The declaration of Yamai Kazamachi's arrival was deafening.
Makima's face darkened, visibly becoming more somber.
She knew that Yamai Kazamachi's power would be immense, or else the Yamai sisters wouldn't have constantly mentioned that name.
However, when she saw it firsthand, she realized her estimation of Yamai Kazamachi's strength had been far too conservative.
"Destroy her."
Makima no longer intended to give the newly emerged Yamai Kazamachi any time to become familiar with her own powers. She decisively launched an attack.
In the sky, a chimera far more grotesque and terrifying than the Gun Devil swung its thousands of arms, like a gigantic serpent devouring the world. It opened its mouth, filled with jagged, sharp teeth, and charged at Yamai Kazamachi with a deafening roar.
Facing this terrifying scene, Yamai Kazamachi's expression didn't change in the slightest.
A flash of vibrant blue light appeared in her eyes.
She summoned her full spiritual power, and the new divine angelic armor she wore granted her even greater power.
In the next moment, the world seemed to freeze.
The rolling sea, the howling wind, and the enormous monster above her head—all seemed to be frozen in the present moment.
But only Yamai Kazamachi knew that she hadn't stopped time.
Even beings like Time Spirits, who could control time itself, couldn't achieve what she had done—let alone a Wind Spirit.
The world hadn't stopped.
She was just too fast.
Her thoughts, reactions, speed—everything had been heightened to an unbelievable level. So much so that the entire world appeared to be frozen in time in her eyes.
"This is the power of the complete Wind Spirit…"
Yamai Kazamachi looked at her own body, feeling the torrent of energy coursing through her. A fire ignited in her heart. "As expected, I'm the only spirit capable of holding my ground against Beast Form Tohka. No doubt about it, this is the strongest spirit I've ever played!"
If you had to pick the strongest spirit among the spirit girls, the answer wouldn't be the highest stat-based Origami Tobiichi, nor the pure spirit Tohka, nor the one who controls time, Kurumi Tokisaki.
It was Yamai Kazamachi, the Wind Spirit formed by the fusion of the Yamai sisters.
In the original story, Beast Form Tohka, from a parallel world, destroyed her own world, killing every living human and spirit, even including the subordinates of Kurumi Tokisaki.
Yet, against such a world-ending entity, Yamai Kazamachi was able to hold her ground all by herself.
She even managed to leave light injuries on Tohka, forcing her to temporarily retreat!
Although part of it was because Tohka wasn't in her optimal state, it still proved Yamai Kazamachi's power.
Yamai Kazamachi raised her head again, looking at the grotesque monster above her, and smirked confidently.
This monster, forcibly pieced together by Makima's control, was indeed powerful. Even the complete Gun Devil would have been unable to resist it. If the Darkness Devil had been here, it would surely have been heavily wounded.
Had she remained as the Yamai sisters, the shield would have definitely shattered from this attack.
But now, the winds had shifted.
Yamai Kazamachi raised her hand, and a long bow, as purple as the twilight wind and sharp enough to hunt giants, appeared in her hand.
This wasn't the Raphael— El Re'em.
Compared to the El Re'em, which was forcibly pieced together from two angels, the bow in her hands was far more complete and far stronger!
This was the true ultimate angel of the Wind Spirit!
"Pierce it, Raphael— El Kanaph!"
Yamai Kazamachi lightly pulled the bowstring, and the still winds began to blow once again.
It was as if all the winds in this world had gathered together for this moment. The small wind eye at the arrow's tip greedily absorbed the spiritual power, emitting an air that made it difficult to breathe.
Just pulling the bowstring to full capacity had already accumulated more power than the El Re'em could ever gather!
Whoosh——————!
The arrow, carrying a terrifying storm, shot out as soon as Yamai Kazamachi released the string.
The path of the arrow twisted in an eerie way, as though space itself had been torn apart, the air bending like crumpled paper.
In this already frozen world, no one could escape the pursuit of this arrow.
The overwhelming storm carried by the arrow instantly pierced the chimera's head.
It was as though the arrow effortlessly pierced through soft tofu, without any resistance, causing the enormous chimera to disintegrate into a blood rain.
The blue light in Yamai Kazamachi's eyes faded.
The flow of time resumed.
Makima's finger was still raised in midair, her mouth open to issue a command, but before she could finish speaking, the connection between her and the chimera was severed.
Her pupils shrank violently, and as the blood rain poured down around her, she couldn't understand what had just happened.
Yamai Kazamachi's speed was simply too fast. With the power of her divine angelic armor, every movement of hers exceeded the speed of light.
Makima hadn't even been able to catch the movement of her drawing the bow or releasing the arrow.
To her, it felt like, in the next instant after issuing the command, the chimera that could have wounded the Darkness Devil exploded into blood rain.
A ray of sunlight fell, illuminating Makima's face.
She dazedly raised her head and looked toward the sky.
The dark clouds above had disappeared without her noticing.
In the sky, a giant hole had suddenly appeared, as if something had pierced through it.
"You..."
Makima's eyes locked onto Yamai Kazamachi.
But as soon as she opened her mouth, the first syllable barely leaving her lips, Yamai Kazamachi vanished from her sight.
It was as if she had teleported.
Before Makima even had time to react, Yamai Kazamachi appeared behind her.
Swish————!
Makima felt a tremor in the chains she had manifested through her deep control.
Then, she lost connection with all of the controlled Devil hunters, Devils, and weaponized Devils.
The fierce winds swept up all the unconscious bodies, immediately carrying them off the battlefield.
And so, only two remained on the battlefield.
Makima took a deep breath and slowly turned around.
Yamai Kazamachi stood with her arms crossed, looking down at her from a higher position.
Though they were so close to each other, Makima knew that the distance between them now spanned an entire dimension.
"I... surrender."
Makima raised both hands and calmly declared her defeat.
But the next moment, an unexpected change occurred.
A giant hand, six fingers long, crossed the space and appeared above Yamai Kazamachi's head.
A smile once again appeared on Makima's lips.
This was her final trump card.
Makima, being as rational as she was, had already considered the possibility of failure in battle, and so she had prepared countermeasures in advance.
She had already arranged for the controlled Doll Devil to be hidden far away. Once the situation turned unfavorable, it would sacrifice itself and use the contract with the Hell Devil to transport Yamai Kazamachi—or now, Wind Yamai Kazamachi—to Hell.
However, her smile quickly froze in place.
Just like when the chimera vanished, the giant hand that appeared in the sky also disintegrated into a rain of blood.
In the sky, a new giant hole appeared.
Looking at Yamai Kazamachi's half-smile, Makima's eyes closed wearily.
"This time, I really surrender."
