"Why did you bring me here to eat? I wanted to see what you eat in the Star Moon Gym. Do you also eat nectar and bask in the sun like Grass-type Pokémon?"

Chris was sitting in a hotpot restaurant, the same one that Trevor had taken him to before.

It seemed like they were familiar with him because as soon as he arrived, the hotpot and dishes were already served.

"Come on, you're being a little sarcastic. We are humans, not Grass-type Pokémon! Even in the Star Moon Gym, we still eat meat." Trevor shot Chris a look. "If I don't get you out of there quickly, my group of brothers and sisters will probably devour you alive."

"It's one thing to take away the legendary flower of our Star Moon Gym, but using a Shiny Pokémon to show off and defeat our chief senior brother?"

"Well, that can't be helped. If your chief senior brother wasn't strong enough, what else could I do?" Chris replied playfully while already filling his mouth with food using his chopsticks.

After defeating Rudy, Chris left with the legendary flower.

This time, no one dared to voice any objections. Even disciples like Jayden had to consider whether they were strong enough to defeat their chief senior brother before stepping up.

Actually, there was no need to weigh the decision—becoming the chief senior brother wasn't about seniority, but strength. In other words, the chief senior brother was the strongest under the Gym Leader, Robert.

If Rudy could be defeated, then the title of chief senior brother rightfully wouldn't belong to him anymore.

Following Robert's orders, Trevor was tasked with escorting Chris out of the Star Moon Gym as quickly as possible.

It wouldn't be long before news spread that a legendary Pokémon item, the Legendary Flower, had left the Star Moon Gym and fallen into the hands of Chris, a mere cultural student.

Respectable Trainers wouldn't covet the legendary flower in Chris's possession, but shady ones? That was another story.

So, after a simple hotpot meal, Trevor sent Chris to Star Moon Airport and even helped him buy a plane ticket back to Dragon University.

The flight departed at 5:00 PM and arrived in Dragon City at 10:00 PM, where Alexis was waiting to pick him up.

Chris had thought he'd stay longer, but unexpectedly, he ended up returning the same day.

Looking at the legendary flower in his hand, Chris couldn't help but grin.

Uncle Robert sure was generous—giving away a legendary Pokémon item without a second thought.

Come to think of it, he hadn't checked the specifics of this flower yet.

Chris pulled out his handheld device to take a look.

Under the valuables section, he quickly found it—but the name made him frown.

Gracidea

Wait… wasn't this the item that allowed Shaymin to transform into its Sky Forme?

Chris distinctly remembered that in both the games and the anime, this was a common item. There was even a Gracidea flower field in one of the movies.

If this Gracidea was considered a legendary item, wouldn't that mean the world was littered with legendary Pokémon items?

However, in Chris's world, Gracidea didn't exist.

He clicked on it to view the detailed attributes.

Gracidea: While held, it absorbs any negative effects in the surroundings. When the pokemon holding it uses a move, it carries the "Purify" effect, dealing double damage to Poison- and Ghost-type Pokémon. When the negative effect gauge reaches full capacity, it will automatically activate Seed Flare.

Current progress: 25/100.

When a specific Pokémon holds this item, it gains extra power.

Seed Flare is Shaymin's exclusive move.

This must truly be Shaymin's Gracidea. A specific Pokémon gains additional power when holding it, so it can only be intended for Shaymin.

I didn't expect Gracidea to have such a special effect in this world.

For now, I have no way of obtaining Shaymin, so I'll let Gardevoir hold this item instead.

In this world, Mega Evolution stones are not considered standard held items, as they are too rare and serve as a privilege for only the strongest Trainers.

The same applies to Z-Crystals for Z-Moves.

In the games, Pokémon need to hold them to use their power, but in reality, they are manually activated by the Trainer through the Z-Ring.

For Gardevoir, holding Gracidea doesn't provide a significant boost in battle power.

However, against Poison- and Ghost-type Pokémon, it's like having an extra trump card.

Psychic-type moves already have a type advantage over Poison-types. If that damage is doubled, it effectively quadruples the damage.

Wait… what happens if a Pokémon is both Poison- and Ghost-type? Does the multiplier stack again?

Would four times the damage become eight times…?

What kind of Pokémon would be so unlucky as to have both Poison and Ghost types at the same time?

"Lick!"

A Poké Ball suddenly burst open, and Haunter hit Chris with a surprise attack.

Gardevoir emerged from its Poké Ball and handed Chris a Cheri Berry.

The Pokémon with both Poison and Ghost typing are Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar .

However, I have no way to test this right now. Even without Gracidea, Haunter wouldn't stand a chance against Gardevoir, so I can't determine whether the damage multiplier reaches eight times or remains at four times.

Well, even with unrestrained moves, it's difficult to measure the exact effect…

"Haun! (As long as I'm mischievous enough, no one can take advantage of me!)" Haunter declared proudly.

Chris, who could hear Haunter's thoughts, suddenly smirked.

"Somehow, I feel like the day you unlock your full potential isn't far off. And to make sure you don't get too cocky when that happens… I think it's necessary to give you a good beating in advance."

Haunter: (°ロ°〃) Frozen on the spot.

"Stop watching TV with Hariyama, where did you even learn to talk like that?" Chris sighed, patting Haunter.

Ever since Chris gained the ability to hear Pokémon's thoughts, his whole world had opened up.

Blaziken and Greninja were constantly thinking about how to become stronger, while Haunter—a troublemaker who didn't need to train to improve for now—spent his days watching TV dramas. Somehow, he even picked up modern slang, like "Q," and other bizarre phrases from entertainment shows.

Chris was now looking forward to seeing what Haunter would be like after breaking the Spell Ring. Would he really gain Elite-level strength right away? Otherwise, with the way things were now, he was practically useless. Might as well evolve a Gastly earlier…

"Haunter (Got it!)," Haunter said, patting his chest as if making a serious promise.

But deep down, he was already thinking about which TV series to watch with Hariyama later that night.

Chris didn't call him out on it. Instead, he simply took out a Poké Ball and returned Haunter.

He could hear Pokémon's thoughts, but he still couldn't understand everything they said.
