Michael tossed and turned in his bed, whimpering; his whole body was covered in sweat. Finally, he shot his eyes open, waking up with a start. Thankfully, the night lamp, lighting up the place, comforted him a bit.
It was the same nightmare where a scary-looking masked man was running after a beautiful-looking girl. The girl was none other than his close friend. Before he could have saved her, the masked man had slit her neck with his knife.
Tears rolled down his cheeks; turning his gaze to the side, he caught sight of Nana sleeping peacefully. It scared him a bit to wake her up, considering she would scold him at times, and that had caused him to become a little wary of his behaviour and acts.
Wiping his tears away using the back of his hand, he nudged close to Nana until he couldn't anymore. Seeing her friend getting killed hurted him, and right now, Michael, in his five-year-old mind, could not decipher the dream.
