Chapter 117 - Meeting the "Queen" [2]

"Behaving like this is exhausting!" Aurelia exhaled while slumping down.

"At least Jole was pleasant to talk to." Aurelia's hand slid onto her face before squeezing her forehead.

"Indeed, my Lady, he seemed to understand he had no choice but to submit," Lucious spoke softly.

Aurelia tilted her head slightly, "It is too much to ask that others are as accepting as him?"

"I am afraid so, he might be an exception," Rayn interjected.

The archangel duo was quiet until now, but ever since she let them relieve themselves, they started talking as much as Ladios did.

'Was I too cruel not to see it before...?' Her expression soured slightly.

If someone had denied her pleasure of lusting after her hero, she would be quiet and disgruntled, too.

She sighed, "If I am correct, Volt of House Ruby should be arriving soon."

"That would be correct," Ladios spoke seriously.

She knew the old man, while not overly hostile, he was not a pleasant individual.

The man had a tendency to get himself into debts which he never repaid, If he had taken loans from merchants and they dared request it, they would have been arrested.

And for what?

For nothing but Volt's arrogance.

Aurelia had to free so many people who were arrested wrongfully as soon as she had been made official queen.

Merchants, Political Opponents, Unfortunate civilians.

'Endure a little more!' She clenched her fist.

She had to punish barbaric members of the 4th legion, free prisoners, and deal with the church of Chrunus.

"AAAH!" She screamed loudly into her palms, fortunately only surrounded by Angels who weren't bothered by such an outburst.

"Such a daunting task has my darling hubby given to me..." She pouted.

It wasn't long after that next guest arrived.

Duke Volt of house Ruby.

Unlike Jole, he didn't kneel before her, but instead stared at her with a curious expression.

"Ah! Aurelia, long time no see." His gaze switched to Rows of Angels.

He raised an eyebrow, "Who are these fine gentlemen?" He then stared at Lucious, "And the lady."

"They are Angels, and my Guardians," Aurelia spoke with pride and power.

"Jole did say they weren't demi-humans, so I will believe you, Girl." Volt emphasized the world girl.

He did not see her as a queen, not even as a woman.

"Your messenger had very rudely invited me here, while in normal circumstances I wouldn't even visit someone like you, this time I decided to be gracious."

His eyes widened slightly, "And yet, you seem different than the helpless little girl I knew."

He crossed his arms. "Is it because of that woman?"

Aurelia stared anxiously. Was it truly right to tell him?

Aurelia couldn't see an issue. "Of course, it is. Are there any issues with that?"

Volt took a step back, his eyes glimpsing the power in Aurelia.

"You are not Aurelia, I know." He looked with suspicion.

"You are right, Volt. I am to be a Queen, and so I expect you to address me with respect!" Aurelia demanded, subconsciously activating [Divine Charm].

Volt was forced to kneel, despite his will. Something that scared him deeply.

Aurelia gathered herself; every moment she allowed Volt to speak was a moment where he did not submit to absolute authority.

If Raguel had been here and seen the way he spoke, he would have been killed, but Aurelia was a lot more lenient.

"Volt, you will support my ascension. That is not a request, that is an ultimatum." She stopped for a moment, "Raguel had seen your every move, act against me at your own peril!"

A cold sweat dripped from his forehead. He knew Raguel was terrifying, and so he played along, but Aurelia?

She was a weak little girl easily manipulated and used by others.

Why did she have so much power?

'Was it Raguel? Dammit, I wont be able to manipulate her...' He sighed. He had no choice.

He would support her, and once she had let down her guard, he would make sure she would be removed.

After all, no woman should ever sit on the throne.

Especially not 'The Princess of Fools', despite her newfound power.

"I... understand, I will support you at the senate gathering."

He bowed.

"Good, you may leave now, Duke Volt." Aurelia gestured with her hand, prompting Volt to bow and leave without a word.

As he made his way out, Aurelia sighed. "Did I do well?"

"You did excellently, Aurelia." As she heard the words, she jumped up.

Next to her, she heard Raguel's voice.

"Mom... RAGUEL! How long were you here?" Aurelia backed up against the throne.

"Long enough to see you act like I taught you." Raguel lifted her hand, making Aurelia back off before placing it onto her head, "Good job."

Pat.Pat.Pat

"Father would be proud of you, Aurelia." Raguel smiled, instead of a fake smile she wore when interacting with most this time it was genuine.

Aurelia's face turned red for a moment as she squirmed, "... I hope so. It's my deepest wish."

"At this rate... You will be his wife in no time." Raguel smiled, her gaze washing over the other Archangels.

"You 3 did well too... I observed how you acted in these meetings." Her voice made the trio wince.

She blinked, "Do not be dramatic, I am praising you."

"Thank you, Lady Raguel." Lucious was the first one to gather the courage.

"Mhm, good, and you do know I chewed you out for your own good, right?" She approached Lucious.

"Do not hate me for it." She smiled with a satisfied expression.

Lucious averted her gaze and pouted slightly, "I couldn't hate you, Lady Raguel. You are right."

Raguel tapped her on the shoulder before turning to Aurelia, "All of you are doing excellently, you will surely make the Father proud!"

She crossed her arms before slowly walking towards the center of the room.

"Once the Senate gathers, I will be there." She took a deep breath, "Let us hope they will understand the futility of standing against..."

She stopped for a moment.

"Father's future bride." With a wink, she teleported, leaving stunned Aurelia and the Archangel trio behind.
