Logan saw how the leader rushed forward and how Inox cowered a little. It must have been from years of being looked down on.
The boy, who had always been treated that way himself, wanted to see the result. He hoped it would go just like he envisioned—that his creature would rise and change the status quo.
As soon as the leader got closer, he stopped and circled around, as if probing one of his tribe member who had changed. The leader knew this adolescent. He was one of the outer-circle males that kept to himself. The marks on his body were the same. The leader prided himself on knowing his tribe and all those who might pose a danger to it.
Logan, from the side, saw how they spoke to each other, but it seemed to lead to a fight.
The male leader began to get aggressive with his stance. He began stomping more, as if to challenge Inox—who stood his ground.
Then all hell broke loose between the two.
