Thanatos left the Underworld.
At the same time, with Thanatos departing, the appearance of the Titan-blooded giants was swiftly noticed by both the Sea Realm and the Heavenly Realm, prompting them to take action.
This wasn't surprising.
In the period following the destruction of the Golden Age, but before the true creation of the Silver Age, the sudden emergence of a new race was already strange.
The Silver Age is the true era where many things flourish. It is in this age that humanity gave birth to heroes, defeated all the demi-human races, and firmly established themselves as the true rulers. After destruction and creation, the seeds of civilization were sown, leading into the Bronze and Iron Ages, which belonged to humanity.
And now!
The development of the mythological world followed this pattern. But the appearance of the giant race, especially one infused with Titan blood, was extremely bizarre. It was something that demanded serious attention.
Even a fool could see who was behind this, but knowing their identity didn't mean the matter was resolved. There was still much to understand. Otherwise, bigger problems could arise.
…
"Roar!"
In the surface world, amidst wild roars, towering giants over 15 meters tall appeared. Their skin, bronze-like in color, made them look like walking fortresses. These giants, though humanoid, radiated terrifying strength and carried a special divine power.
These beings, gradually populating the surface, were beginning to thrive and reproduce.
Meanwhile, in the shadows, gods silently observed the unfolding events.
"Do you think this is the work of that one?"
"Shut up!"
"Is that something we should be discussing?"
"Just keep watching."
…
The hidden gods, who had been about to exchange words, fell silent. Some things were best left unsaid. Even if they had an idea of what was happening, speaking it out loud would not end well. These matters were extremely important, no doubt about it.
Besides the gods lurking in the shadows, Thanatos was also there.
…
Thanatos remained quiet, but in his heart, he thought, "As expected! This special bloodline indeed belongs to the Titans. However, it's not pure—it's a diluted form of Titan blood."
"Moreover…"
As he observed carefully, Thanatos pondered further.
Moments later, he mused, "There's another issue. The laws carried by the Titans have been weakened into divine power. No! It would be more appropriate to call it an innate ability."
Gods, from the moment of their birth, are bound to their unique laws. Through mastering these laws, they grow stronger and advance—that's the path of a god. It's how they ascend.
But the Titans are different. As the offspring of Gaia and Uranus, two immensely powerful Ancient Gods, the laws they carried were embedded within their divine bodies. For the Titans, their divine bodies held these laws as an inherent part of them.
To put it another way, ordinary gods' laws function as a form of power they must train to perfect. For Titans, their laws are like a natural instinct.
This inherent difference means that while other gods can improve through cultivation, the Titans' natural-born gifts make them exceptionally powerful. This is an undeniable fact at any time.
Because of this, the laws embodied by the Titans are terrifying. Their natural instincts combined with their laws make them nearly unstoppable.
These giants, infused with a similar divine power—no, it should be called an innate ability—were indeed something very special and formidable.
As Thanatos contemplated these facts, other gods continued to observe from the shadows.
Nereus, for instance, who was like a steward of the Sea Realm, held a very high position there.
To be precise…
The realms of the Underworld, Sea, and Sky had their unique situations.
In the Sky Realm, Prometheus might appear busy, but he held no real power. He was merely a servant to Zeus, who ruled the Sky with absolute authority.
Of course, this is typical for any god-king. However, the Sky Realm's dynamics were especially unusual, with Zeus embodying both tyrant and dictator in the most extreme sense.
The Underworld was different. Hades rarely concerned himself with affairs, leaving everything in the hands of Persephone.
Yet even she wasn't too involved, passing most of the responsibilities to Hypnos and Thanatos. As a result, the Underworld was largely left to their management.
Finally, there was the Sea Realm.
Poseidon didn't bother with anything at all, entrusting Nereus with full control. This had always been Poseidon's nature and hadn't changed over time.
At this moment, Nereus quietly observed the unique giant race.
"Titan-blooded giants!"
"Indeed…"
Nereus whispered softly, "Many things are beginning to surface now. Father, is this your doing, along with…"
He shook his head and stopped speaking. Some things, while one might be aware of them, must never be said aloud. Even if it was like a fragile layer of paper covering the truth, breaking through it wasn't something just anyone was qualified to do.
If you recklessly pierced that thin veil, it could spell disaster.
As Pontus' son, and his eldest child, Nereus knew a bit about the situation. But only a little. And that was all he needed to know.
Delving deeper wouldn't be wise, as it would undoubtedly lead to trouble.
