Chapter 117 - Magneto?

UNIVERSE 11052

In the pale light of early morning, Jean heard strange noises coming from the woods behind the mansion. Curious and a little worried, she decided to check it out.

As she walked deeper into the trees, she spotted someone moving in the shadows. Before she could call out, Todd suddenly jumped out and swung a big tree branch at her. The hit knocked Jean to the ground.

"Ugh—Todd?! What are you doing?" she shouted as she scrambled to her feet.

Todd didn't answer. Instead, he came at her again, swinging wildly. Jean dodged and used her telekinesis to push him back. The force knocked him into a bush, but he quickly leaped out, landing a light kick that made her stumble.

Breathing hard, Jean backed away and tried to calm herself. "I don't want to hurt you," she warned. But Todd was acting strange—his eyes looked unfocused, like he wasn't fully himself.

Suddenly, Jean heard a growl from behind. She turned and saw a raccoon baring its teeth. Jean jumped back just in time, using her powers to gently move the animal away. Todd took advantage of her distraction and tackled her to the ground.

They wrestled briefly, rolling over dirt and leaves. Jean finally focused her energy and gave Todd a strong telekinetic shove, sending him flying backward into an old, abandoned well nearby.

Panting and brushing leaves from her clothes, Jean stood up. "That was... weird," she muttered. As she looked up at the sky, something even stranger caught her attention.

A huge, shiny silver sphere slowly floated down from the clouds. It hovered silently above the forest, then opened up with a soft mechanical hum.

Jean stepped closer, trying to understand what it was. But before she could react, metal tentacles shot out, wrapping around her arms and legs. She screamed as they pulled her into the glowing sphere. In moments, it sealed shut and zoomed back into the sky—leaving the forest empty and silent once again.

Meanwhile, in the calm off the coast of Hawaii, a teenage boy named Alex Summers relaxed on his surfboard, enjoying the peaceful morning. He had no idea that something deep inside him was about to awaken.

Without warning, a bright surge of energy burst from his hands. Shocked and scared, Alex watched the glowing beam shoot across the waves, striking a large shark in the distance.

The creature sank beneath the surface, and Alex, stunned by what had just happened, floated in the water with his hands still glowing with a strange, powerful light.

Back at the Xavier Institute, Logan entered the Cerebro chamber. Professor Xavier sat calmly, his eyes were closed and focused.

"Logan," Xavier said, opening his eyes, "I've detected a new mutant. His name is Alex Summers—Scott's long-lost brother."

Logan raised an eyebrow. "What? That's not possible. I thought Alex died in a plane crash."

"We all believed that," Xavier replied. "But it seems he survived. It's a miracle. Bring Scott to the hangar—we're going to Hawaii."

A short time later, in the hangar, Xavier gently broke the news to Scott.

"Your brother is alive, Scott. We've found him."

Scott's eyes widened. He was silent for a moment, overwhelmed. "All this time… I thought he was gone. I should've looked harder… I just accepted it."

"There's still time to make things right," Xavier assured him.

Without delay, Xavier, Logan, and Scott boarded the sleek Blackbird jet. Engines roared to life as they took off into the sky, heading toward the shores of Hawaii.

---

After dragging himself onto the sunny shores of Hawaii, Alex Summers stared at his glowing hands in disbelief. Fascinated but frustrated, he let out a groan and buried his face in his palms, unsure of how to control the strange power surging through him.

From behind, a calm yet commanding voice spoke, "I can help you."

Alex turned to see Magneto standing nearby.

"I don't need help," Alex snapped, already turning to walk away.

Unfazed, Magneto stepped forward. "You have great power, Alex. But without control, it could destroy you. I've come to invite you to the sanctuary—a place for mutants like you."

Back at the Xavier Institute, the rest of the X-Men were preparing for a beach trip. Kitty, Ben, Kurt, and Evan pulled the sleek X-Hummer out of the garage, calling out playfully for Rogue to hurry.

Rogue came jogging out, brushing her hair back. "Sorry! I couldn't find Jean anywhere, so I just left her a note."

As she approached the vehicle, she nearly stumbled over a black cat lounging near the steps. "Ugh, I hate cats," she muttered, stepping around it.

As the X-Hummer drove off, none of them noticed the cat's eyes glowing briefly.

Back on the steps, the cat shifted and turned into a humanoid, she was none other than Mystique. Pulling out a hidden communicator, she spoke coolly into it, "Lance, change of plans. The X-Kids are on the move."

---

In Hawaii, the Blackbird landed quietly on the beach. The X-Men stepped out, following strange footprints in the sand. Logan knelt and examined them, his voice low and serious. "Magneto's been here."

Inside the jet, Xavier tried to reach out to Magneto with his telepathic powers. Suddenly, the entire jet began to lift off the ground, shaking with magnetic energy.

Logan sprang into action, sprinting across the sand and leaping onto the rising Blackbird's landing gear. He held on tightly, climbing with grit and determination.

Inside, Xavier and Magneto's minds clashed in a fierce psychic battle. Without speaking, Magneto extended his hand—and with a flick of his wrist, metal groaned. Wolverine was ripped from the jet and thrown into the ocean below with a splash.

Back on the shore, Cyclops stayed behind, his gaze fixed on the Blackbird as it disappeared into the sky. Behind him, footsteps approached.

"Scott," a familiar voice said.

Cyclops turned—and his face lit up with joy. "Alex!" he shouted, rushing forward. The two brothers embraced, laughing with surprise and relief.

Alex's tone grew serious. "Magneto found me. He invited me to his sanctuary. Why don't we go together?"

Scott hesitated, then nodded. Alex held out his hand, revealing a strange silver sphere. The brothers stepped inside. With a low hum, the sphere sealed itself and blasted upward into the sky, leaving the beach silent once more.

---

High above Earth, the Blackbird soared through space, approaching Magneto's massive space station—Asteroid M.

As the jet docked, the X-Men stepped out onto the metallic platform. Magneto stood waiting, his cape billowing in the artificial wind. "Welcome, my friend. Welcome," he said to Xavier with a calm smile.

Xavier looked around, unsettled. "Magneto, what is this? What are you planning?"

Magneto stepped forward, his voice cold but steady. "I have brought the strongest mutants together. Now, both the X-Men and the Brotherhood will face a trial by fire. A test of strength, unity, and survival."

"The team that wins earns a place here—in my sanctuary, away from human fear and hatred. The losers… go home."

---

Back at the mansion, Ororo had just returned. As she headed upstairs, a strange cat crossed her path. But as she looked closer, the cat transformed before her eyes—into Mystique.

Storm narrowed her eyes. "You'd better have a good reason for being here."

Mystique stood her ground. "I'm here for my own reasons. Don't test me."

Without hesitation, Storm raised her hand and unleashed a powerful surge of electricity. Mystique tried to fight back, but Storm was faster—one swift punch knocked Mystique out cold.

Before Storm could recover from the surprise, a glowing silver sphere descended from the sky. Metal arms burst out, grabbing Storm and pulling her inside. With a flash, the sphere vanished, taking her away.

---

Meanwhile, chaos erupted on the beach.

The X-kids found themselves ambushed by the Brotherhood.

Blob came crashing in like a wrecking ball, knocking everyone off their feet. Kitty tried to phase out, but the strain caused her to faint. Avalanche sent a rockslide toward Kurt—he teleported, but the rocks teleported with him, knocking him unconscious.

Pietro zipped past, trapping Spyke in the sand. Rogue managed to slam Todd into an overturned car and reached out to absorb his powers.

Just before she could, time froze.

Ben had activated his Time Pause ability. The world around him stood still—everyone frozen mid-motion. Breathing hard, he looked around at the chaos.

Then, Avalanche said with a smirk "It's over, we have won."

Blob pointed up. "Our ride's here."

Five glowing spheres slowly descended from the sky.

And soon Avalanche, Blob, Pietro and Rogue entered inside of it.

But Ben wasn't having it. He hurled a blast at one of the spheres, destroying it in a burst of fire and metal. As he aimed for the others, they suddenly shot up into the sky and vanished.

---

Wolverine, who was on an island, going towards the Xavier Mansion, he noticed on the beach Sabretooth was standing there, ready for the fight. The two enemies locked eyes—and then, with a roar, charged into battle.
