Alexander's POV
After the ridiculous luna left with her future head alpha, Dad, Michael, and I were sitting in the packhouse and discussing what to do next.
"Are you really going to go according to her plan?" Dad asked Michael.
"No way in hell am I going to do anything she wants me to do." Michael rolled his eyes, and I sighed in relief. I don't want her or her pack near my mate, this was the last time she would ever be near my mate.
"She hates and would do anything to cause me misery." Michael rested his back on the couch and looked at me. "You can relax. I am not even considering her stupid plan."
"But what if you do?" Dad said. We snapped our heads to look at him like he was an idiot, maybe he was.
"Did you not hear what he said?!" I said with surprise in my voice.
"I heard it loud and clear, Alex, but I also know that she knows that he won't accept her plan."
"No," Michael objected, and there was a look on his face, the same look he had that made everyone scared. "She thinks I would accept it because she knows that I have no other way to get rid of my parents and her pack."
"So, what are you planning to do?" I asked him. I need to know what he is planning to do. I want to make sure he is safe and sound.
He stood up without answering me and started walking towards the door. He kept his hand on the door knob "Alex, pack your bags. We are leaving" and he left.
I turned to Dad for an explanation, but it seems like he doesn't know either. I got up from the couch and followed him to his room–his things are still in there–and locked the door behind me when I entered the room.
"We need to talk," I said, eyeing him walking around the room and packing his bag.
"About what?"
"Michael, we need to talk!"
He threw the cloth he had in his hand on the bed and turned to face me–he was glaring at me, but same diff.
"Just do as I say," his voice was cold.
"I am not the pack members whom you would order and I would follow without question, Michael. I am your mate," I almost growled at him, alpha pride problem, sadly.
"Yes, you are my mate, and that's the only reason I am taking you. Don't make me leave you alone here and go for whatever the fuck I was planning for"
I stepped closer to him. "I won't let you go. I will tie you somewhere if I have to." I stood in front of him, almost hovering over him.
He rolled his eyes and turned around.
"You wouldn't tie me."
I wrapped my hands around his waist and took in his scent. "And why do you think that?" I kissed his neck. The kisses were gentle, nothing that would make either of us hot and heavy, but he stiffened then relaxed a little and continued packing.
"Because you don't want to hurt me."
"I am tying you down, not hitting you."
"There is a reason I like to hold you when we have sex," he said in a small voice.
"You can tell me anything, Michael," I whispered in his ear.
I looked at his hands and saw them shaking–a bit–so I held them gently and tangled our fingers.
"It's better if you don't know some things. You will get angry, and there is no point. The one you should be angry at is dead," he said while looking at our hands. He was nervous because his palms were sweating.
"Okay," I said in the softest voice I could muster, and saw our hands as he played with my skin and fingers. "Don't tell what happened, but at least tell me what you are planning."
"I can't. You will see it tomorrow." Before I could ask anything, he turned his face to look at me and looked at me with the most vulnerable look I have seen on his face. "Please don't ask why. At least this time, I am taking you when I am going somewhere."
I nodded because I agree with him, he never takes anyone with him, and I don't know why. He is the beta of the pack; he is surrounded by a lot of people who care for him and whom he cares for, but he always looks so lonely.
I guess it's true. No matter how many people you are surrounded by, you can still feel lonely.
