Spencer smirked and said with a weird kind of confidence, "They will. Trust me."
Aurora stared at him, stunned. "How can you be so sure?"
Spencer shrugged. "It's just… something between me and your parents."
Aurora squinted at him suspiciously. "Weird. But okay. Even if they do let you stay, there's still one big problem."
"What?"
"My brothers," she said flatly.
Spencer froze.
Yep. She was right.
Her brothers were like grizzly bears when it came to her. Big. Loud. Protective. And scary.
Spencer groaned and dropped his face into the side of her neck.
She gasped a little, his warm breath brushing her skin.
He stayed like that, his voice muffled against her. "This is so wrong," he mumbled. "Why is it so hard to stay away from you? I just… I want you here. With me. Just for a little longer."
Aurora's heart twisted. She could feel how much he meant it. He wasn't just being clingy. He was scared. He didn't want to be alone again.
