Hiroshi's gaze rose to his father's face. He looked very calm, but underneath it all, his heart raced as he came to accept the fact that his father should never know what was going on and even if he did know, it was best to maintain this silence.
"Try and care more about who you are," his father reminded him of the responsibility he had to keep the family tied to Haruki's family.
His father did not have any idea that he was using that effort to keep Haruki tied to him in a way that he could not let his father know.
"I understand," he replied solemnly with a slight bow.
His father nodded as though very understanding of his son's situation before giving Hiroshi a gentle pat on his shoulder as he passed by Hiroshi to the door.
So many things weighed on his mind until it showed on his shoulders. Doctor Yamamoto, who was charmingly known for his self-confidence, had his shoulder slumped and folded in as though he had gotten the biggest anyone could get.
