Chapter 8 - Chapter 8. Envy, Moon Dew

Chapter 8. Envy, Moon Dew

Brock spent the whole day immersed in learning about mind acceleration.

Unfortunately, he failed to succeed all day.

While 'Accelerating the Mind' is a basic spell, its quality is the Ordinary Apprentice, a level higher than 'The Shining Moon Dew'.

Only thanks to the advantages of the Guton Academy of Wizards was Brock able to study it for free.

Ms. Cecily noticed Brock's success and approached him.

'Don't despair. Usually, it takes about a month for a wizard's student to master it. Just practice well when you get back to class.'

'Yes,' Brock nodded and said, 'Miss Cecily, can I ask you about other spells?'

Ms. Cecily was a little confused, but she felt a little relieved, and then said,

'Of course you can. I'm a teacher of practical spells, and it's my responsibility to teach spells.'

After hearing this, Brock asked Ms. Cecily about the problems he faced last night while studying 'The Shining Moon Dew'.

After hearing that this was about Moon Dew, Ms. Cecily suggested that Brock probably faced financial difficulties and wanted to improve his life by creating magical potions. She slowly replied:

Shining Moon Dew is a very simple spell, but no spell can be mastered overnight.

The problem you've faced...

The remaining time was spent in a question-and-answer format between Brock and Ms. Cecily.

As an official wizard, Miss Cecily had a deep knowledge of spells, further deepening Brock's understanding of 'The Shining Moon Dew'.

Seeing that the lesson was almost over, Ms. Cecily told other young wizards:

'Now you can go back to your classrooms.'

When the young wizards heard this, they shouted joyfully.

After Friday, the weekend came.

That's what they cared about.

Brock had already resolved many of his doubts and was preparing to return to the dorm to try again after class.

Suddenly, Miss Cecily called out to Brock.

Brok, the wizard's life is long. Time speed cannot determine future achievements.'

I get it, thank you, Miss Cecily.

Ms. Cecily's words sounded like a warning urging Brock not to be complacent because he has already reached the level of the Apprentice.

But Brock realized that the real point of Ms. Cecily's words was to encourage him to keep his own pace and not despair about the speed of growth of noble wizards.

After all, the more resources the noble wizards have, the greater the gap between them and ordinary wizards like Brock.

Miss Cecily saw too many examples like this, so she cheered him up.

Watching Brock's figure recede, Ms. Cecily sighed slightly, and her aged face reflected memories and emotions:

Difficulty is food for the soul. Poor kid, grow up strong.'

Back in class, Brock was in the spotlight. The ordinary students and even those of the nobles who had not yet reached the level of the student all looked at him.

Shock, envy, mistrust, all kinds of emotions are intertwined.

Brock ignored it and returned to his seat.

Chester's almost petrified with horror, 'Brock, did you really break into the Apprentices?'

'Good luck, I only broke through a few days ago,' Brock smiled calmly.

However, Chester's heart was in turmoil.

He was afraid his brother was suffering, but he had already broken through.

But, recalling Brock's near-mad effort, Chester was relieved.

It's true if you couldn't become a Apprentice, it would be very unfair.

The news that Brock had succeeded in becoming a student of the wizard was like a stone thrown into a lake: a wave swept through the water, which quickly dissipated.

Some forgot about it in an instant.

Some secretly took Brock as a model.

Some just treated it like gossip.

Brock wasn't interested in these discussions.

Like Miss Cecily said, the wizard's journey is long and difficult. Brock had only to keep his rhythm and keep moving forward; other people's words were just the noise of the wind on his way.

Classes ended on Friday.

Chester, like other young wizards, went his own way.

Brock went to the dining room alone and then returned to his dorm.

Brock planned to master the Shining Moon Dew technique as quickly as possible over two weekends.

After Miss Cecily's instructions, Brock felt incredibly strong.

Cotton.

'Failure again.'

Brock, dressed only in shorts, got soaked as if in the rain, his lips pale with cold.

It proved that knowing anything intellectually and knowing it in practice are two different things.

The construction of the Shining Moon Dew spell scheme, even without using more complex spells, but only by highlighting the runes of magic and mental strength, was extremely intricate.

Brock deeply realized why mind acceleration was so important to wizards.

Without a powerful mind, it was really difficult to process such vast and complex information.

Back on the balcony, he wiped himself with a towel, then buried himself in bed, and wrapped in a blanket, meditated to regain his magical power.

When his magical power was almost restored, Brock walked to the table and took out the Legacy Book of the Shining Moon Dew.

He opened it on the inheritance scheme page.

The original engraved spell scheme has already dimmed a little.

There's only four chances left, Brock sighed.

The inheritance diagram could be used no more than five times.

And after the first use, the inheritance chart retained the magic power of the user and could not be used by the second person.

Brock suppressed his emotions, allowing himself to return to rationality, and reached out to superimpose it on the Shining Moon Dew inheritance chart.

Over the next two days off.

In addition to practicing the Dawn Breath Technique, Oak Meditation, and caring for the Blood Fungus and Blue Star Grass, Brock devoted all his energy to the spell of the Shining Moon Dew.

Practice, practice, and more damn practice.

It's final.

It's Sunday night.

On this increasingly cold autumn night, Brock was shaking with the cold, water dripping from his hair. His expression was solemn as his mental power guided the flow of magical power, drawing complex runes, forming the beginnings of a magical chain.

The three main spell runes, symbolizing the moon, water element, and nature, occupied each corner, forming a triangle. Outside the triangle were three concentric circles; from inside out, each layer of the circle contained nine, eighteen, and twenty-seven auxiliary runes, respectively.

As Brock poured magical power into him, the closed chain of the spell slowly rotated like a machine.

Thick fog appeared in the bathroom, and the magical scheme in Brock's hand shone with bright light like a full moon.

The moonlight and thick fog slowly merged, and at some point they reached some equilibrium.

The fog suddenly shrank, clotting in Brock's palm.

'It's a success.'

Brock's face expressed joy.

A head-sized 'full moon' floated in his palm.

It emitted faint moonlight as if it were really the moon in the sky.

Brock carried this moon out of the bathroom and onto the balcony, mentally steering it to sail to the shelves where Blue Star Grass and Bloody Mushroom were planted.

The 'full moon' hung over the shelves, emitting faint light. Soon, the shelves were shrouded in thick fog.

Moonlight and thick fog turned into dew, feeding the growth of Blue Star Grass and Blood Fungus.

Brock discovered the code of magical potions. At that moment, a line of text for Blue Star Grass and Blood Fungus appeared in the state string.

←Moon dew: increased germination, increased resistance to disease, increased growth rate. ↑

'Finally,' Brock's lips curved in a smile, his mood was very pleasant.

After four days of effort, he finally mastered his first truly meaningful spell!
