It was just your average day, with a little extra added security details. Such was the nature of the potential for danger this time around. There was no longer any guarantee that anyone was safe. Even so, the deep sense of faith, and trust in their goddess is what kept the worrying at bay.
Suddenly, an airborne detail of winged humans returned, way ahead of schedule, with worried looks on their faces. The leader of this detail, reported directly to Night Silver. "Goddess, Mother, there are ripples of some kind of battle going on, they seem to originate from the north. And are beyond what we can handle…"
Night Silver listened, and began contemplating. Let me see what's going on here… What? Why are they flying here? She handed off the child she had been cuddling to someone else. "I'm going to check-"
"Mother! Big Sister is being attacked!"
"What?! How dare they attack my baby." She flew off in a fit. This attack was coming from the east. Fortunately it's not too far away.
~ Tus Nadair's Eastern Boundary ~
This area was where Ohiea & Samhra were living. They were some of the eldest children, and while not as strong as their parents or uncles, they were more than capable of handling any other threat. Though, that was under the assumption that they wouldn't be attacked by players, that was a whole nother ball game.
"How dare you attack so unruly!"
"Shut up you pathetic dragon! Die and give me your skin. I promise I'll, PUT YOUR CORPSE TO GOOD USE!!!"
The player was a powerful level 100 likely a brawler type given the bulky build, and he had company with another level 100 a priest type, or maybe a mixed class, it was hard to tell at a glance. There could have been twenty times as many of Night Silver, and Undine's offspring here, it wouldn't change the situation.
The brawler began a flurry of tosses, throws, and blows. He was being meticulous with it, wanting to get as many other materials as possible. After all, it would be a damn shame to lose out on materials when the difference in strength was basically so vast, that even thinking of resisting was already difficult.
This really hurts, and I'd be dead by now if not for mother's blessings, and my fae companion. How's Ohiea doing… She's out cold? Figures she'd hit her limit before me.
"YOU UNRULY BASTARDS! HOW DARE YOU HURT MY BABIES!"
The pair of players, in a sudden panic, looked around, terrified. "Who said that? Where are you?"
She appeared, landing an empowered punch on the mage, this knocked him out cold. "Right here."
The Brawler's face twisted in fear, ignoring the clear exposure that he was seeing right now. He remembered a lone druid from Yggdrasil. The single strongest player, and it wasn't close. Only world items or a modified dungeon raid party could take her out back then… But now, she seems even more terrifying. I have no hope of defeating her one on one.
"The Druid of Night Silver. Never thought I'd see you here, in this world. I still remember what you did to my capture party." The hulking brute said, trying his best to hide that stammering of his. "How about we make a deal, you stop interfering in my efforts here, and I'll give you a portion of the processed materials. What do you say?"
Night Silver, enraged at the prospect, silently cast the Dryad Drive buff… She was absolutely livid. "HOW DARE YOU! Those girls are my precious little girls, I reared them from my very own womb! And you dare to speak so casually about ending their lives… Prepare to die!"
The brawler, at a heavy disadvantage here, was helpless against Night Silver. It would have been a different story if the whole group had been present, but there was a rumor that she was completely unbeatable in a 1 on 1 match. A rumor, actively being proven true with every single attack that landed, it didn't chip away at the brawler's health. It took out worryingly large chunks.
Samhra relaxed, knowing that her mother had things handled. And went to check on her sister Ohiea. Good, she's still alive. I'll provide some healing- huh? It looks like mother has already healed Ohiea. Thank you, mother.
After a 5 minute dolling out of punishment, the brawler had been thoroughly punished. There wasn't a single part of his body that wasn't bruised or bleeding. Night Silver did a twirl, and slammed the bastard into the ground, the crater formed from this through was larger than the one she made back when fighting Moigit and Frayrsis.
"Now, I know that even if I kill you now, you'll revive through some means. So I'll give you a warning." She got her game face on. "Never attack my children ever again. [Stream of Lava]"
The crater that the Brawler had been in was filled with magical lava. And he died in a silent incendiary agony. The other player had finally woken up, and looked around, holding his head in pain. "Damn that really hurt, an attack like that… I'm probably somewhere close to a 10th of my total HP."
"Yeah, that sounds about right. You damn bastard, you attempted to kill my children. You're lucky I didn't outright kill you. I want some information." She grabbed the mage by the collar. "Where is your base?"
The mage remained silent, knowing that the answer to that question was not one he could freely give. Fighting this woman is not something we can do on a whim. "I'll never tell a demon like you that!"
"A demon, huh, that's a new one…"
"We are fighting to spread our magic to the humanoid races! So they may begin to thrive."
"Idiot! You dare make that claim, in my presence! And after you dared to attack my children. You're wannabe child-killers. And there's nothing else to it! Now pay with your life."
Night Silver ripped the mage in half. The body disappeared, likely through the revival method he and his guild used.
"Mother, you were awesome! Will I get to be as strong as you some day?"
"It's possible you and all your siblings may surpass me. I'm glad you're safe, I love you so much." She shook, holding her daughters in her arms.
