Chapter 10 - Getting Settled to Life in the Palace

 "Yes! I've always wanted a sister. I'm 21 you see. And I've always wanted a little sister of my own. You're only 4 years younger than me but you're still a child. I wish to be someone that you can look up to." I feel touched. I heard she was nice, but who would have thought she would be this caring. "Of course. It makes me very happy to hear that you wish to become close with me." "Great! Would you like me to show you around the Palace?" "Um, that's fine with me. I should learn my way early on so the nobles won't criticize me." "Wait a minute." I turn to see His Majesty the King approaching us. "Leislia, Lerape still needs to settle into the palace. Show her to her new room, we've had a new room prepared for her in the inner palace." "Oh! The one I heard was being renovated?" "Yes. She also needs to get started on etiquette so introduce her to a teacher, and help her on her way to picking up a new Lady in Waiting. This is much but also help to inform her of duties she will need to perform as this Kingdoms Holy Quitom." "Yes Father." Leislia bowes. The King walks away with his attendant. I'm sure he's very busy. "Come sister, let me show you to your room. We have a lot of work to do before you come of age." "Oh course." I follow her. She takes me to a very large and exquisitely furnished room. It seems even bigger than the one I was in when I first entered the palace. "This is your new room sister. Is it to your liking?" "Yes, It's wonderful." There is a main part with a large bed neatly made and a couch and table. Actually two couches facing away from each other. I also see a clear door leading to the bathroom with a very large marble tub and lots of other furnishings. "So Lerape, I'll call for the maids, pick a few of them to serve you, preferably maybe 3 to 5. Later when you are more settled you can pick a noble lady to be your official Lady in Waiting." "Okay. Thank you elder sister, for helping me so much." She smiles at me. "Of course." I watch as she grabs a little golden bell that's sitting on the table and rings it. A minute later I watch as a maid walks in. "Your Highness You've called for me?" The young maid, no older than 25 asks while bowing. "Call for all the maids and the head maid as well." "Yes, Your Highness." "Also bring me and my sister some tea." "Of course." The young maid bowes. "Sit with me, Lerape. We've got a lot of things to discuss."
