When Severus and the others arrived, Lily handed him the bag containing the diadem. "The box is locked and didn't respond to Alohomora, but I did a variation of the X-Ray Spell I invented 7th year to see what's inside and it is the diadem."
"This means they are all accounted for," Lucius said.
"Yes," Severus said. He accepted the bag Lily offered him. "Thank you all for being willing to help us out."
"I'm a Prefect so I'm always willing to help," Percy replied somewhat pompously.
"Come on, Perce we'd better be getting back to Gryffindor Tower. You don't want to ruin your perfect record by getting detention from Professor McGonagall for being out after curfew," Fred joked.
"If anybody does receive detention for being out after curfew, please let me know and I will speak to your head of house," Severus said.
Teddy and Millie left for Slytherin, Cedric, Neville, Greg and Vince headed downstairs to Hufflepuff. Percy left to patrol while Remus walked with Dean, following the twins and Lee to make sure they didn't take any unscheduled detours; Harry remained behind with his parents and the three Malfoys, and Hermione.
"I guess we'd better be getting back down to Ravenclaw," Harry said, looking at Hermione. "Thanks, Dad for letting us help you search."
"Thank you and your friends for offering to help us, Harry. It was an excellent idea," Severus replied. He gave Harry a hug. "Sleep well."
Harry gave Lily a hug too and then he and Hermione started down the stairs to the 4th floor.
"I'll go with them and make sure they are safe," Lily said. She knew there were still people who had ill will towards Harry "Goodnight Sev, Luc, Cissa and Draco."
After Lily had left, Severus, Luc, Cissa, Draco headed for the dungeon where Draco said goodbye to his parents and watched them floo back to Malfoy Manor then headed to his dorm and to bed.
Once Severus was alone he locked the bag containing the Ravenclaw Diadem in the drawer with the other horcruxes. He was planning to take them all to Healer Dordt the next morning.
He rose early the next morning and after eating breakfast, he fire called Healer Dordt at St. Mungo's. Dordt knelt in front of the fire in his office. "Good morning, Professor Snape. How may I help you? There's been no problems with Harry, I hope."
"Harry's fine and sends his regards, but I do have a problem you might be able to help me with."
"Please step through, Professor," the healer said backing away from the fire so Severus could step out. Severus had enlarged one of the bags and levitated all the horcruxes into one bag.
"Do you remember when Harry was here and you told us about the horcrux contained in his scar? You said that a soul could only be torn so many times before it becomes unstable."
Dordt nodded and motioned for Severus to continue. "Miss Evans and I took that to mean that You-Know-Who created more than one; we alerted Rufus Scrimgeour and him and a chosen task force have been working on finding them. We think we have found them all, but the problem is that four out of the five horcruxes are heirlooms that once belonged to the Founders and I really do not want to destroy them if it can be avoided. I thought perhaps that your African mentor might know of a way to cleanse them of the soul pieces."
"Let me contact him and we shall find out," Dordt replied. "He has the only floo connection in the village so I should be able to catch him unless he's away. His name is Butannaziba which means 'he has much strength'. His last name is Aberash which means 'giving off light'."
Butannaziba Aberash was ancient looking when his face appeared in the fire. Dordt started off with what Severus assumed to be a formal greeting and then he continued to speak rapidly in a language he was unfamiliar with. Aberash's expression remained impassive as Dordt spoke. After listening, Aberash spoke. Dordt turned to Severus and said, "Master Aberash wishes to come through to examine the horcruxes for himself."
"Of course," Severus replied, stepping back so the elderly wizard was able to come through the floo.
Butannaziba Aberash appeared ancient, but the robes he wore were bright and colorful rather than garish and zany as Dumbledore's were. He stepped out of the floo and moved towards Severus in a majestic manner; his magic subtle, but powerful.
Dordt introduced Severus to Butannaziba who bowed and was greeted in return with a bow from Severus.
Aberash said something to Dordt who pointed at the bag setting on his desk and the wizard moved over to it while Severus opened it and levitated all the horcruxes out onto Dordt's desk. The wizard touched the items one by one and appeared to be examining them carefully. After several minutes of complete silence he spoke to Severus in English. "There is a ritual to cleanse these of the soul fragments they contain, but it is very complex and it will take several weeks to complete. Will you allow me to take these back with me?"
"By all means, Master Aberash" Severus replied and levitated the horcruxes back into the bag.
"Good," Master Aberesh replied. He took the bag and stepped into the floo. "I will be in touch."
Severus kept in close contact with Healer Duval over the next week. He summoned Severus at six o'clock one morning. Rather than stop and put on a robe, Severus quickly dressed in jeans, a T-shirt and trainers and then flooed to St. Mungo's. He reached the Janus Thickey Ward and went inside. He spotted Duval and asked, "Is something wrong?"
Duval smiled. "No, something is right for a change. Alice regained consciousness late last night and Frank this morning. They're still weak of course, but they are doing well and are lucid. They are having a hard time believing 11 years have passed though."
