Sapphire had just finished recounting all that had transpired in their absence to Aurora, when her gaze suddenly locked with Nyxari's. Her brows drew together in suspicion.
"You brought him with you?" she asked sharply, her eyes looking in his direction, while Aurora who was lost in thought, was brought back to the present by her question, before looking in the direction of her gaze.
Aurora's eyes widened—she had forgotten to ask Nyxari to conceal his true form.
"He… he's my brother," she replied, the words sounding feeble even to her own ears.
Sapphire's eyes flew open. "You had a brother?"
Before Aurora could muster a better explanation, their conversation was cut short by a charged exchange between Theodore and Stephen.
"I believe it's time we summoned the High Judicature," Theodore declared coldly, his eyes never wavering from his brother's face.
"The long-awaited accused has returned—and must now answer for his crimes."
