He had to be ready. This opponent was on an entirely different level.
"You forced the entire demon faction into retreat. Impressive, kid," the man said calmly, his voice devoid of warmth.
It was the voice of something ancient—something evil.
"Enough games. Come out and face me!"
Finn's glare sharpened as he took in the newcomer's appearance.
A tall, imposing man cloaked in shadow. His aura screamed of malice. Eyes gleamed green, cold and serpentine.
"Heh…"
The stranger smirked. "We aren't just demons. We are something far more than your primitive mind can imagine."
"What are you then?" Finn asked, voice low.
"The Demon King?" he added with a scowl.
The man laughed—humorless and cruel.
"No. That one was a pawn. I am Mara—herald of the Demon Faction. The demon king meant nothing."
Finn's stomach turned. Mara's presence made it clear: this wasn't just another fight.
This was war.
