"That is to be expected, I assume," he replied. Severus looked over to where Augusta sat on a chair situated between Frank's and Alice's beds. She had a hold of each of their hands and appeared to be in conversation with both of them. She looked up and caught sight of Severus. "Professor Snape, please come over here," she called.
Severus nodded to Healer Duval and went over to Augusta.
"You remember Severus from Hogwarts?" Augusta asked. "He's the potions professor now and he invented the potion that helping you to get better."
Severus gently shook both Alice and Frank's hands. "I am really happy it worked." He turned to Augusta. "I am sure if you contact Professor McGonagall, she will be more than happy to excuse Neville from classes today. I will ask Harry to collect his homework for him as they are in classes together."
"Neville was sorted into Hufflepuff. I was quite disappointed at first that he wasn't sorted into Gryffindor, but frankly Lily gave me such a scolding about it when we had tea that I was really ashamed especially since he's doing so well at his studies," Augusta confessed.
"Both Lily and Potter came back through the veil last Halloween," Severus explained.
"This all so weird," Alice said shaking her head. "But I can't wait to see our son!"
"Weird doesn't even begin to describe it," Frank added smiling. "And I'm anxious to become reacquainted with Neville too."
"I need to get back to Hogwarts and get ready for my first class, but I'm sure Lily and Harry will be visiting you later today."
When he got back to his quarters, he sent his Patronus to Lily with the news about Alice and Frank. He would tell Harry privately in class because he would be wondering why Neville was absent from their classes.
Harry came into Potions early, looking worried. "Dad, Neville wasn't at breakfast and not in any of our classes so far. I asked Vince, Greg, and Cedric if he was sick, but all they said is that Professor McGonagall came to Hufflepuff and took Neville with her."
Severus threw his Muffliato Spell over them and said, "Healer Duval fire-called me at six this morning and said that Neville's parents had regained consciousness and were lucid. I flooed over to St. Mungo's and spoke with them briefly. I told Neville's grandmother that if she contacted Professor McGonagall, she would excuse Neville from classes so he could spend the day with his parents. I also told Alice and Frank that you and your mother would probably be by later today to visit them.
"That's great, Dad! I'm so happy for Neville."
Lily and Harry did go to visit the Longbottoms. Talking with her best friend again and seeing them with their son; Lily thanked Merlin that Sev's potion had worked.
Severus was coming out of his quarters the next morning, headed for the potions classroom, he heard somebody yell, "Professor Snape!" He turned and Neville cannoned into him, giving him a tight hug. "Thank you so much for curing my mum and dad!"
He was followed by Augusta who smiled. "Neville insisted I bring him down here to see you so he could thank you personally."
"You are most welcome, Mr. Longbottom. As I told your grandmother I wished I had invented this potion years ago."
"It's okay because I've got mum and dad back and that's all that counts," Neville said.
"Did Harry give you your assignments from yesterday?"
"Yes, he gave them to me yesterday when he and Professor Evans came to visit."
"Come along, Neville. I wish to visit with Professor Sprout before I leave to go back to St. Mungo's."
Severus smiled as he watched them walking hand-in-hand in the direction of Hufflepuff House
It was two weeks later that Severus was informed by Healer Dordt that Aberesh had contacted him and was ready to return the heirlooms Severus had entrusted to him. They had all been cleansed of Voldemort's soul pieces and any lingering evil. Severus once again flooed to St. Mungo's and went to Healer Dordt's office. Aberesh was waiting with the bag containing the newly cleansed heirlooms.
"Would you please tell Butannaziba Aberash that I am most grateful for what he has done and I am in his debt," Severus requested of Dordt.
Healer Dordt turned to Aberesh and translated what Severus had said. Aberesh replied and Dordt turned to Severus, "He says you are welcome and you are not in his debt since this is part of his duties as head warlock in the village of Helubaaka."
Severus waited until the warlock had disappeared into the floo to return to his village. He thanked Healer Dordt for his help with the horcruxes.
Dordt shook his head. "No need. I'm a former Ravenclaw and I would have hated to see the diadem that belonged to our founder destroyed especially after it's been lost for so long."
From St. Mungo's, Severus flooed to Diagon Alley to drop the cup, the diadem, the locket and the ring off at the Goblin Jewelry store that was owned by a cousin of the goblin who oversaw the Prince Vaults. Severus paid him extra to have the items cleaned of the centuries of dirt and polished by the next day. He had also notified Mad-Eye and Orion that they wouldn't need to destroy anything by Fiendfyre. To say they were relieved was an understatement as Fiendfyre was difficult even for a fully trained wizard or witch to control.
The next evening Severus invited Pomona, Filius, Minerva, Poppy, Remus, Luc and Cissa besides Lily, Harry, and Draco to dinner in his quarters. Severus and Harry made a glazed pineapple ham that was originally Petunia's recipe, serving it with whipped potatoes, two kinds of vegetables, hot rolls, and English Walnut Date cake for dessert. Wine from the wine cellar of Witches Moon was served with it.
"Excellent meal, Severus," Filius complimented him. "But what's the occasion?"
