Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Monsters from the Cthulhu World

Meanwhile, Lance didn't care much about what Nick was thinking. Lance's main focus was to find the quickest way to kill this giant creature without drawing too much attention. If chaos ensued, more innocent people would get involved and killed—something Lance needed to avoid.

The terrifying monster before Lance was the mastermind behind the destruction of The Three Arts Sorcerer.

From its physical form alone, it was clear that this creature came from the Cthulhu mythos. Its body was filled with clumping flesh that kept moving as if it had a life of its own, with tentacles protruding from various directions, making a disgusting, sticky sound.

The creature was known by a name that contradicted its appearance—Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath.

It was called this because of its connection to Shub-Niggurath, one of the original deities among the Cthulhu entities. The Dark Young is a sub-species of "The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young" and serves as a high-ranking servant to the evil god.

The Dark Young's duty is to act as an agent of Shub-Niggurath, receiving sacrifices offered to it, being worshipped by its followers, and hunting down and devouring those who refuse to submit. Its very existence is a walking curse, spreading dark teachings throughout the world.

The Dark Young stands nearly fifteen meters tall, weighing over a hundred tons. A creature like this shouldn't be too difficult for Lance, but the problem isn't just its size or strength. This Dark Young has been sealed with the Three Arts Sorcerers in an ancient temple for thousands of years. During that time, the Dark Young absorbed so much of the evil god's aura that it mutated, making it stronger than its original version.

Lance was confident he could defeat the Dark Young. However, in the midst of a crowded metropolitan city, Lance's movements would surely be limited. As soon as the monster appeared, Lance immediately tried to trap the Dark Young with a mirror dimension.

Unfortunately, the Dark Young had been trapped in the seal of the ancient temple for too long, allowing it to adapt quickly to the binding powers. In a matter of seconds, the Dark Young managed to break free and burrow into the ground, causing a huge commotion around.

Lance had only one choice—move this battle to a safer place in the material world!

Vivi and Christine couldn't help him at the moment, while below, three skeletal wizards were still roaming.

The Three Art Wizards had died thousands of years ago, but now their bodies were controlled by the energy of an evil god and had a direct connection to the Dark Young. As long as that creature was not destroyed, they would continue to rise, as if death no longer meant anything to them.

As Lance began to run out of options, a voice appeared in his mind.

"Take that creature to the Adirondacks, I will help you get rid of the others!"

It was a telepathic communication from Doctor Druid.

"Great!"

Lance smiled faintly. He quickly formed a seal with one hand and waved his fingers toward the monster.

"Bakudō #63. Sajō Sabaku! (Ethereal Binding Chain)!"

From the palm of Lance's hand, a chain of light shaped like a serpent shot out rapidly, wrapping around the Dark Young's body multiple times. The creature roared in anger, its body writhing, but the chain tightened further, restricting the Dark Young's movements.

"Get up now!"

With all his strength, Lance pulled the long spirit chain, as if dragging a massive weight. The Dark Young's body was dragged into the air as Lance soared toward northern New York, taking this battle to a safer location.

...

...

...

The Adirondacks, located in the northern part of New York State, is one of the largest remote areas in the United States.

This extraordinary landscape covers more than 12,000 square kilometers, a region even larger than many countries in the world. Towering dense forests, tranquil lakes stretch like mirrors of nature, while wild rivers carve paths between the rolling hills. The silence that envelops this area is only broken by the sound of the wind roaring through the trees and the occasional call of wildlife roaming about.

Before the 1830s, the Adirondacks were a largely unknown territory. Its northeastern border, particularly Lake Champlain, bore silent witness to bloody battles between the French, the English, and Native American tribes for nearly two centuries. However, it was not until 1894 that New York State declared this area a permanent forest preserve. Since then, the Adirondacks have become one of the first state parks in the United States, a vast wilderness adjacent to the densely populated metropolitan area of New York City.

But now, this natural tranquility is disturbed by the presence of something unusual.

A distance of three hundred to four hundred kilometers takes only a few minutes for Lance, even though he carries an incredibly heavy load.

Roar!

The sound of a growl shook the air, invisible sound waves spreading rapidly in all directions. Every living creature that heard it, both human and animal, felt their bodies tremble uncontrollably. The sound instilled a fear so deep, as if it pierced directly into their souls.

This is a hallmark of the monster from the Cthulhu Mythos.

Just by hearing its voice, the courage of intelligent beings would drastically diminish, as if their bravery was forcibly drained by an unseen force.

However, Lance is not an ordinary human. He stood tall, his eyes sharp and unafraid. Lance's spiritual pressure was strong enough to withstand the horrific mental impact.

The monster lunged forward headfirst, dozens of tentacles swinging wildly in the air, writhing like a group of venomous snakes ready to strike. However, unlike the slender snakes of Medusa's head, these tentacles were far more ferocious and powerful.

As Lance carried it across the hills, the monster wrapped its tentacles around one of the hills, gripping it with tremendous strength. It was as if the earth itself was about to be torn from its place.
