"Thump!" Charles heavily fell onto the bed, panting deeply.
"I told you to be gentler, look, it's torn now. Tomorrow I'll take a file to those fangs of yours. This fabric is a new textile from Spider Island and it's hard to find."
Lying in Charles's arms, Anna, with flushed cheeks, looked sadly at her torn stockings in her hands.
"It's no use, I've sawed them off myself, but they just grew back."
"Why can't you just pull them out, you're not a vampire, you don't need them to suck blood," Anna said as she nestled her head deeper into Charles's chest.
Charles lowered his head and kissed Anna's hair. "Speaking of which, Anna, is that mirror that turns me into a bat still around? I might need it for our next adventure, especially since we're heading to the Earth's surface exit."
"No, that thing is dangerous. If you use it too much, you'll turn into a ghastly monster. I know you too well; once you get going, you can't control yourself."
