Chapter 95 - The knights

In the midst of the voices, the lords saw that the knight, Martin, whispered something to the knight of Alexander, and then looked this way with a sneer. Several of the knights around him were talking ironically about 'country lords' and so on.

"Are the bastards trying to lie to me? ! No one will ever think of that line!"

'That's unreasonable!! 'Lord Garvey was about to explode with anger. He had never seen such inconsiderate knights.

But the more insolent these people were, the more reasonable their actions seemed to the lords.

"Is that the Bishop's order? !" 'said Lord Garvey indignantly, but this time there was a touch of resentment in his anger.

"Of course." This time, the man called Martin vice knight long talked slowly, he le hangers, hovering at the edge of the ground, with his eagle eyes scanned the side side of the lords, stern said: "you are the Lord of the black pearl valley sides, good job is to guard your territory, good care of your people! The southern area of the valley is full of food, not allowed to lose! We are here to appease the refugees and not to allow anyone to leave! As for that demon, we'll kill it in a few days! And your only use, be good reclamation land, support valley bottom line, contribution food! Also natural should do this task well just right!"

His tone was as harsh as if he were lecturing them.

But the faces of all the lords, with the exception of a few dimwitted ones, began to grow queer.

Lord Garvey thought for a moment, then withdrew his eyes from the dead body on the floor and nodded to Martin. "It seems to be all a mistake, Sir Martin. We are only here for the exchange of goods. I will return after this."

In a few brief moments, Baron Garvey had recovered, as though he had forgotten what he had just seen, and had not even heard Martin's harsh words.

At least, there was no sign of emotion in his face.

"You see," he continued, "we are carrying so many people, and so much cargo. It is not proper to stay here till His Grace returns. But there are so many people and so many things, that living and cooking here in the middle of the day will hurt the young ones in the sky -- take us down to Johannes, and after a rest, we'll talk business."

What a shame to these Templar lords!

"Don Garvey." But Martin opened his mouth with a smile on his face. "There are only a hundred or so refugees in our camp," he said. "The conditions are so poor that we can't accommodate you people. I can have things shipped over, and if you want to trade, here you are."

In the eyes of many lords, this is simply a trick? ! Who will believe them when they say they only have a hundred or so refugees? !

But Baron Garvey's face grew calmer, and he nodded his head in agreement with the Lord Templar.

"Fold your troops together. If one of them gets around the line and scares the refugees ploughing, don't blame me for anything that happens!" With that, Martin gave a sneer and pulled his horse back to his place.

The lordship rested in its place, and the lordship gathered round and talked for a long time. Several of the lords, always smiling on their faces, got off their horses and came close to the line, chatting with the knights on the other side. But all except that Sir Alexander were very tight-lipped. Just pay attention to whether these people have crossed the line.

But no one dared to talk to Neng even if they expected what he would get out of the fool... Because whoever approaches, his eyes will be fixed on the line on the ground.

A few riders crept back out of the fog, dismounted, and, frowning, came near the lords.

They all sneaked around Johannes by other routes.

After seeing the ploughmen in the fields, they did not look too far in, but they did see the faint patrolling 'knights' on horseback in the thick fog. And wherever they crept up, they would meet the men on patrol!

This is definitely not a hundred refugees! 100 + knights is not enough!!

One of them almost met the patrol, so that they stopped their horses and galloped back -- fortunately, the knights did not seem to notice them. The patrol continued along the established route.

"... It seems that the City of Wining Winds may not have known that so many of them were here." "I think the City of Whizz should know something about it. They just don't know the exact number of people here." "I don't know what's going on between the Duke and the Curia." "The men we send will not give them the impression that we are spying?" "Rest assured, Lord Carroll, you will not be silenced. These people depend on us for supplies..."

"What shall we do, Garveda? We're not really here to deliver the goods. The people inside the territory are still waiting for rice to be cooked. If we were to take all our things, would we all starve to death? !"

Garvey sighed, not expecting this either.

They don't have to confirm the territory anymore. It's pretty much in front of them.

"Let us not be too gloomy. At least if there is an Order here, we will not have to worry about the demons. As for this transaction, I don't think it will end so badly."

The lords looked at each other.

"They're not going to covet the poor thing we've got." 'said Lord Garvey.

"But he does need supplies, doesn't he?"

"Indeed." Baron Garvey nodded. "But more than anything he needs land, people, order!"

The lords suddenly seemed to understand him. The guy who has a good head is even more wide-eyed and thinks that if he is himself, he will not do things so great.

And there were at least a thousand of them here. Would he really drive them to their doom?

"My lords," Lord Garvey said, raising his voice, "you know what the Kingdom of Rodunk means to the Nine Kingdoms, and how important the Valley of the Black Pearl is to the North. There has been no news of the king. If it has fallen, this will be the last nail in the north that will hold back the claws of the ancient god."

"I don't know what happened between the Curia and Lord Adeline, but you are an important leader behind the Wind City and an important organ in the Valley of the Black Pearl. So it makes a lot of sense for the Holy See to send someone to come here and take charge of this parish."

"Gentlemen." Baron Garvey said: "I just want to say one thing - we are all faithful believers, and those who are stationed here are the guardians of the believers, not bandits... So please take inventory."

These words set the lords in deep thought.

Lord Garvey looked up at the knights and sighed inwardly.

He never really saw the whole order of knights.

So I have been keeping a little doubt in my heart.

But he knew that the dozen men in front of him, if all together, with some intelligence, could indeed defeat the giant.

He would have made his way into the crowd and killed the first person who dissented with them...
