"Ow! It burns!"
"Then who told you to get injured? Now, stay quiet." Amy scolded while dabbing the medicine on my scratches and injured elbow.
I sighed and looked towards Sonica. She was just sitting there on the grass with her legs crossed, holding her right elbow and staring at the ground. I just kept looking at her and realised.. she is beautiful.
Soon Amy finished putting the medicine and I looked at the bandage. "Thank you, Amy."
"You are welcome, Sonic. But next time please be careful." She squeezed my hand softly.
"Yes, I will. Uh.. Why don't you help Sonica, too? She is also injured.." I withdrew my hand, and rubbed the back of my neck. My cheeks turning red as I remembered the bush incident.
"Mhm, sure." She nodded and went towards Sonica, sitting beside her. "Hey.."
"Hm?" Sonica looked at Amy then at the sky.
"I see your right elbow is hurt. I can put som-"
"No, I am fine."
"But-"
"Please leave me alone, Amy.."
"Okay, then.."Amy sighed and went towards the tents. "The meds are there if you change your mind."
Sonica sighed, then looked up at the sky and looked at the ground again.
My instincts were screaming to just go talk to her, know her more and maybe feel the warm again. But no, Sonic! You. Can. Not.
So I quickly went inside the tents where others were.
It had also started to become dark outside.
After some time we lightened the campfire. Huge wooden logs were kept for us to sit on, at a safe distance from the fire. Amy, Knuckles, Sticks and Tails sat on the logs. But Sonica was sitting far from us. So I went towards her..
"Sonica.. come join us."
She didn't reply.
She just stared at the ground.
"Anything wrong?" I asked, rubbing the back of my neck.
"Why would you want me to join you? You guys have just met me a few days ago. How can you trust me?"
I blinked in confusion, "uh.. what do you mean? You are our friend."
Then she looked down and whispered, "That's what you all claim. But.."
"But..?"
She suddenly stood up, making me startled. But I also stood up and stared at her.
She didn't make any eye contact this time. Ha, the tables have turned.
"Let's go." I walked back to the bonfire,. smirking.
This was gonna be fun..
Then Knuckles shouted, "MARSHMALLOW TIME!!!" And everyone was like "Yayy!" except Sonica. . .
Amy gave each of us a stick with marshmallows and we placed them over the fire and roasted them very patiently, cracking jokes or rapping to pass the time.
And soon it was tome to eat!
"Mm~ Sweet!" Amy exclaimed contently while eating the marshmallows.
Everyone else nodded and continued eating. But then Sticks glanced at Sonica's direction and started laughing. "Your's got too burnt!"
"Oh-" She seemed to snap out of her thoughts and looked at thr marshmallows on the stick she was holding. They had indeed burnt up real bad. . .
The reaction was kinda cute.
"Aw, that's okay. You can roast some more." Amy chuckled while placing the packet beside Sonica.
I couldn't help but offer her mine, without a second thought.
It was too late to back off now, I was already too embarrassed.
And.. surprisingly, she.. accepted the marshmallows I gave. And.. and now my heart was beating faster.
"I.. don't like marshmallows." I lied and tapped my foot repeatedly against the ground, looking away
"Oh, since when?"
"Ugh, since now-"
Meanwhile, Sonica was eating very slowly as if she was thinking about something.
"I wonder what Eggman must be doing? I hope everything is fine.."
"Yeah, me too."
"We can just hope for now."
"Come on guys, we are here to enjoy. STOP worrying!!"
(Side Note : When Sonic and his friends were on the camp, Eggman didn't attack the village. He was working on this robots and had planned something.)
I cracked some jokes again. Everyone burst out laughing well, except for Sonica. And when we were busy laughing, she stood up and walked away, lying on the grass a little far from us. Her head rested on her folded arms as she stared at the sky.
I lost count of how many times I glanced at her today.
Then Amy whispered, "Guys, have you ever seen Sonica smile? or laugh..?"
We shook our heads.
"No." worded Tails.
"We have met her since like.. 2 or 3 days? Um...I have never seen her smiling or laughing." Amy glanced at Sonica.
"On top of that we are called the goofy bunch, are not we funny anymore?" Knuckles scratched his head.
". . ."
"I wish we could make her smile at least once." Amy stood up from the log.
Then an idea popped up in my head and I whispered something into Knuckles ear.
He nodded.
Amy, Tails and Sticks were obviously confused and curious. Then I went towards Sonica, and Knuckles walked behind me.

I was laying peacefully on the ground, diving deep into my sea of thoughts and doubts. Just then Sonic and Knuckles got closer to me, so I sat up immediately, suspicious and alert.
What did they want now?
"Hey, Sonica?" Sonic took the lead and now these two were sitting on my either sides, like a sandwich.
"What is it?" I asked, looking at Sonic.
"It's nothing. I just wanted to ask why don't you smile nor laugh?" He said while smirking.
"It's my choice.." I sighed.
"Oh, really?" He came closer to me.
What are you planning, Sonic. .?
"Knuckles. . . N O W!!!"
"Wait- what-!"
But Knuckles quickly grabbed my wrists and pinned them above my head. Before I could do anything else! Sonic came closer to me and started tickling my stomach. It happened all of a sudden, I couldn't help it!
My body writhed as I tried to suppress my laughter and emotions but he kept on tickling me!
"Sonic! Stop!" And then I started laughing and squirming.
"Stop! Stop!" I felt my face heat up from this laughter, he was tickling me more.
It felt like a torture-
Then Amy, Sticks and Tails came running towards us. "She is actually laughing! Wow!"
"No! Stop! Stop it-" I arched my back while laughing as Sonic didn't seem to stop at all, but this was humiliating.
Knuckles had still pinned my wrists on the ground, he was so strong!
"Stop! I ca- Stopp!!" I couldn't stop laughing. "Sonic!"
"I won't stop." Sonic smirked and tickled me more. He chuckled as did everyone else.
I laughed, gasped, squeaked and squirmed due to this torturous tickles.
Suddenly, the wind's direction changed. Trees swung sideways. Then suddenly a flower bloomed, and Tails gasped after noticing it.
"Guys, this flower just bloomed!"
"Wha-" Then another flower bloomed and Amy saw it.
Oh no no no-
"Yeah..." said Amy, confused and surprised, scratching her head.
"Sonic! Please stop-" I said in-between laughing. "It's enough - stop!"
Then suddenly- lightning struck in the sky. Loud enough to make everyone startled.
And Knuckles and Sonic let me go, I immediately got up, still breathing heavily. First I quickly brushed my messed up quills. I heard Sonic chuckle before saying :
"What happened to the weather all of a sudden?" He looked up at the sky.
My emotions happened. That's what!
Maybe I should run away. But if I do so, then they will be suspicious! I just have to control my emotions and stay calm.
Yes, stay calm.
"Forget the weather, the flower suddenly bloomed there!" said Tails while pointing at the flower but the flower was now dead.
His eyes widened and so was Amy's. "Wha- How?" asked Tails.
Obviously it would be dead. I felt so humiliated.
But they were confused.
What would I do now? I couldn't let them know about these powers.. Not when I had such a past.
Then Amy spoke up, "Forget the flower, I think it will rain now. Let's go in our tents."
Everyone nodded and I snapped out of my thoughts.
Then Sonic walked beside me and smirked. "You should laugh more often. This cold look doesn't suit your innocent face."
"Innocent face? More like a serial killer.." I muttered and glared at him. "You.. Don't you dare tickle me again."
"Oh, come on." He chuckled, "I just wanted to see you laugh. And it was worth it."
I sighed and rubbed my face, "There is a reason behind everything, Sonic.. Think of the consequences before you act."
That's right. You better understand.
Then I went inside my tent and curled up.
I can't show my emotions.. But I didn't know that when I laugh or when I am happy flowers would bloom? I am just glad my anger didn't turn into fire..
I hope they won't know anything about these powers...
Ugh. Sonic, you brat..
After so many years, I laughed but felt so humiliated.
Ever since Nic and Professor.. were gone..
I am scared to explain again.
I sniffled and curled up more. I hated when I teared up.. There was a sudden change in the atmosphere, so I took a deep breath and controlled myself.
I can't even cry, Professor.. These bracelets that you gave me have helped me a lot to control my powers but- it's too hard to control the emotions.. Especially with friends like Sonic.
Professor.. Nic..
No, I need to stop thinking about that

"Good morning." I said to the already awake Sticks, Knuckles and Tails.
"Good morning, Amy." They replied, stretching.
And then Sonica also came out of her tent.
But I think she didn't get a good sleep. Judging from her.. messy quills which kinda made me chuckle.
"Good morning, Sonica!" I smiled.
She just nodded and walked over to Tails since he was making coffee using his machine.
Maybe it was gonna be a lovely mornin-
Just then the ground started to shake and I heard heavy, metal footsteps.
"It better not be-"
"S U R P R I S E!" Eggman popped out of the treets and his giant robot hit Sonic instantly, making him go flying and slam against the tree trunk.
"Sonic!" I grabbed my hammer and rushed to him.
"Hahahahah, How you like that, blue pest?!" Eggman proudly laughed, pressing and pulling on various buttons and levers of the remote control he had.
Sonic shook his head and stood up, wiping his nose. "Is that all you got?"
Then Eggman hummed, "Um... No. Actually. . . I HAVE MORE!" and lots of bee bots, motobugs and other trashy bots popped out of nowhere!
"Was that necessary to ask, Sonic?!" I glared at him and tightened my grip on my hammer.
Sonic just shrugged as Eggman yelled,
"Robots, A T T A C K!"
Then, the battle began. This time Eggman had also brought a huge robot having 4 claws.
We were battling, using our usual attacks and destroying Eggman's robots. But Sonica was standing there crossing her arms, leaning against a tree.
Can't she help us out a bit?!
I wonder if she would ever help us!
Then suddenly! the robot caught Sonic!!
He tried to escape out but the more he tried, the tighter the robot squeezed him.
"Let him go!" I tried hitting it with my hammer but I was too late. It caught me instantly and threw my hammer very far away.
"NO! MY HAMMER!"
Then that piece of junk caught Sticks and Knuckles too! But HOW?!
"Tails help!"
Tails looked at the robot, strategically, "If I can get to the top panel of the robot than I can de-"
"J U S T H E L P U S ! !"
He nodded and flied towards us but that metal junk had guns on its shoulders and started firing them!
Thank god, Tails wasn't hurt, but-
"TAILS, COME ON!"
Meanwhile Eggman was sipping his tea under the tree. But Sonica was just standing there, still crossing her arms!
"Sonica! Why are you standing like that? Help us!"
"Why do you want my help?" replied Sonica.
What's with this girl?!
"I knew we couldn't trust her!" Sticks added.
I was starting to agree!
"Why? Come on! Just help us already!!!" I shouted, squirming against the robot's grip.
"Relax, Amy-"
"How am I supposed to relax if this robot is squeezing us, Sonic?! Sonica, are you afraid?!"
Then Sonica sighed and curled up into a ball. Her speed also helped to form electric sparks around her and she hit the robot right at its center, destroying the robot's functioning. Finally!
"UGH! NOT AGAIN!" yelled Eggman, throwing the cup down which Orbot cleaned right after.
"I will get you next time, Sonic the hedgehog! And even this another blue rat!" Eggman gritted his teeth and flew away in his egg mobile. "Next time!"
"Thank you, Sonica." Sonic sighed and ruffled his quills.
"I-x
"Eggman nearly got us this time."
"Yeah!"
We chuckled and then turned to Sonica but.. I was getting annoyed. "Sonica"
"Hm?" She looked at me.
"What is wrong with you?" I said directly, walking closer.
"Amy, stop. What are you saying?" whispered Sonic, grabbing my arm.
"I want to know what's your deal. Why are you like this? What is wrong with you, Sonica?" I looked at her seriously while yanking my arm away from Sonic's grip.
She clenched her fists and replied, "it's nothing."
"Oh, really? It's nothing? Then why don't you laugh or smile? Why are you so arrogant? You didn't even help us till I got on your nerves! Seriously, what is the problem with you?!"
Then Sonica turned away but didn't say anything.
"What happened?! Answer me!"

"What happened?! Answer me!" Amy kept on raising her voice.
Now I was getting seriously pissed off..
"Why do you want to know? You will never understand what I am going through. On top of that you are acting as though I destroyed your entire life. And I am like this, not by choice! And if you have a problem with me, then STAY. AWAY." I said with narrowed eyes and clenched fists.
Everyone.. froze.
"You sure have the attitude.."
I what?!
Flames of fire formed on my hands but I quickly hid them behind my back and sighed, "I am going home..."
"Sonica, wait-"
No. Don't stop me, Sonic. Not now.
While returning home, I couldn't avoid the boiling anger inside me. My both hands had flames of fire.
What does she want from me? Why doesn't anyone leave me alone? And I have an attitude?! Sure, I have an attitude thanks to which you all are still not dead!
I stopped outside my door but didn't want to go in.. I felt overwhelmed, and thought of getting some fresh air, alone. Behind my house os a forest, and I went in without a second thought.
As I expected, the forest was peaceful. The other animals of the forest were scared of me as I expected.
Then I took a deep breath and stayed calm. I rubbed my hands slowly as my hands started to glow. I didn't know what to do now, so I placed them on the ground. Surprisingly, a tree grew/emerged out. But... but it was alive! Not in a normal way-
Its branches could move and stretch too. It had big leaves. I just kept staring in shock until it.. lowered one of its branches and gave me a fruit..?
"Thank.. you..?"
One of the branches nodded once. Then the other animals started to come closer to me.
"Uh.. hello, little ones.."
Then suddenly, the tree lifted me up and placed me on top of its huge leaf that acted as a literal rug. And the view from up there was amazing!!
I felt free and fresh!
"Hey.." I lightly patter a leaf and said, "I, um.. want to name you 'Key'. I know it's a strange name but.. like a normal key opens doors, you have opened up several feelings and hopes in me. You like the name? Uh, I can think of better ones too-"
One of the branches nodded again and I chuckled with relief. Then flowers started to bloom around me in a circle and my eyes widened.
That's when I realized. . . my powers were very much powerful but yet beautiful than I expected. I realized that I don't have to bottle up all my emotions like a.. lifeless being. I just have to control them so that no one finds out about my powers.
Wait it's not... making much sense.
But.. whenever I am happy or sad or angry, these powers show up themselves. So, it's better to express my emotions alone or with the nature and Key. Then I played with Key's leaves and branches for a while.
Nature is beautiful.
The other animals in the forest also came closer to me, and that made me happy. At least I don't have to hide my powers with the nature, plants and Key.
