CHAPTER 124: BREAKING POINT I

James clenched and unclenched his fists, gritting his teeth. "Diana, I did that for you" he growled.

"After Grandma and Nicodemus told me about the situation, I thought it was serious. I didn't think twice—I just called him to check on you immediately."

"Diana, I was worried," he said, his voice strained. "I couldn't just sit back and do nothing."

"Well, I didn't want that!" Diana shouted, tears streaming down her face. "I need my husband to check on me, not my doctor." She wiped her tears away furiously and turned from him.

"And if you were so worried, its enough reason to pick up your fucking phone and call me"

James ground his teeth. He wanted to punch something, anything, to release his frustration, but there was nothing in sight. He wasn't built for all this emotional, romantic stuff—why did his wife insist on it?

"And what about when I asked Leo to take you out? You could have told me you were too tired."

"How could I, when I was still so angry with you?" Diana snapped back.

"So its okay for you not to call me because you're angry right. And its not okay for me?" James retorted.

"James the difference between the both of us is that, i was angry and you were worried whether i would pick. So you see, it doesn't fucking relate" Diana screamed, as the tears continued pouring.

James' heart pounded in his chest. He knew he had made a mistake, but he couldn't admit it. He opted instead for defence.

"Look, Diana, the things you want from me... they're not things I know how to do."

"Oh really? Let me guess—your other girlfriends would agree with you, right? Maybe I should ask them."

James' face darkened, his voice hardening. "What did you just say?" A vein seemed to pop in his forehead as the air in the room grew suffocating. Diana could feel the tension as it became harder to breathe.

"I'll ask you again," James said, barely controlling his anger. "What did you just say?"

Diana turned to face him, tears falling freely now. "You heard me, James. Your other girlfriends."

James froze, his eyes narrowing as he tried to process her words.

"Cassandra came to see me today," Diana continued, her voice shaking. "She told me all about it. She said the only thing she, I, and your other girlfriends have in common is that you're good in bed. Can you imagine? As if that's the only thing that matters. It made me wonder just how many women have you been with, James? The man I'm falling deeper in love with... and now, I have to question everything. Can you imagine the pain, the anger, the jealousy?"

"This is bullshit, Diana," James retorted. "How could you believe Cassandra without even talking to me first?"

"Talk to you about what, James?" Diana shot back, her voice rising. "This is a woman you've been with for a while. Why shouldn't I believe her? Tell me, James. Tell me!" she shouted, her frustration boiling over.

"Diana, I had a life before you came into the picture. Fine, it wasn't perfect, but it was mine. And I never claimed to be a saint or a virgin."

Diana let out a sharp laugh, one that didn't reach her eyes. "So now you mock me, right?"

"That's not what I'm doing, Diana! How many times do I have to say it? Cassandra was just a fling and—"

"Well, fuck you, James!" Diana interrupted, her voice breaking. "I don't care anymore. I'm tired. Tired of you, of this house, of everything." She wiped her tears angrily. "I've been trying for months to keep up with you."

James, his face taut with barely restrained anger, asked, "What are you saying, Diana?"

"I'm saying, if I hadn't gotten pregnant, this 'closeness' between us wouldn't even exist. Cassandra was right—there's no difference between me, her, or any of the other women you've been with." Diana's voice cracked. "I'm leaving. I'll stay at a hotel because my parents will just send me back if I go to them. Don't come looking for me. I'll have your child, and we'll share custody."

James finally lost control. His eyes burned with an intense red fury as he glared at her. His eyes burned with an intensity that chilled the room. He transformed into a creature of shadow.

His eyes had turned completely red, like a deep furnace burned within their depths. Diana could barely look at him because her eyes burned from the effort.

His aura was chilling and frightening, and his forehead seemed to grow smoky horns. At that moment, he looked like the devil himself risen from hell.

Diana felt a wave of panic crash over her, her breath hitching in her chest. She couldn't look away from him, and the life seemed to drain from her body as his rage consumed the room.

James clenched his fists so hard his knuckles bled, trembling with the effort to restrain himself. "Look away from me, Diana!" he shouted, his voice thundering in the suffocating silence.

But she couldn't. Her chest tightened as her breath grew shallow, panic filling her mind. It wasn't until James, with all the willpower he could muster, turned his back to her that she finally gasped for air, collapsing onto the floor.
