Chapter 114 - Ch. 113 - Civil War! [2]

[Diorno PoV]

A situation has occurred in the west.

According to the information I received, a bunch of cultists were gathering sacrifices, a young and virgin sacrifices to be exact.

As the head of the Exorcism Association, it is my job to eliminate these people and let it serve as an example to those who might attempt it in the future.

"Master! Are we off to a mission?" Running towards me was my student, Santos, already grown a bit of a height and weight.

He's no longer that scrawny kid that I picked up in the past.

Thanks to our training and daily meals, the boy can now be considered as healthy.

"That's right, my boy. As my successor, you're going to be needed. So prepare yourself." With a nod of his head, he went off to do as I said.

As much as I don't want want to include the boy in such a dangerous mission but he's going to need this. To experience the cruel works of humanity.

Only then, he would be ready to face a much more dangerous future.

I'm currently in the training room, practising all of my skills against the Mystic Guardians, whom are enhanced and stronger than before during the Great War.

To be honest, I was inspired by Belle's chainsaw like whip and decided to make my own.

However, instead of whip, I used the Tao Mandalas and manipulated them to spin as fast as possible.

Now, the previous balance of Defence and Offence has turned into less of a Defence and more of the Offence.

Not only that, I also tweaked it a bit to handle a small amount of Energy.

So now, I'm capable of throwing it like a spinning disk that could cut through almost anything.

Watching it cleave through several Mystic Guardians that has the defense as strong as a High-class devil, I couldn't help but stare at it in a gawking manner.

Shit, no way I just created an extremely, vicious spell, right?

Blame Krillin then, he's the one who inspired this kind of attack, the Destructo Disk.

"Have some more!" Watching the decapitated Mystic Guardian regenerate itself thanks to Regeneration Rune that j planted in them, the Mystic Guardians slowly recovered themselves.

"Great." Raising my hand, another spinning disk appeared on top of my palm.

"I guess it's the perfect time to test your limits." I muttered to myself, eager to know how long the Mystic Guardians would hold themselves up against me.

For the next few hours, sounds of intense fighting and metal parts getting smashed can be heard inside the training room.

If someone were to get here, they might mistake me as a metallurgist due to the countless broken metals around me.

"Next time, I might get my luck on getting a hold on Vibranium, or at least similar to one." Muttering to myself, I waved my hand and the cores of the Mystic Guardians was filled with my signature Demonic Energy, triggering their regeneration again.

"It takes twelve times of head decapitation, ten times of limb slicing and five times of smashing their faces to fully empty their tank." I listed while commanding the fully regenerated Mystic Guardians back to their posts.

I looked at myself in the training room's mirror and saw no notable injuries in my body, only my bloodied orange robes.

What. Did you really think I'll only let the Mystic Guardians have the fun of having strong regeneration capabilities?

I'd be an idiot if I don't utilize it to myself.

At first, I was thinking of using my heart as my core so I would be able to regenerate my entire physical body as long as my heart doesn't get destroyed, however, I came up with a better idea.

Use my soul as the core of my regeneration.

Since destroying the core is the Mystic Guardian's weakness, which is something only I know, I decided to not let myself fall to the same category.

So I let my core serve as a core.

Although a soul is a delicate and fickle thing, but I've been tinkering in my soul long enough to the point that I could write two thick books about it and still have some reserved knowledge in my head.

If someone else other than me who has entered my soul space two times and studied it less than me, no doubt they would accidentally scratch their soul, or worse, destroy it and effectively kill themselves with no chance of return.

Thanks to this, I'm physically impossible to die now. Unless my opponent is an expertise in soul attacks, then I could keep regenerating myself like a Deadpool as long as I still have an ounce of energy left.

The only downsides in this aside from having my soul attacked are the spells or attacks that has anti-regeneration properties, similar to what I did to those Phenex bastards, traumatizing their smug faces when they realized they can't regenerate from my attacks.

Nevertheless, even with it, the pros far outweighs the cons. So it's better to have it than none.

Exiting the training room, I was about to head back to my office when I was attracted by the sounds of fighting inside the training grounds.

"Someone must be fighting." I muttered to myself and changed my direction from the office to the training grounds.

Once I got there, I was immediately met with the cheers and yells from the Student Sorcerers and Sorcerers. While some Adept and Master Sorcerers were just quiet on the side, watching the event in the middle unfold.

As for the event, it was a sparring match, between Belle and her brother, Little Tam.

"I won't let you get ahead of me, sis!" Tam yelled in frustration as he channeled his Demonic Energy to form several whips and Tao Mandalas to fight against Belle, who simply conjured portals to deflect everything.

"You can't defeat me, brother. You only know a few spells, the basic ones. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my potential not expanding my repertoire of knowledge in spells." Belle calmly said.

However, being a stubborn little brother he is, little Tam refused to listen and instead, continues to barrage Belle with whip and Tao Mandalas attacks.

There are even times when he would try to use his superior strength as a low-class devil to overpower Belle, which turns out to be ineffective to her.

Belle's expertise in portal creation is simply legendary that even I, myself, doubts whose more capable, me or her.

"She's truly amazing! I don't think I could conjure portal that effectively! She can even conjure five at once! And here I am, having a hard time on one."

"She's the Sorcerer Supreme's student, alright."

"Bah! It's just a portal! It's nothing as fancy as the true advance spells!"

"Are you saying that the Sorcerer Supreme's spells aren't that fancy?"

"T-That's not what I meant!"

"Yeah, right. As if the portal didn't help you reach the bathroom yesterday when we're in the middle of the forest. You think I'd forget that?"

"Stop lying! I told you, I only used it because I forgot something in my room!"

"You mean Bathroom?"

As much as I want to focus on the interesting conversation between two student sorcerers, I was too captivated by the sparring.

Although Belle recently ascended to the rank of a full-fledged sorcerer a few months ago, but her strength has since leaped tremendously.

Who knew the big sister that I gave a chance to learn magic because of her jealousy over her brother's devilish strength would turn out to be more talented and stronger than him.

Not to mention, just a year ago, she was frail and almost on the verge of death.

Just by imagining if I didn't encounter Tam and failed to nurture such a talented lady, almost makes me sigh in relief.

'Thankfully, her talent wasn't buried with her and I managed to uplift her potential.' I whispered under my breath.

Eventually, the spar lasted quite a few hours and from the start, the winner has been obvious, which was only confirmed at the end of the match.

Belle won effortlessly.

Little Tam can be seen on the ground, exhausted and passed out with his tongue out.

If this was cartoon or anime, swirling spirals would be seen in his eyes.

'I should help him get to Mid-class to at least have a fighting chance against his sister.' Muttering to myself, I slowly approached them while the onlookers already started to go leave or go back to their own training, through not before greeting me first out of respect.

Crouching in front of the passed-out Tam, I waved my hand above him and healed him of all of his injuries.

"Thank you for healing him, Master. I think I went too hard on him." Belle came up to him and apologized.

"No need to apologize, Belle. It's not about going to hard or easy. It's about knowing when to stop. You stopped when he passed out and you should be proud of that. Some people tend to accidentally continue not knowing that their opponent is long gone." I said to her, recalling some part of my memory.

A memory of me. A mistake, the past me did in Kamar-Taj.

I went too far on my sparring partner and it was my former Master, Kaecilius, who had to step in and remind me that my opponent has long given up, I just didn't notice it.

Perhaps, I was too impulsive back then or maybe it's because of my fear. Fear for my life, living in a world where any moment would've killed you in the blink of an eye.

"I want to teach him myself, master. But he's too stubborn to be taught by me, preferring either training by himslef or by you." Belle sighed in defeat and told me.

"Don't worry. Perhaps, I've neglected him for far too long. It's partially my fault for thinking he wouldn't need much of my assistance because of the fact that he has the gift of being a devil while you and Augustus aren't." Standing up while hoisting him in my shoulders, I patted Belle's shoulders and assured her.

"This time, I'll make it different. The next time you two spar. Make sure to prepare yourself." Although my words sounds a bit offensive to some but to her, she was grateful.

"Thank you, Master."

"No need. Oh, by the way, I have a mission for you. There's a rising cult in the west, I need you to take care of them. They use female virgins as a sacrifice to their god, looking at you, you for their criteria, they would underestimate you and you can just deliver the blow."

"A cult in the west?"
