As the people walked into the room, Alex could already tell he was in trouble. He saw different emotions in each of the people that walked in; some angry, some concerned, some worried.
The leader walked in after everyone, a stern look on his face.
"Were you trying to kill the witness?" he asked. "I had almost believed your story too."
"I wasn't trying to kill the witness," Alex said. "I merely wanted to learn more about who it was that wanted to blame me for that sect's massacre."
Alex couldn't figure out how these people had realized Whisker was in that room. As far as he knew, Whisker was far too sneaky to be caught by just anyone, especially someone from Hell.
The leader looked at Alex with a disappointed look as he shook his head.
"Your lies won't work on us, criminal," the other man with a narrow face said. "Attempting to kill the witness. That's going to be another one of your charges."
