"Do you see anything?"
Fifteen long minutes had passed. Yan Rouxi sat in the chair, holding the woman's palm. Her eyes were closed, brows drawn tightly together, deep in concentration. The silence in the room felt like a fog—dense, heavy, and expectant.
At the sound of Xia Yuqing's question, Yan Rouxi slowly opened her eyes and looked at them. Her gaze was dull and apologetic. "I'm sorry," she said quietly. "I don't see anything."
"Again?" Xia Yuqing pursed her lips in disappointment, a subtle sigh escaping her.
Yan Rouxi nodded, her shoulders slumping forward like a wilted flower. She lowered her gaze to the hand, staring at it blankly. What was happening to her? Why couldn't she see anything? Her powers had gone numb, like they had stopped working for some reason.
Was there anything wrong with her?
Her mind began to spiral. She had failed the last time, too. It wasn't a one-time fluke. Something was definitely wrong.
