The call had barely ended, and I was still trying to make sense of Lorenzo's audacity. He spoke like he ruled the goddamn world untouchable, smug, and calm even when he knew I had him cornered.
And yet, he wasn't wrong.
The bastard had grown too powerful, too dangerous to take down without blood being spilled in the process.
Before I could fully process my thoughts, the office door burst open like a thunderclap.
Francesca stormed in, her heels cracking against the marble as she slammed the door so hard the frame shook.
"You better get that bitch of a girl under control!" she spat, her chest heaving, eyes ablaze. "I helped her disappear. I risked my neck for her! And now she's out there putting me in danger?"
I stood from my chair, eyebrows furrowed. "Francesca, what the fuck are you talking about?"
