"Sonic, why did you fall on top of me?" Sonica glared and crossed her arms. "Don't tell me you have feelings for me."
"Sonica, I.." I gulped, running out of words.
Then she put her hands on her hips and shook me by my shoulders. "I would never like someone who sleeps till so late and snores like a pig! Wake up, Sonic! Wake up!"
Huh?!
My eyes snapped open and I just stared at the roof while someone kept shaking my shoulder.
..it was.. a dream?
"Sonic!! You need to help me!!" Amy shouted, shaking my shoulders more.
Wait, Amy? What was she doing here? And when did sh-
"S O N I C !!"
"Okay, okay! I will help you just give me a sec." I got off the hammock and stretched a little, then quickly brushed my teeth, washed my face and dried my face with a towel and stood infront of Amy.
"So, how can I help?"
"Sonic, I had told you that something was missing!! And I know now, what is missing!!" Amy panicked.
"What is missing?" I asked while scratching my head.
"My hammer! My hammer, Sonic! It's gone! During our camp, Eggman's bot had thrown my hammer! I just remembered it now!!!" replied Amy.
My eyes widened. "And you remember it now?!"
She nodded, "Please, let's go find it!"
I nodded and tapped on my communicator. "Guys, we have a situation. Come here for a sec-"
"Yes?"
"Gah!"
"Sonica! Don't scare us like that!"
"My bad..." Sonica scratched her head. I suddenly remembered the dream but quickly brushed it off.
"Okay, come a soon as possible." I said in the communicator.
"Got in!" "Be there after breakfast-"
I sighed at their reply and looked at worried Amy.
Then Sonica spoke. "So.. What's the situation?"

Tails, Knuckles and Sticks arrived at my shack. I really need to get a door...
"Hi, Sonic, Amy and Sonica." Tails waved his hand.
"Hey." I and Amy said in unison.
"So, what's the situation?" Sticks scratched her head.
I sighed and we started explaining everything.
—[After 3 minutes of explanation]—
"Oooohh! Now I get it." Knuckles nodded his head.
I nodded as well, "Now, let's go and search for the missing hammer!"
Everyone else nodded. Then we headed to the place where we had camped before.
I did steal glances from Sonica during the walk.
And soon...
Amy said, "We are here! This is the place where Eggman's bot threw my hammer!"
I nodded, "Okay, everyone, start searching!"
Sticks immediately pounced on a busn.
Amy, still a little anxious, searched under the trees. Tails and Knuckles checked in the bushes too.
But.. Sonica was.. staring at a tree? Ahem.
"I can't find it!!!" Amy threw her hands in frustration.
"Neither can we." said Knuckles and Tails in unison with leaves on their heads.
And just then Sticks' head popped out of the bush with insects, "No hammer up there."

I was going to look for the hammer too but the trees reminded me of Key.
Unsurprisingly... no one was able to find the hammer.
"Where could it be?" Amy sounded worried and Sonic patted her shoulder for comfort. "We will find it, Amy. Don't worry."
"I don't even think it's lost! Maybe you kept it somewhere and forgot it." Sticks pointed at Amy.
"No, I am telling you! The robot had thrown my hammer away!!!" Amy said in such a tone that said she was ready for a fight.
"Yes, I noticed too.." I sighed.
"See! I told you!" Amy barked back at Sticks.
And just then my ears twitched as I heard something or someone move behind the trees.
"Sshh!!"
Everyone paused. There was silence among us until Knuckles whispered, "What is it?"
"Ssh-"
I heard that same sound again- the rustling and creaking of leaves and bushes. And I was sure that no wild animal would wander near this destroyed part of the forest [ destroyed in yesterday's battle ] while we were present.
Then I caught something from my peripheral vision.
"..I don't hear anything.." whispered Sonic to Tails.
"Sshh!"
He bit his bottom lip.
Dammit, focus here, Sonica.
Then, I closed my eyes and quickly turned around to the direction of the sound.
"Someone was watching us. Follow me." I whispered while narrowing my eyes as I caught The glimpse of a shadowy figure run away!
"Come on!"
I started chasing after them.
"But why are we chasing them?!"
"Maybe Sonica wants to ask them about Amy's hammer?"
Ugh, Knuckles..
Hoping the others were following me, I increased my speed and now I was finally close enough to see that the shadowy figure was actually a tribe member! Wearing a wooden mask, and leaves on his head!
"Got you!" I reached my hand out to grab him by his arm but suddenly- he climbed on a tree!
I growled and climbed after him, following him closely. "Who are you?!"
But he swung from one branch to another.
"Come on.." I groaned, and looked here and there in hope that no one was around.
Thankfully, no one was around.
Did they others lose their way? It's a pretty dense forest after all. But nevermind-
Now that I am alone, I can use my powers.
Then, I also swung from one branch to another, following him. He hadn't gone too far. Then he jumped off the tree and started running on the ground again.
Game on.
I followed after him and immediately held my hands out to use my powers, bending the trees to block his path.
"Now, I got you.." I slowly walked over, my hands still glowing green.
He tried to run again but there was no way. I had the trees block his escape from all directions.
"Who are you? And were you spying on us?" I used my powers again and wrapped him with a strong vine. I held some part of vine so that he couldn't run anywhere.
But I didn't like how it was starting to look like a leash.
"..alright, don't speak.. Just answer me this.." I tightened the vine, stepping closer. "Had you seen a hammer by any chance? Somewhat pink?"
He stared at me through his mask for a second before nodding his head.
"Thank god.." I sighed in relief and asked. "Where is i-"
"Sonica! There you are! We lost our way-"
Oh shoot-
I immediately made the bent trees straight as normal, hoping they didn't see it.
Then I turned around to face them, still holding the vine in my hand. "You guys lost your way..?"
Play it cool, Sonica. Play it cool.
"Who's he?" Sonic asked, pointing at the tribe member.
"I think it's-" Knuckles eyes widened and he shut his mouth.
Everyone else's eyes were also wide. I became confused. What did they see?
I turned back around and. . .
Oh.
There were more tribe people holding sharp spears. One of them was pointing the spear right infront of my eyes. Then he cut the vine and freed the other.
"Should we fight them or what?" whispered Sonic.
"No need. Just don't do anything." I whispered back.
—[ A/N: Sonica will be speaking in a monotone voice now. ]—
"But-"
I cut Sonic off, "We can't fight with them right now. We are outnumbered and they have lots of sharp spears. Any of us can get hurt."
"But why should we surr-" Sonic got cut off again, but, by the tribe members as they pointed their spears at him.
"Just don't do anything stupid." I whispered.
"Haiii ya!" Sticks made a karate pose and threw her boomerang.
"Sticks, no-!"

"I told you guys not to do anything stupid." I glared at my 'friends', now being upside down.
These tribe people had tied my wrists and ankles to a bamboo while two of them held each end. Same was done for everyone else. So 6 bamboos all together.
I felt like I was gonna be a barbeque. They literally hung us upside down like some kid playing on Monkey-Ladder!
NOW,
We were at their odd village. They led us in a comparatively big shack. Inside was a throne and someone was seated on it. It looked like he was the tribe leader. His mask looked the most colourful out of all.
And to our surprise, he had Amy's hammer! It was p-
"My hammer!!!" Amy shouted, struggling against the rope. "Give me my hammer back!"
They allowed us to stand back on out feet. But our wrists remained tied.
"Tahw si siht gohegdeh ginyas?"
"W H A T ?!"
Then one of them said, "Ew t'nod dantsrednu reiht egaugnal oot, redael."
I guess these tribe people don't understand our language.. but that one from earlier could understand me. Where was he now?!
There was silence in the room until I cleared my throat and decided to speak, "Ehs si ginyas ot evig reh remmah kcab.."
Yes, I understood them. No, I was not born or raised here. Yes, I learnt it randomly.
Then, the tribe leader narrowed his eyes at us.
"Wait! Sonica! You can understand their language?!"
I nodded.
"But we can't understand anything!!"
"That won't be a problem. I will translate it to you. The one sitting right there is their leader. I just asked him to give your hammer back." I sighed.
—[A/N: Dear readers, you may skip the sentences said by the tribe people. Actually, I just wrote reverse spelling of the words and showed it as their tribe language.]—
"So..what did he say?" asked Amy.
"I am waiting for his reply." I mumbled.
She nodded.
"Siht si ton ruoy remmah! Ti saw a tfig tnes yb ruo DROL!!!! Ti llef morf eht yks. Eht DROL, evag ti ot su!" said the tribe leader.
"What did he say??"
I took a deep breath and looked at them, "He said that this is not your hammer.. It was a gift from their lord. They mean 'God' I think.. And.. it fell from the sky when they were battling. They believe that the Lord gave it to them for their safety."
" . . ."
"It what?!" Everyone burst out laughing. "Who believes that?!"
The leader got angry and stood up from his throne and shouted, "YHW REA YEHT GINHGUAL???"
I tried to shush them, "Ssh! Stop laughing. You are making him angry!"
But they weren't listening to me. I looked at the leader, he was raging in anger.
Oh no..
I quickly bowed down on one knee, "I ezigolopa no eht ebflah fo meht."
I gave my so-called friends a death glare. They gulped and looked around as if nothing happened.
Then the tribe leader sat back down on his throne.
Then I also stood up straight and said, "Ew tsuj tnaw eht remmah kcab. S'ti ton morf nevaeh.."
Tails was about to ask for the translation but I cut him off and said, "We just want the hammer back."
And everyone was like, "Ooooh!"
Ugh..
Then the tribe leader leaned forward and said, "uoy t'nac evorp taht s'ti ton morf nevaeh.. Tub if ouy yllaer tnaw eht remmah, neht ouy lliw evah ot taefed su ni eerht sgniht."
I translated, "If we really want that hammer then we will have to defeat them in three things."
"Yes, we accept the challenge! I mean whatever it is..." Sonic didn't waste a second to respond.
"Ew rea ydaer. Tahw rea eht eerht sgniht?" I asked.
"Ereht si a noitidnoc.." He said.
I looked at Sonic, "There is a condition."
Sonic nodded.
The leader snapped his fingers and then, the other tribe members untied me and Sonic.
"Hey! Untie us too!" Amy looked at the members, frowning.
I looked back at the leader.
"Ylno eht owt fo ouy lliw eb gintepmoc." He said. "Yadot si a taerg yad ot yalp htiw eulb."
I frowned, "Only the two of us will be competing... He says today is a great day.. to play with blue?"
"Play with blue hedgehogs, he means?"
I shrugged.
Then the leader snapped his fingers again and the other tribe members pointed their spears at Knuckles, Amy, Tails and Sticks, leading them outside to a prison or something.
"Sonic! Please get my hammer back! I am trusting you! Sonic!!! Or else!!"
Sonic just nodded and turned back to me. "What now?"
"..tahw rea eht eerht sgniht?" I asked looking at the leader.
"Eht eerht sgniht era. . . "
