Dylan stepped into his office—and froze.
There she was.
Olivia.
Seated in a chair. Dylan was an observant person, of course, he noticed the tiredness behind her calmness. He noticed the anger and heartache as well.
She didn't say a word.
Just watched him.
He blinked and cleared his throat, shifting uncomfortably. "Um… I didn't know you were coming here today."
"That's because I didn't come here for you," Olivia replied placidly, her voice low but active. "I have a short meeting with Betty. That's all."
Dylan nodded slowly, slipping his hands into the pockets of his trousers as if to keep them from trembling. "Can we talk? Please. Just ten minutes."
It was the softest Dylan had ever spoken. The gentlest he'd sounded since the day he was ushered into the world.
Olivia let out a scoff, tilting her head. "Talk? About what, exactly? About how you lied to me, again?" Her voice grew louder with anger. "Told me you were going to Ryker when you were off screwing someone else?"
