Ezra drained a blood pack to replenish his strength and considered Faith's words as he absentmindedly began to clear the debris.
Did he want Ren to die?
He thought back to the moment he had in the rainforest, that one clear shot that would have ended his life. Why wasn't he able to pull the trigger?
He recalled the strange expression on Ren's face, one of deep, primal fear and childlike innocence and shuddered.
In that moment he couldn't be the one to do it, as if there were a part of him, deep inside his soul that wouldn't allow him to harm him, but what about now?
'...I still want to understand. I want to know why he hates the fire, what made him look like that, why he's done the things he's done, why he hasn't really tried to take Love, why he hasn't tried to kill me or Faith...I just want to know. I want to understand him.'
