Chapter 27 - SAMAEL

The only reason I will go to the temple is to see Samael. There is something I must confirm—and I have a lingering suspicion that he holds the answer I need.

His words, cryptic and half-hidden behind a veil of prophecy, have ignited a dangerous theory in my mind. If what he says is true—that a Paladin's loyalty need not come from God—then maybe there is no God here at all, just forces of destiny and mortal ambition.

Yet it is not only his challenge to faith that troubles me. Divinity itself haunts my thoughts. I have not visited the Temple since I fell into that deep, unrelenting unconsciousness.

Now, as I prepare to return, I wonder: will my divinity be my salvation or my undoing? I recall the old tale of Madeleine's affliction—an illness born of low divinity—and I shudder at the possibility that I could meet the same fate if I do not tread carefully.
