Shawn then went to the room where Wynter was.
"If that young lady wants to, she can stay with us," Lenon said to Dominick.
Dominick looked at him with confusion.
"If what Shawn said is true, that she was the one who wrote the school play's story, even though she claimed it was her cousin, then combined with what Dylan told me before about how unique and captivating the story was in its own way, I believe we can help her develop her talent further."
"But then…" Dominick trailed off.
Lenon smiled, "Since we have already irritated them enough. If it was us who were not really connected to her, who would take her under our wing, wouldn't that irritate them even more?"
"You…"
Dominick didn't know whether to laugh or be serious.
"Plus, it would be a waste if she couldn't make that talent bloom. It was not always that Dylan talked about a simple school play. That in itself was enough proof that she has talent. Because Dylan has the best eyes for talent."
Dominick chuckled.
Indeed, since he was young, Dylan was already able to determine who is the most talented among those who are presented in front of him.
If not for him wanting to be a doctor, then he would have become the next in line.
It was because of a certain incident that made him wish to be a doctor who can do miracles. The reason he continued studying hard and excelling in the world of medicine.
"Of course, Emina was not lacking in any way. The way she handles the company has definitely surpassed the way I did," Lenon added.
Dominick smiled, seeing how proud his friend is of his children.
"Very well, we will have the young lady choose. If she is the way to irritate that family more, then wouldn't it be a good payment for saving her?" he then said with a laugh.
Lenon shook his head with a smile.
If they had saved Wynter and she was in good condition, simply locked up, then they wouldn't get involved any further.
But her current condition is too much to bear for them, who love their daughters a lot. To be put in such abuse, thinking about what will happen to her next if she were to return to that place. They could not stomach it.
"Anyway, once she wakes up, then ask her, I know Tiff will have the same thought as me," he said with finality.
Soon, he and Tiffany bid them goodbye as they needed to let his father, Gregory Ashcroft, know what had happened and what may happen after that.
Shawn, on the other hand, chose to message his friends about Wynter being in the hospital in City S.
Gabriel was already waiting for his update and was the first to reply.
Gab:Is she safe?
Shawn:She is. I'll send you the location. I will tell you everything here.
The next day was the weekend, and Gabriel had finished his classes for the day, that he boarded the earliest train he could get into.
Meanwhile, though confused, Kenneth, Justin, and Kathrine, who were already in City S, came one after another.
"What happened?" Kathrine asked, seeing how gaunt and pale Wynter is.
"I'll tell everyone once Gabriel arrives," Shawn replied.
He somehow felt very tired.
It was an ordeal he'd never thought he'd get himself into. But he did, and all the tension that had happened earlier that day finally disappeared, causing him to feel tired.
"We'll watch over her for now. Why don't you have a rest?" Kenneth suggested, seeing his look.
Shawn nodded, "I guess I'll do that."
He went to the sofa in that private room and lay down. A few seconds later, he was fast asleep.
"I just realized now," Justin said after looking at the two sleeping people.
The other two turned to him.
"We are walking towards the age where we will have to face the real world. And with all our standing, we would be facing all these kinds of things more often than we could imagine."
When he saw Wynter's condition, he felt like he had caught a glimpse of the world outside the innocence of youth, where they were being protected by their parents.
"These two will have it harsher than us, that is for sure," he added.
The other two silently agreed.
Even though they had already faced different kinds of scheming, it was true that they were nothing but childish ones compared to when they grew up and faced the adult world.
"And to think that she was already facing that kind of world."
Kathrine couldn't help but add.
She carefully lifted the sleeve of her hospital attire, consisting of loose hospital pants and a soft, long-sleeved sweater.
She looked at the bruises and couldn't help but bite her lip. What happened was already obvious. Shawn did not just tell them in the message. He also told them that it was because she was trying to leave her family.
"She had to go through such brutality for being born in that family," she choked.
"How cruel."
A tear dropped from her eyes.
She could not imagine how much Wynter had to face as she was growing up.
Justin sighed before handing her a handkerchief.
"At the very least, she is safe right now," he commented.
Kenneth also sighed.
No one would really know what others are going through based only on what they see on the surface.
They had known of these words and agreed to it. But it was still different when you experience it yourself.
