The long battle was finally over.
Obito was dead.
Pain was defeated.
Black Zetsu was gone.
The threat that had been hanging over the Ninja World for so long… had ended.
Shika had done what he planned to do from the start. He had saved the Jinchuriki and stopped the Akatsuki. Everything was hunki dori now. With the war finally behind them, Shika gathered his team—Suigetsu, Haku, Kimimaro, Guren, Fuu, and the others—and opened a portal back to the Hidden Leaf Village.
He didn't care, he was so done now. He just wished to get back to his cosy bed now.
The village was peaceful, the sky clear. But as they walked through the gates, Shika knew what he had to do next.
He went straight to the Hokage's office.
Tsunade was already there, sitting at her desk, sipping tea when a fucking portal opened inside her office, alerting everyone almost immediately.
Caused quite a bit of trouble especially when Shika was still wearing his mask.
"You've got some nerve entering Konoha like this," she all but threatened.
"Huh?"
"OH sorry sorry, wait." Shika immediately removed the mask, making Tsunade's eyes raise up but still she was vigilant.
Shika gave a tired smile. "Well, long time no see, Lady Hokage."
For a few seconds Tsunade kept on blinking like trying to digest what happened before finally she roared out.
"You brat!" shouted her.
For the next hour, he explained everything. From the moment he left the village, to building his secret team, saving the Jinchuriki, fighting Pain. He kept the Rinnegan part to himself though.
Tsunade listened silently at first… but soon her eye twitched.
"You fought who?!"
"Obito. Pain. Black Zetsu," Shika said calmly.
"Who are they?!"
"One's a love-struck avenger, another is a masochist terrorist and lastly... well the last one I'm not sure myself. For the time being let's say it's an intellectual goo with a mouth."
Tsunade slammed her forehead on the table.
"This is giving me a headache," she groaned. "You started an underground army, picked a fight with the Akatsuki, kidnapped Jinchuriki, and saved the world!"
Shika scratched his head. "Pretty much."
Tsunade just kept on looking at Shika with those glaring eyes. Others beside him were also just standing there, enjoying their leader's situation much to Shika's dismay.
"Where is Sasuke?" Tsunade asked.
"Most likely cuddling with his brother. Maybe we'll see more than one Uchiha in this village again soon."
Tsunade's headache came back with vengeance at this. Only the ramifications of dealing with Itachi's case was giving her shivers.
"So, mind telling everyone I'm back? I kind of promised someone a ramen dinner once I'm done saving the world." Shika smiled, though the glint in Tsunade's eyes didn't arise any confidence in Shika.

[Much Much Later]
Shika sat at the old familiar ramen stall, the smell of miso broth and grilled pork in the air. It was warm, peaceful… and yet, he felt a little nervous.
Across the table, Hinata sat with her arms crossed, lips in a small pout, and eyes burning with quiet vengeance.
"You said… we'd have ramen when you came back," she said, voice soft but stern.
Shika rubbed the back of his head, a sheepish smile on his face. "I did. Just… didn't think it'd take almost two years."
Hinata huffed. "You promised."
"I know," he said gently. "And I'm sorry. I had a lot to deal with."
She looked at him for a moment, then her expression softened. "You should have taken me with you."
"And have the entire Hyuga clan chase me through the Elemental Nations, thanks but no thanks."
Hinata sighed and looked down at her bowl as the steam rose between them. "You scared me. Everyone thought you—"
"I'm sorry," Shika immediately said.
There was silence for a moment, and Shika stared at his own ramen, unsure of what to say.
Then, Hinata reached forward and flicked him on the forehead.
"Ow!"
"That's for making me wait so long," she said with a smile finally forming on her lips.
Shika laughed. "Fair enough."
They both began eating, the tension melting away with every bite. It was quiet, but in a good way. No more wars, no more missions—just the two of them at a ramen stall.
"I missed this," Hinata said after a while.
"Yeah me too, I needed my hamster Hinata so much," Shika replied, his tone softer now.
Her glare came back. But there was no heat in her eyes this time. Though Shika wouldn't mind some heat if she understood what he meant.
After some time she finally looked at him.
She looked at him. "Don't disappear again, okay?"
At this, Shika's mind went back to the system and the JJK world. The system still gave him the option to continue this journey and all but who made him a Nara?
"I won't," he said with a smile. "Not unless you come with me of course."
Hinata's cheeks turned pink, and she looked away shyly.
'As for the system, fuck it. You can't expect a Nara to work this hard. I have done my part, it's time for me to fucking relax.
As for JJK work and the system, troublesome.
