Mila poured cold water on her face and sighed. The trickling of the water down the drain scratched her brain in a soothing manner that made her forget about her and Zyran's earlier argument, though it was still there.
Leaning forward, she pushed her face into the running water and inhaled. She could scream and hit the door while cursing Zyran, but that would only drain her and stress the baby. Zyran had made it clear that she wasn't allowed to leave the house.
Mila grabbed a dry towel, walking back inside the room. She wiped her face. She tried to think about how everything had gone wrong and where. It was too much happening all at once.
Just a few days ago, she and Zyran were happily getting to know each other and, most especially, anticipating the arrival of their baby. But now here they were, throwing hurtful words at each other.
First, it was news about Zyran being a murderer, and next, it's Lacie having CPS take her children and also pictures of Mila and Zyran's father.
