Evan observed the way Rosa walked.

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly—no one knew what he was thinking.

"Fortunately."

"Let's eat first."

"Next time, I'll customize a seat or something," he mused.

"The kind that allows people to ride on Dragonite safely.

"This way, if I ride Dragonite again in the future, I won't have to worry about such embarrassing situations."

Evan couldn't help but mention it.

Hearing this, Rosa suddenly felt torn apart inside.

She shot Evan a fierce glare.

She was already embarrassed enough, and now this guy was teasing her?

Too much!

Evan chuckled and turned to walk away.

Isla and the others hurried over to help Rosa, but she refused.

"I just need to take a few steps and get my legs moving."

By the time they reached the orphanage, Rosa had basically recovered.

During dinner, Aunt Jenn kept piling food onto Rosa's plate, looking at her with warmth in her eyes.

Evan was confused.

How did Rosa manage this?

How did she establish such a close relationship with Aunt Jenn and the others so quickly?

But how could Evan possibly know?

In Aunt Jenn's eyes, Rosa was already seen as Evan's future girlfriend.

The two of them were living together now, both young—who knew? Maybe a little spark could turn into something more.

As for Evan and Isla, no one had even considered that possibility.

The main reason? They were too familiar with each other.

Evan probably didn't think of Isla that way either.

Besides, Isla had always treated Evan as an older brother.

So, Aunt Jenn and the others never entertained that idea.

Without a doubt, Rosa was now the most popular person at the orphanage.

That included the children, too.

Everyone adored this kind and skilled "Big Sister Rosa."

Especially because her cooking was absolutely delicious!

If they didn't have to go to school every day, they would probably cling to Rosa all the time.

After dinner, Evan walked Rosa back to the breeding house.

Once they arrived, Rosa handed him a space bag.

"This is for you."

"Whenever you have free time, make some Rare Candy."

"The leaves from the Tree of Beginning are inside too."

"I'm going to take a shower first."

With that, she turned and headed upstairs.

She wanted to wash off the dust from her journey.

Her messy hair made her feel uncomfortable.

Evan, however, didn't think much of it and simply took the space backpack.

Opening it, he examined the materials inside.

"Red Nectar, Yellow Nectar, Pink Nectar, various mints, and berries..."

"The materials are quite complete."

"In fact, some of them are even redundant."

Did Rosa put in everything she had at home?

After muttering to himself for a moment, Evan's eyes fell on a particular box.

It was made of a special metal.

When he picked it up, he realized it was several kilograms heavy.

Despite being only about the size of two palms, its weight hinted at the preciousness of its contents.

A cute Pikachu sticker adorned the box, with a few words written on it.

"Leaves."

Evan opened the box.

Inside, three neatly placed leaves lay atop a soft lining.

At first glance, they looked just like ordinary leaves, but the life energy radiating from them was incredibly potent.

Even more astonishing—despite being stored for who-knows-how-long, these leaves remained a vibrant emerald green, as if they would never wither.

"Actually, this box isn't even necessary," Evan mused.

"I wonder... could I use one of these leaves to summon Mew?"

"If I could summon Mew, maybe I could ask it to gather more leaves from the Tree of Beginning, and then keep the cycle going?"

A bold idea formed in Evan's mind.

But it was just a thought.

It would be incredible if he could actually summon Mew.

But Mew wasn't the kind of Pokémon that would show up just because of a single leaf.

Evan muttered to himself for a while before putting everything away.

However, when he looked down, he realized that Marshadow had emerged from the shadows at some point.

At that moment, it was staring directly at the box in Evan's hand.

Noticing its gaze, Evan smiled.

"I can't give you this."

"I'm going to use it to make candy."

"When the Rare Candy is finished, I'll give you another one."

"Do you understand?"

Hearing this, Marshadow tilted its head, then nodded in agreement.

"Mar~!!"

Which leaves can be eaten?

After thinking about it, Marshadow suddenly disappeared into its own shadow.

A moment later, it resurfaced, holding a dozen identical leaves and handing them to Evan.

"Marsha?"

Are these the same?

Evan was stunned as he stared at the leaves Marshadow had given him.

"You have these?"

"Where did you get them?"

Evan eyed Marshadow's shadow space suspiciously.

Was there anything else good in there?

"Marsha~~"

A Pikachu gave them to me.

…Alright, mystery solved.

"That was definitely Mew."

"Mew loves transforming into different Pokémon and sneaking around stealing food."

"And only that guy has these leaves."

"Hand them over. I'll make you something delicious tomorrow."

Evan understood now.

Pikachu?

His Pikachu didn't have anything like this.

Clearly, it had to be Mew.

Evan's Pikachu could only generate electricity—for now.

If it had leaves from the Tree of Beginning, Evan would have found them ages ago.

When he first caught his Pikachu, the little guy couldn't even dig out a single berry.

Marshadow didn't refuse.

It had intended to give these to Evan anyway.

Since they could be made into something delicious, why not hand them over?

There was no point in keeping them.

The only reason Marshadow held onto them was because they radiated a strange, magical energy that made for a comfortable resting spot.

Otherwise, it wouldn't have carried them around.

But now, it had rested on them enough—better to let Evan use them for something.

That's right—Marshadow had been using these precious Tree of Beginning leaves as a sleeping pad.

Thankfully, Marshadow's body was more like mist.

Otherwise, there might have been a weird smell on them by now.

With these extra leaves in hand, Evan stored them all away.

Perfect.

Tomorrow afternoon, he would start making Rare Candy.

If a Pokémon's level was stuck, a single Rare Candy could give it the boost it needed.

Of course, eating them regularly also strengthened Pokémon, but Evan wasn't that extravagant.

Even if he managed to make some, every piece used would be one less in existence.

Who knew if he'd ever get more Tree of Beginning leaves in the future?

So, better to save them when possible.
