Chapter 113 - Ch. 112 - Civil War!

"It's starting." I muttered to myself after receiving a hasty report from Raviel in the Underworld.

A clan was wiped out of existence.

Reason? Siding with the Bael clan, who opposses the original Satan's children.

If this is how they handle opposition, then no doubt this wouldn't be the last. They might target the Sitri or Astaroth clan next. I won't even be surprised if the Bael clan is also attacked.

Currently, the Bael clan lacks people due to the war. Might also be thanks to me annihilating them in the human world.

In fact. I might even be the person in the war with the highest devil kill count.

Aside from Lucifer of course. When that guy exploded, he killed millions of devils.

I won't be surprised if he became the reason why devils are now lacking population and on the verge of extinction.

Combined with the devil race's low fertility rate, it would take them thousands of years to at least get back five percent of their original population.

'Good thing Ajuka invented the Evil Pieces to at least contribute to the devil's depopulation.'

While I was thinking to myself, I heard a knock on my door. I was currently inside my personal office in the Sanctum Sanctorum which has now opened up for the Sorcerers back in Merlin's Tower, since there are too many of them there.

"Come in." I answered and the door opens.

It was Nostradamus who came in.

"Master. I just had a vision today when I woke up." Entering, Nostradamus nervously informed me.

Immediately, I fixed my posture and gestured him to sit in front of me.

"Take a sit, Michel." I called him by his real name. Nostradamus is just his modified last name.

In fact, he told me that I was the first one to call him Nostradamus aside from his former teacher, who turns out to mistakenly read his last name Nostradame as Nostradamus.

It's quite an interesting story behind such an enigma back in my world.

During the last few weeks, Nostradamus's innate ability to see the future started to get frequent. At first, it was just small glimpses of the future, high-rise buildings, cars and such.

Nostradamus thought that the future looked good but I'm the only one who knows it isn't.

With advancement comes the erosion of peace and simplicity. People will start to crave for power and by doing so, they'd be willing to sacrifice even their loved ones.

And it is my job to prevent that future.

I'm humanity's protector, and protecting humanity from itself is part of my job.

I won't go down the same path as the Ancient One, ignoring human affairs.

Look what happened in the What If's series. When Ultron won, the Kamar-Taj was unable to prevent his rise, ultimately taking over the entire universe.

If they had known about it much earlier, they could've prevented it from happening but no. They didn't. They focused too much on interdimensional threats rather than the inside.

Don't they know that Earth is ten times dangerous than outside of it?

Heck, even Iron Man, the self-proclaimed son of Marvel, is extremely dangerous if he decided to use his intellect to do bad rather than good.

"So what is it, this time? Did you see flying wagons?" I jokingly said, knowing full well that it would happen in the future except it is called Airplane.

"….Not exactly…This one is very vague and much blurry but I remember seeing many dead bodies, devils and angels alike, including Mister Raviel." Finishing his words, I froze for a bit before squinting my eyes.

'Raviel died? He must be referring to the Civil War. I didn't know it would be this bloody.' Sighing in defeat, I leaned backward and rubbed my forehead.

'If only Chronos Requiem can also see the future. I've been trying to master it and so far, I can only sneak a peek 5 seconds into the future.'

During these past few months, aside from expanding my influence and implementing my plans on the Sorcerer Society, I didn't stay idle and continued making myself stronger.

I developed many spells and skills thanks to my Nephalem bloodline, which what I started to refer as being a mix of a devil and angel.

Although it's a bummer that I don't have the Evil Light that Lucifer has, but I don't really mind it that much.

Especially since I gave it to Raviel instead, who deserves it more than I do.

That boy died as an infant, lived in the Dimensional Gap for years without any actual knowledge or any education and then inheriting the burden that his father made.

It's too much for him and I'm glad he can handle it, with my help, of course.

'Maybe if I can unlock the Balance Breaker? No, God said it is dangerous and it is only reserved if the Sacred Gear or its user is on the verge it collapse or death.' Shaking my head at such thoughts, I focused my attention back to the nervous Nostradamus and said to him.

"Anything else? Like, do you recognize how he died? The place he died?" Leaning forward, I stared at his eyes.

Unfortunately, Nostradamus shook his head and replied.

"I'm sorry, master. But that's all I can remember. This vision is much more blurry than the previous ones."

He's telling the truth.

I know because I just read his mind and everything he said is the exact same as the one in his memories.

Don't blame me, I'm not invading his privacy, I'm just making sure he's right. After all, mind tend to forget something that the eyes has seen but not what the mind has experienced.

There are moments when mind locks a memory away, making its owner forget about it and move on but the memory itself is still there, lingering.

"It's fine. Just don't hesitate to tell me if something else happens, okay?" Assuring him, I gave him a slightly smile before he scurried off.

Once he's gone. I sighed and leaned back on my chair, staring at the empty ceiling with a dull expression.

"It's been just a few months since the Great War happened and now, another one is about to come." With another sigh, I recalled about Serafall and her last few words a few weeks ago.

"She wanted to arrange the marriage between us. And her parents? They're more than happy to have me married to their daughter. After all, with my current status now, they're the one who would be benefitting from this marriage." I couldn't but chuckle at it.

Of course, I could stop the marriage but what am I supposed to do when I've long already fallen for Serafall.

No tricks. No manipulation. And no infleuce involved. A simple yet pure love to her. And the same goes from her to mine.

We both love each other and there's that.

Obviously, that doesn't mean I'll let myself be manipulated through her. For example, her parents would ask me something that only I can do but has its own risks, I might consider it depending on the situation.

"So many problems." I gave in another sigh.

Sure, the Great War is finally done and I grew exponentially both in character and strength but the world decided it's not enough.

And then boom, there goes my peaceful days by giving me the Civil War.

What's next, Infinity War? Then Endgame?

Then Doomsda- Nevermind. We'll never get to that point.

Time to train I guess. I'm still hoping I could achieve that ability to see far in the future.

I just want to know if this world will ever have it's own Tony Stark and such things. After all, human potential is limitless and you'll never know when someday, someone would rise abruptly and take the world by storm.

[Serafall PoV]

"Hmm~ Hmm~" As I hum to myself while handpicking the flowers I want to be present during my wedding, I suddenly sensed my mother entering the garden.

"Mom. How're you doing?" Plucking one last beautiful yellow sunflower, I turned around to face her, to see her smiling in the same way as me.

Heh~ am I finally going to get the mother-daughter talk? Isn't it a bit too early? I haven't even set the wedding's date yet.

"Sera….Listen to Mommy, okay?" for some reason, her smile became a bit restrained.

"Yes?" I was confused. Why does she look like something was wrong?

"Your wedding with Chamber might get a bit...trouble." She said, further confusing me.

"Huh? But why?"

"Well you see. The Bael clan head, Zekram, whom we're now affiliated with has decided to announce you along with Ajuka, Sirzechs and Falbium as the new Satans of the New Satans faction." As soon as she finished her words, I froze in shock.

Zekram Bael? Isn't he replaced by Raviel? Chamber told me about it!

"W-What's it got to do with my wedding?" I quivered slightly, in my mind, I feel like ChamCham doesn't want this wedding to continue.

"Well, it's got nothing to do with that but all I'm asking about it is you. If you weren't a Satan and you're married to someone who once helped Heaven defeat devils. Then there'll be no problem but as a Satan it might hurt your reputation along with ours. So your father….might not like it."

"Then simple! I'll give up the Satan title! Why would I care about it if all it would do is simply get in the way of my wedding with ChamCham!" Pouting, I crossed my arms and resolutely said.

"But your father might not like it. You know how he is…"

"Then screw him!" Then, I mustered the courage to say the words that Chamber gave me.

"Tell him to go fuck himself!"

[Just installed the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and now I'm playing the first part. So far, I'm hooked by the story and the lore lol. If I finished the first part to the third, I might consider making a fanfic out of it, who knows, depends if Mass Effect is famous in this platform and would attract readers.]
