From what Cades could understand, and his own intent was currently getting in the way of him knowing the original name it had something to do with quick transportation, perhaps even something akin to the teleportation active that Manug showed once or twice, back when they first met, during their fight on the endless chain, well, back then it had seemed endless now it seemed like a ridiculously small chain compared to this truly endless one he was now traversing, as if the other had one of the webs of a cobweb, one of the most inner parts where the things are ridiculously close together and this one was one that the spider idiotically spun across a whole room, one that was going to instead catch the face of a normal person and ruin their day.
Either way, Cades was quite excited to finally, truly activate this active that had now spread within his whole body, radiating the aforementioned intent as if it was oozing out the goo within the monster, that goo being the intent to move itself, Cades, away.
And soon after, after resonating with that will a bit, trying to activate it instantly but failing, perhaps because of how the intent, the active was structured, it finally began to activate, spreading through his whole body, and as Cades awaited something to happen, he was already somewhere else.
During the activation Cades had been looking ahead, right in the direction in which he had previously been wandering, and now, without any warning, he was exactly there, no preparation except for the brief moment of concentration which would still be quite bad in a battle, no magical movement, no mana, no muscle pain, only slight dizziness in his brain and a shortage of breath that should quickly subside from what he could tell.
No, after just a small moment Cades began realizing that something had indeed changed, there was no mana, no lack in his intent, everything was normal, there was no bodily part missing, but something was missing, something he couldn't quite put his finger on, something that was indeed a part of him, btu something that was far away, something that felt as if someone had just screamed at him from a mountain away, as if he should definitely know what was missing, if only partially, but he simply didn't.
Cades paused for a moment, both shocked by the fact that he moved without perceiving, seeing, smelling, feeling anything at all, something he was indeed inclined to deliberate on later, but instead he was more so shocked, or rather worried about what was missing, he didn't even know it if it was important or not after all.
But his fears and worries were unprompted as he could feel that whatever it had been that had been utilized for his jump was slowly starting to heal, so fast that it would only take about two or three more minutes to fully heal, something that was quite surprising considering that he just jumped across four whole links, something that would've normally taken him about four minutes of walking at his normal, unenhanced, non-hurried pace that he had adopted after a month of just walking, if it had only been a month.
Finally, after it had wholly regenerated and Cades finally dared to move again he began to think, think about how the active had just done that, he began to think about how it had even been possible, and as he did he began to think about that which Manug had said about the different types of actives within his world's magical system.
It took him a bit of time and quite a lot of concentration to finally recollect as to what he said about the types, but after a short amount of time he began to remember one type that Manug had been especially adamant about, or rather just a type that he himself had been quite interested in, and indeed, perhaps this very active was a part of this category, perhaps this active which was seemingly called 'warp step' from what he could tell after the active itself had now begun to further spread through his body, regaining it's use as if a limitation period was about to pass.
Perhaps this active was truly apart of the eight type, the type that Manug had been referring to as the 'uniques', or at least that's what Cades thought after he had just gazed over his parst memories of Manug explaining the types, and from what he could remember the eight type consisted of powerful unique abilities that couldn't really be ordered into any of the other places and of miscellaneous abilities that were oftentimes not of use in real battles, at least from what Cades could interpret from the explanation of the archer that Cades now realized was lacking in practical examples.
But that still didn't explain it, how had that active been capable of transporting, or rather warping, him from back where he had been to here without any feeling, any cause or any problems with his own self and body, after all the other actives cost him something, the overload cost him mana, the magic missile as well, and the regeneration blessing cost him both mana and added to that it seemed to cause him hunger, something that he was however barely able to notice the last time he had used it, and something that was rather unremarkable in this place as one could not die of hunger here, at least according to what Manug had said once.
Something else must've been consumed, Cades was certain of that, he had indeed felt it after all, but what it had been, that he didn't know, and added to that he was more so worried of the how, something that made no sense to him as every single spell he knows, of every single system he had experienced so far, such as the system of the wooden mage, the wooden hunchback, Manug's, the system of the golem from just now and his own, showed some kind of symptoms when they were used.
After deliberating this for some time Cades however began to shake his head and turned around, having looked back to make sure of how much he had moved and having neglected to turn around once more, and just started walking again, the question was truly intriguing, but he was close to the next island, and he could already feel his active having almost completely recharged, so perhaps he would be there even sooner than he had expected.
