"Imogen?" Isaac's voice came from the kitchen doorway. "Everything okay? I heard you..."
He trailed off when he saw my face. His eyes moved to the television, then to the water bottle on the floor, then back to me.
"What happened?"
I pointed at the TV with a trembling finger. "They just... They just tried to... Did you not see it?"
Isaac crossed the room in three quick strides and knelt beside the couch. "What are you talking about?"
"The news. They just ran a story about Elijah and me. About how we were married and I was presumed dead and now his marriage to Deborah might be illegal." The words tumbled out in a rush. "Someone told them. Oh, my God, This is Elijah's doing."
"Are you sure? Maybe you misunderstood..."
"No, I am fucking sure."
