"Tsunade, that thing on your forehead… if I'm not mistaken, it's called the Yin Seal, right?"
Tsunade smiled with her eyes: "What, you want to learn it?"
Tōshirō said bluntly, "Yeah. I've found that some jutsu consume way too much chakra. I thought it'd be great if I could store up unused chakra for when I need it."
Tsunade glanced at him with a charming expression and chuckled, "Forget it, it's really hard."
"How would I know if I don't try?"
The Yin Seal was clearly a convenient jutsu. Tōshirō figured it must be a really difficult technique, but he had already mentally prepared himself to endure hardship.
Seeing how serious he looked, Tsunade's eyes glimmered mischievously. She then pulled a kunai from the pouch on her thigh and handed it to him. "Alright then, if you insist…"
Tōshirō stared, totally confused by her move.
"Cut it off."
Tsunade said it as if it were nothing.
Tōshirō froze. When he processed what she meant, his face turned green in fright: "Tsunade, are you joking with me!?"
Tsunade beamed, "Not at all."
Tōshirō refused to believe her. He was sure she was using this as an excuse to get back at him for sneaking a bite of her fermented tofu.
"You're definitely joking, right? Right!?" he pressed her again, hoping she'd give him a clear "yes."
Having had her fun, Tsunade let out a soft laugh and finally stopped teasing him: "Alright, alright~ I was just messing with you."
Tōshirō patted his chest, which was still heaving from panic, finally feeling relieved.
I knew it...
No way a jutsu would require that kind of sacrifice to master. What is this, the "Sunflower Seal Technique"?
But just as he was starting to get excited again about learning the technique, Tsunade's next words poured a cold bucket of water over him.
"But joke aside... what I told you wasn't entirely a joke."
Tōshirō: "???"
"To learn this jutsu, there's actually one crucial requirement."
"A requirement?" Tōshirō asked. "Don't tell me you have to be a woman or something."
"Wow~ You're really smart," Tsunade said playfully.
Tōshirō was annoyed: "You're joking again? What kind of jutsu has gender restrictions? I should report you for gender discrimination."
Tsunade lowered her brows and pouted as if on the verge of tears: "Why are you yelling at me? It's not like I invented the technique."
Tōshirō: …
Tsunade quickly broke character, going from scared to laughing: "Did you forget? Back when you first wanted to learn this jutsu, she told you the same thing. Only women can learn it. Don't you remember?"
Tōshirō paused. "She?"
"Loulan…"
Tsunade gave a slight hint, and Tōshirō suddenly remembered. Back then, he had his sights on the Strength of a Hundred Seal and had tried to get the "main account" Tsunade to teach him. But unfortunately, she told him only women could train in it.
So, he gave up.
Come to think of it, just from the name Yin Seal, the "yin" already implies femininity.
Even setting that aside, the jutsu itself was notoriously difficult to learn.
Tsunade reportedly took two years to master it. For Tōshirō, it would probably take at least a year.
In that time, he could probably sort out all the Tailed Beasts and have a luxury car already—why would he still want to ride a busted bicycle?
Besides, within that year, Uchiha Madara would have already launched his attack.
Tōshirō hung his head, visibly disappointed.
Suddenly, a warm touch landed on his head, followed by a gentle voice: "What a shame. Here, let me pat your head."
Following the hand that was ruffling his hair, Tōshirō sneakily glanced at Tsunade's most well-endowed area, smirking lewdly: "Actually, if you really want to comfort me… I'd prefer something more like, hehe…"
Tsunade noticed and immediately became furious.
"Ow, ow—!"
Tōshirō's head suddenly hurt like hell, thanks to Tsunade turning her gentle pat into a death grip.
"Stop! If you keep this up, my head's gonna pop like a watermelon!"
Seeing Tōshirō surrender, Tsunade finally let go.
Rubbing his temples, Tōshirō thought to himself: With Tsunade's grip strength, there are definitely some things I can't let her do… One wrong move and someone could die.
"If you keep messing around, next time I will crush your head," Tsunade said, puffing out her cheeks and glaring at him with mock anger.
Of course, even without the pout, she was always adorably fierce—and seriously terrifying.
Tōshirō nodded obediently, bowing slightly, not daring to go too far.
Tsunade asked, "Do you know why? Why this jutsu can only be practiced by women?"
Well duh, if I knew, would I have asked in the first place?
Of course, that kind of snark stayed in Tōshirō's head. Outwardly, he kept up the model-student act, raising his hand to respond, "Teacher, I don't know."
"You sure yell loud for someone who doesn't know…" Tsunade gave him a mock reproachful glance.
If I didn't yell like that, how else could I feed your need to lecture people… Tōshirō put on an eager, curious face. "Okay, no more teasing—why exactly can only women learn the Yin Seal?"
"Before I answer that, I'm going to test you first," Tsunade said, deeply immersed in her role.
Tōshirō clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Ugh, what a pain."
Tsunade shot him a warning look.
Tōshirō shrank back, forced a fawning smile, and said, "Okay okay, ask away, Tsunade-sensei. I'm all ears."
Tsunade gave a satisfied smile. "Tell me, what are the Three Channels and Seven Chakras?"
That wasn't some obscure knowledge. It had been taught in ninja academy. Tōshirō thought for a moment, then replied, "The so-called 'Three Channels and Seven Chakras' refer to the body's three energy pathways and seven surrounding focal points."
He continued with more detail: "The three channels are the central, left, and right meridians. And the seven chakras are the crown, brow, throat, heart, navel, root, and sacral chakras."
After finishing, Tōshirō smiled proudly as if waiting for praise: "Tsunade-sensei, I wonder if what I said about the chakras and meridians was correct?"
"Student Tōshirō gave an excellent and thorough answer," Tsunade-sensei nodded with a smile and gestured for him to sit down.
Tōshirō grinned. Tsunade was clearly getting too into this teacher roleplay, but he played along and sat down obediently.
With a smile, Tsunade raised one finger. "Now let the teacher give a little supplement. The Three Channels and Seven Chakras—everyone has them, male or female. But there is one part where men and women differ significantly."
Tōshirō blinked. "Which part?"
Tsunade's right hand lowered, resting on the triangular area below her abdomen, and she smiled, "Right here~"
"The Root Chakra?"
Tōshirō identified the location based on her gesture.
"Correct," Tsunade said with a grin.
Tōshirō mulled over why she emphasized that spot. It suddenly clicked—this "Root Chakra" was an abstract way of referring to the uterus.
The uterus is where women nurture new life. With just a little thought, Tōshirō began to understand.
Tsunade asked, "So, do you get it now?"
Tōshirō tilted his head, looking half confused. "Not really… is that really so important to the Yin Seal's principle?"
Like a teacher dealing with a slow student, Tsunade sighed. "Let me ask you—where do you think I store my chakra after practicing the Yin Seal?"
Tōshirō answered instinctively, "Isn't it the diamond-shaped mark on your forehead?"
Tsunade shook her head in denial.
"Nope~"
Tōshirō was surprised. "It's not?"
"It's here, you dummy."
Tsunade patted her belly.
A flash of realization hit Tōshirō—so all the chakra accumulated over time was actually stored in the uterus.
Tōshirō extended his wolfish paw, pressing gently on her soft belly, and asked with feigned concern, "Isn't it risky to store so much chakra here? What if you get pregnant—wouldn't it affect the baby?"
Smack! Tsunade slapped his wandering hand away and gave him an eye-roll. "How long are you planning to take advantage of this?"
"I was just worried about you."
Tōshirō reluctantly pulled back his hand, claiming it was a genuine concern for her health—cross his heart, nothing shady!
Tsunade gave him a look like yeah right: "Sounds more like you're just trying to cop a feel."
At this point, any explanation would just sound like an excuse, and any excuse would sound like confirmation. So Tōshirō changed the subject. "Wait a minute—something doesn't add up."
He figured: if chakra is stored in the uterus, then the diamond-shaped mark shouldn't be on the forehead. Logically, it should be on the stomach—like those mystical silver tattoos that often show up in, uh… certain illustrated books.Uh… maybe I just exposed a weird kink (delete this part).
