I woke up face-first in the dirt.
My head was pounding like I'd gone on a tequila bender, and everything smelled like wet grass and... forest. I blinked a few times, staring up at the massive trees towering over me.
"Where the hell am I...?" I muttered, dragging myself to my feet.
Last thing I remember, I went to bed after another long night of gaming, snack binging, and completely ignoring my responsibilities. Now? I'm in a forest. A very real, very not-my-bedroom forest.
As I took in the surroundings, a sudden ding sound made me jump.
[The Craftsman System is online]
The hell I thought as a blue with white word screen appeared in front of me.
[System functions: [Stats] [Skills] [Perks] [Inventory] [crafting] [Missions]
Is this one of those types of novel systems I thought, as I looked at the floating text box in front of me.
Name: Antonio Jesus Sanchez
Race: human
Body: 4
Mind: 13
Spirit: 2
Soul: 7
[Average for your race is 5]
Well, go fuck yourself. I thought as I looked at my stats again, so I'm below average when it comes to my body and, I guess, spirit. Besides body, what the hell do my other stats even represent?
As my system did not respond, I simply sighed and decided to click in my inventory. As it opened up, there was already something in there that looked like a box. It appeared in his inventory as he clicked on it, and he gained a notification.
[Open newbie Gift box]
Clicking on it a box materialized doing a boxing opening animation as it exploded into sparkles.

What the fuck is this? I thought pulling out the weird coin in my inventory. Whatever, probably not important. As I put it back, I grabbed the sword from my inventory, and equipping the armor immediately covered my body in leather armor. I swing the sword, doing some slashes for the first time. Yeah, I suck balls at this. I thought, as this was the first time I ever used a sword in real life.
Putting my sword back in the hilt that it came with and deciding to continue his walk down the forest, eventually making it out, as he did that, he noticed what looked like a constructed paved road.
For like, an hour, he continued walking until he finally started seeing what looked like probably a town.
He had honestly been expecting something medieval dirt roads, stone huts, maybe even a few straw roofs. But the houses here were finely constructed, with well-tiled roofs and glass windows. Not a scratch or mark on them. If he was being honest, they looked almost… modern.
The people weren't much different. While their clothing was odd at first glance, the styles were surprisingly familiar. Jackets, sweatpants, jeans, and other modern-looking outfits were common. Some even wore sneakers.
Granted, the oddest thing was that a few were wearing bits of armor or leather gear over their clothes. Like some weird fantasy cosplay.
"Oi, man!" he called out to a big, buff guy walking by. "Is there some kind of adventurer guild around here? Looking to pick up work."
The man gave him a weird look before shrugging. "Yeah, sure there is, kid. This is Axel, y'know?" he snorted, then pointed down the road. "Head straight, then turn right. Big flag up top you can't miss it."
After a five-minute walk, he stood in front of what was clearly the Adventurer's Guild.
The building had a large symbol hanging above the entrance probably the Guild emblem. Inside, the air was filled with lively chatter, laughter, and the clink of dishes. Dozens of people filled the place men, women, humans, and even a few other races, dressed in all kinds of gear and clothing. Some even wore metal bikinis.
He blinked. "Well, that's new."
"Welcome!" a cute blonde waitress greeted him with a bright smile. "If you're here to eat, feel free to grab an open seat. If you're looking to register or take quests, head to the counter in the back."
"Thanks," he replied, nodding as he looked around the guild hall.
At the registration desk, only one person was present a woman who looked to be in her early twenties. She had light skin, blonde hair, and golden eyes. But what really caught his attention was… well, her sizable assets barely restrained by a revealing uniform.
"Hello, my name is Luna," she said with a friendly smile, her chest bouncing slightly as she moved. "What can I help you with today?"
"I was told to come here if I wanted to become an adventurer," he said.
"I see!" Luna nodded cheerfully. "In that case, you'll first need to pay the registration fee."
Of course there was a fee. He just hoped it wasn't ridiculous.
"How much?"
"2,000 Eris."
He relaxed a bit, remembering the coins from his beginner package. Reaching into his pocket or more accurately, his inventory he pulled out the amount and handed it over.
Luna nodded, then pulled out a strange device that held a glowing blue orb and a blank card.
"Allow me to explain," she said as she placed the card beside the orb. "Every adventurer has a class, which falls into one of five categories: Fighter, Rogue-like, Cleric, Magic-user, and Other. This card is your registration card it tracks your kills, shows your stats, abilities, skills, and other info. You'll gain skill points each time you level up, which you can use to learn new abilities. So make sure to work hard!"
So, level up to get skill points, and skill points unlock abilities. Got it. Hopefully his system didn't freak out from this.
"Mind if I ask a few questions?" he asked.
"Not at all!" Luna replied brightly.
"Great. So, what kind of classes are there?"
"Oh, dozens," she said. "But the most common ones are Swordsman, Mage, Thief, and Adventurer. As your stats grow, you'll unlock more advanced classes like Swordmaster, Rune Knight, Arch-Mage, Assassin, Ranger, Berserker, Crusader, Reaper, and so on. There's no limit to how many times you can change class so long as you meet the stat requirements."
She raised a finger. "Each class gives bonuses to skills and stats. For example, Mages recover mana faster and have access to advanced magic, while Swordsmen have better stamina recovery and melee combat abilities. Some classes even grant free starter skills. A Thief might learn Steal or Bind automatically when they switch."
So classes worked like unlockable skill trees, giving better returns when using related abilities. Made sense.
"What about stats? Do they level up automatically, or do I need to use skill points?"
"Stats improve passively based on what you do," Luna explained. "Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, Agilitythose will increase the more you use them. Mana and Vitality also increase naturally. You can speed it up with skill points if you want. For example, casting magic daily or meditating boosts Mana. Training, exercise, and fighting raise Vitality though getting hurt is... not the recommended method."
"Gotcha," he said with a nod. "Can I learn skills from other classes too?"
Luna nodded again. "You can, but it's usually not worth it, with the exception of the Adventurer class, skills from other classes cost a lot more. A Swordsman learning Fireball, for example, might pay six points instead of one. Adventurers pay less, but the skills are still weaker compared to a proper Mage. You can power up a skill by dumping more points into it or using it often, but it still won't be as efficient."
She tapped the counter. "There are neutral skills too like Cooking, First Aid, Smithing that anyone can learn. But for combat skills, your class really matters."
"Okay, so what's next?"
"First, sign your name on the card, please."
He took the pen and quickly scribbled it down.
Antonio Jesus Sanchez.
Luna took the card back and gestured toward the orb. "Now place your hand above the crystal."
He did as instructed. "Like this?"
The orb glowed, and the device began to whirr and click. He raised an eyebrow as it started writing on the card by itself.
[Foreign System Integrating: Simulating…]
Well… at least it didn't crash.
Luna examined the finished card and smiled. "Not bad for a beginner. Strength and Dexterity are average. Your Intelligence and Luck are surprisingly high. Agility… not so much."
She tilted her head. "With these stats, I'd recommend either Mage or Swordsman. Your Agility is too low to qualify for Thief."
"Mage is more about long-range support and spell casting. Swordsman is melee-focused, with better stamina and vitality recovery. Both classes gain one skill point per level."
He considered it. Honestly, he'd originally wanted to ask about a Blacksmith class since his system seemed to favor crafting. But he figured he'd probably get better blacksmithing skills through his system anyway.
Between Mage and Swordsman, there was no contest (he's no sissy cuck).
"I'll go with Swordsman," he said with a confident grin.
Luna smiled and tapped the card again before handing it over.
He looked down at his card.

"Huh, letter system, huh?" he muttered. Ignoring the stats for now, he looked up at Luna again.
"Know anywhere I can buy equipment?" I say as I wanted to see the quality of weapons I could get in this town.
"If you're looking for beginner gear, I know a shop that sells decent equipment for new adventurers," Luna said, scribbling something down. "If you're low on funds, you might want to try a retrieval quest they're great for quick Eris, but they go fast. Or consider a part-time job if you want steady income."
"A part-time job, huh..." he mused aloud.
"Anyway, thank you for everything, Luna," he said, folding the note and smiling.
"It was no trouble. Come see me if you ever have questions," Luna replied warmly as he turned and walked off.
Leaving the adventure guild.
Following the drawn map as best I could I stumbled onto what I can only assume was a equipment shop.
Making my way inside I saw an assortment of arms, armor, and other useful gear.
I looked ahead to see a man waving at me with a wide, toothy grin. He was older maybe early forties with tanned skin and a solid build that made it clear he wasn't just some shopkeep. His black hair was cut short, and his tight white shirt stretched slightly over broad shoulders. Brown pants hung loosely from his waist, tucked into well-worn boots.
"What can I do for you today?" he asked, folding his arms as I stepped closer.
"Name's Antonio. I'm looking for some basic adventuring equipment something cheap, but durable," I said, adjusting the strap on my pack.
"New adventurer, huh?" he said, eyeing me up and down with a knowing smirk. "Well, name's Jon. I'm the blacksmith and owner of this fine establishment."
He gave a proud nod toward the modest shop behind him, where the sounds of metal clinking and faint heat from a forge hung in the air.
"So, what kind of gear are we talking here?" he asked. "Sword? Dagger? Axe? Maybe a good ol' spear?"
"Just a simple light sword," I said, not really wanting to lug around anything too bulky for now.
Jon nodded and disappeared into the back with a grunt. I heard the shuffling of crates, the clatter of metal, and a few muttered curses before he returned a minute later. In his hands was a bundle wrapped in thick cloth, which he dropped onto the counter with a soft thud.
"Here we are. A couple of basic iron swords," Jon said, patting the bundle. "Cheapest I sell, but they won't snap in your first fight can't say the same for your nerves though," he added with a chuckle.
I narrowed my eyes and activated my Observe skill to take a closer look at the weapons in front of me.
[Item: Basic Iron Sword

Rarity: Common
Durability: 78/100
Attack Power: 7
Weight: Light
Description: A simple iron sword forged for beginner adventurers. Balanced, but lacks enchantments or special craftsmanship.
Maker: Jon, Blacksmith of Axel]
Not better than my free sword, I thought, but I figured having a backup wouldn't hurt. You never know when a weapon might break or fly out of your hand mid-fight.
"I'll take one," I said, pointing to the sword with the least scratches on the blade.
Jon nodded, scooping it up and wrapping it in some cloth. "Smart call. Can't ever have too many spares out in the field."
"That'll be 25 Eris."
I handed over the coins and tucked the wrapped sword into my inventory with a quick swipe of my fingers.
"Anything else you need, Antonio?" he asked, leaning on the counter with that same friendly grin.
"That would be all," I replied, giving him a polite nod.
Jon raised a hand in farewell. "Then good luck out there, adventurer. Try not to get yourself killed."
With that, I turned and stepped out of the shop, the sun still hanging high in the sky.
As I walked, I decided to head back to the Adventurer's Guild. But just as I passed a narrow alleyway between two buildings, a strange sensation surged through my head like a hook pulling at the inside of my skull.
[Foreign system fully integrated]
I felt myself blacking out.
