This was a new day in Haru's New Life as a Gamer. And it was his true beginning in the world of the Dragon God.
It all started with a cliché. However, this cliché holds many mysteries and a long, unknown story.
At this moment, Haru is eating his breakfast. He's a bit irritated for the first time in many years of his peaceful life, always doing what he wanted with his life, with no one to force him to do anything.
Haru was thinking about the documents he found in the living room of the house this morning, right after waking up. This led Haru to think a bit about his future in this world.
'The Japanese school year starts at the beginning of April, and the school year is divided into three periods. Students enjoy three annual vacations: summer vacation at the end of July and August, winter vacation at the end of December and the beginning of January, and spring vacation at the end of March and the beginning of April. Classes are held only five to six days a week from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 3:30 PM, and on Saturdays until 12:00 PM when there are classes on Saturday.'
Haru sighed, thinking about his bright future in a month in the world of the Dragon God.
'Apparently, I'll turn seventeen this month, so I'll be in the second year since, in Japan, students don't repeat a year like in Brazil.'
Since Haru would turn seventeen this month, he would study directly in the second year because, in Japan, students don't repeat a year even if they have really low grades. In fact, even if a student scored zero in everything, they wouldn't repeat a year and would still pass. Although it would be humiliating, as the grades would be revealed to all the students in the school, and the student would also face great difficulty getting into a university with low high school grades.
But Haru's real concern wasn't actually studying in high school again. It was the class he would be placed in at school.
'Which class will I study in? I just hope I'm not in the same class as that failed protagonist, Issei, but knowing that damned God who threw me here, it's very likely I'll be in the same class as him.'
Haru simply didn't want to study in the same class as Issei Hyoudou at Kuoh Academy.
Haru sighed and looked at the papers on the table.
'And what the hell is this ghost family that God gave me?'
This morning, while exploring and getting to know his new house, Haru had found many documents on the living room table. They were enrollment documents for Kuoh Academy and about his parents in this world… along with an explanation of how the Japanese school system works.
But Haru simply considered all the family documents useless.
'My parents in this world don't exist, and the documents claim I have parents. It says my father is Brazilian, and my mother is Japanese, making me a Japanese descendant who is more easily accepted in Japan.'
Even though the documents were somehow official, there was a serious problem.
'But the problem is they don't exist. Their names are unknown, the names of relatives are unknown… even my own past in this world is unknown, with the only fact being that I lived in Brazil before moving to Japan to study and have a better life. Because unemployment isn't for the weak in Brazil.'
Haru honestly had no idea what that damned God was thinking when he made that bunch of fake documents and invented a fake life for him in the new world. And somehow, it's considered official by the documents.
At least Haru was grateful for having money. In the item shop, Haru could buy the highest denomination of money for just 1 System Point, which was ten thousand yen.
'At least I won't have financial problems as long as I have System Points.'
Haru had exchanged some points for money in the system's item shop. With this new money, he went to a convenience store to buy a lot of instant noodles for his breakfast, lunch, and dinner later.
'That damned God was decent enough to give me a house with furniture, kitchen utensils, and appliances.'
Haru was at least grateful for having a furnished house and being able to exchange points for real money in the system's item shop. He knew he would have to find a job if he didn't have money to eat and pay the bills now that he was in this world with almost nothing.
*Ding-dong!*
As Haru was putting his instant noodles in, his doorbell was rung by someone outside the house.
"Who's that at this hour?"
Haru set the noodles aside, along with the bottle of sake he was drinking, and went to answer the door, wondering who it could be.
Opening the door, Haru came face to face with someone he didn't want to see even if they were painted in gold in his miserable life.
But Haru already knew this would happen, sooner or later. Many neighbors had already come to welcome him with gifts. Haru just didn't expect *him* to come in place of his parents.
'Had to be him?'
Haru thought, holding back his growing irritation at the pathetic virgin in front of him.
"Hello! Good morning… uh, eto…"
Haru pretended to be ignorant to avoid seeming suspicious, since he already knew who was in front of him.
"Oh! Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm the neighbor from across the street, Hyoudou Issei."
Issei forced a smile on his face, seeing the handsome white-haired boy who answered the door. To make matters worse, the boy was only in pants, shirtless, showing off his abs to the world.
'Such bad manners.'
Haru thought, noticing that Issei didn't bow when introducing himself, unlike everyone else who had come to introduce themselves as his neighbors.
"My name is Kurokami Haru. What do you want?"
Haru also didn't bow; he had no intention of showing respect to Issei in the first place.
"Nice to meet you, Kurokami-san. My parents sent this cake as a welcome gift."
Haru took the cake box Issei handed him, not paying much attention to it.
As Haru moved, Issei suddenly saw a pink background behind Haru. And worse… Issei also saw thousands of women calling Haru "My God," and even worse, they were all busty, like the perfect breasts in Issei's imagination.
'Handsome bastard!'
Issei screamed internally at the scene of his dreams that he imagined behind Haru.
"Thanks. Thank your mom for me."
"Sure, Kurokami-san!"
'Why only my mom?'
Issei thought, not understanding what Haru meant.
"Goodbye, Kurokami-san!"
"Goodbye…"
As they said goodbye, Haru closed the door while Issei went back to jerk off after imagining so many beautiful, naked women with their breasts out behind Haru. Although the women were just in Issei's imagination, in reality, there wasn't a single woman behind Haru.
Closing the door with the cake in hand, Haru's eyes radiated intense murderous intent toward Issei.
Although the murderous intent didn't have incredible effects to be considered a skill, it was just a look of pure disgust.
'I wish this goodbye was final, but we'll be studying at the damn same school soon.'
Haru's eyes were cold and devoid of any feelings as he threw the cake box into the trash can by the door.
"I'd better wash my hands with soap, disinfectant, and alcohol. I don't even want to think about what the hell he was doing before coming to deliver that cake."
Passing through the main living room and dining room, Haru went straight to the kitchen sink to wash his hands.
"Good thing I already bought the essentials this morning."
Haru had already bought everything necessary: food, drinks, and cleaning products to wash dishes and clean the house when it got too dirty or messy.
***************
After finishing breakfast, Haru left his house to explore the city of Kuoh, which he had only seen in the anime. He also wanted to know about good places in Kuoh for a drink or some nice party venues.
Haru was wearing jeans, a long-sleeved white shirt, and a pair of black sneakers that the damned God had provided in the wardrobe of the room where he woke up yesterday.
"Kuoh, huh? Why is the city's name the same as the school's? It's like Brazil with those weird city and neighborhood names. Hmm, thinking about it, everywhere has businesses with weird names."
Haru was a bit curious about why the city had the same name as the school in the center, Kuoh Academy.
Although it wasn't a bother for Haru, as he was used to the names of cities, schools, and establishments in Brazil, which were even stranger than the city of Kuoh sharing the same name as the school in its center.
As Haru started walking through busier streets in Kuoh, he began to notice that he was receiving a lot of looks from women and glares of hatred and disgust from men, especially those accompanied by women.
'That's weird. My appearance isn't that unusual for this world. There are plenty of people with better looks than me. But… even so, all the women in the city seem to be in love with me. Hmm? My Charisma in my Status is a bit higher than my other attributes. But I don't think it should have such a strong effect; it's not Charm, after all.'
While walking through the city, Haru analyzed the strange behavior of the women toward him.
But after a while of receiving the same behavior and looks from everyone, Haru got tired and started ignoring the stares.
'It doesn't matter. At least I won't lack pussy in this world, unlike strong drinks.'
Haru stopped in the center of a park, looking at a water fountain in the middle. This was the place where Issei would die, only to be reincarnated as a demon by Rias Gremory after his death.
After looking around the park for a bit, Haru continued on his way down one of the four streets leading out of the park.
It didn't take long for Haru to arrive in front of Kuoh Academy.
Haru stopped at the gate of Kuoh Academy, observing how much larger it was than shown in the anime he had watched.
"So this is Kuoh Academy. In a month, I'll be here."
Haru looked at the school where he would study in a month alongside Issei, the failed protagonist of the DxD anime.
'But this school is really big. Much bigger than it looked in the anime. The perspective of an anime and reality are very different.'
While Haru looked at Kuoh Academy from behind the gate and wall, he saw that it was much larger than it appeared in the anime, realizing the huge difference between seeing something in an anime and seeing it in reality, outside of an anime that has nothing real about it.
Although the appearance of almost all the women he saw could be considered the best in reality, not something common or unattractive. Even those with more ordinary appearances in this world were much better than the appearance of someone from the real world.
"Hmm… those two are?"
In the courtyard of Kuoh Academy, Haru could see two girls wearing the Kuoh Academy uniform.
'Why are they wearing the school uniform if there are no classes?'
Haru wondered why they were wearing school uniforms during the holidays when there were no classes.
Noticing Haru's gaze on them, the two girls looked at Haru, who was standing in front of the Kuoh Academy gate, staring at them.
"Kaichou, he…"
"I see, Tsubaki. Let's go."
"Understood, Kaichou!"
The two girls were, in fact, Sona Sitri and Tsubaki Shinra.
Sona was a young woman with glasses and a slender body, her black hair short and her eyes violet.
Tsubaki was a young woman with glasses, long straight black hair down to her knees, with split bangs and heterochromatic eyes—her left eye violet and her right eye light brown. Her glasses had blue, semi-rimmed square lenses.
The girls were wearing the female Kuoh Academy uniform.
The female Kuoh Academy uniform consisted of a black blazer below the chest with four triangular points, two in the back and two in the front. A white long-sleeved blouse with a folded collar under the blazer, with the sleeve cuffs folded and buttoned at the wrists. There was also a long black bow tie. The uniform skirt was short, red on the outside and white on the inside, with a pointed embroidered hem. The uniform also included a short black cape over the shoulders.
Haru looked curiously at Sona and Tsubaki, who had stopped in front of him.
Sona took a step forward and asked politely. But even though she spoke with great politeness, her cold voice seemed to carry some power behind her words.
"Excuse me. But who might you be? What's your business at Kuoh Academy?"
Haru looked at Sona, gazing into her violet eyes with slight curiosity in his emotionless red eyes.
And then, the red and violet eyes locked in silence.
Haru blinked and looked away from Sona's eyes.
'They're not acting like the women I passed by in the city.'
Haru was curious about Sona and Tsubaki's attitude, which was different from the enamored looks he had received from women while walking through the city.
After a few seconds, Haru broke the silence that had settled between them and spoke to Sona.
"Kurokami Haru. I'm new in town, and I'll be studying here at Kuoh Academy next semester. While I was walking around to get to know the city better, I decided to memorize the route to Kuoh Academy for when the next semester starts."
Haru gave a basic and quick explanation.
'New student, huh? Now I remember, there is indeed a foreign student who will start studying this semester. So it's him. He's a Japanese descendant who was easily accepted permanently in Japan. He's the son of an unknown Brazilian and Japanese woman; even his relatives are unknown. He's an orphan. But his grades are good, the best compared to other students at Kuoh Academy.'
Sona quickly analyzed the information about Haru when he mentioned he would study at Kuoh Academy next semester.
"I understand. My name is Souna Shitori, I'm the student council president, and this is Tsubaki Shinra, the vice-president. Nice to meet you, Kurokami-kun."
Sona gave a slight bow along with Tsubaki as she introduced herself and Tsubaki to the new student.
"The pleasure is mine, Shitori-senpai, Shinra-senpai."
Haru followed the country's customs and gave a slight bow after Sona and Tsubaki.
"Would you like to see inside Kuoh Academy, Kurokami-kun?"
"Thank you very much, Shitori-senpai, but I must decline. There are many things to arrange at my new house. So, if you'll excuse me… I'm leaving."
With a final bow, Haru turned and left, heading across the bridge into the park in front of Kuoh Academy.
"See you, Kurokami-kun."
Sona gave a farewell bow to Haru, who continued walking away with a simple wave.
Sona and Tsubaki watched Haru enter the park after crossing the bridge.
"His eyes look like a vampire's, Kaichou."
"Yes, Tsubaki. But he has no Aura. His Aura is almost nonexistent, even weaker than a normal human's. Kurokami-kun is just… human, a normal human."
"But Kaichou, even normal humans have a bit of magical power."
"I know, Tsubaki."
"Then…"
"But there must be an exception to everything, right? You yourself being born with a Sacred Gear should have been impossible, but you were born with one."
"Hm! I understand, Kaichou. Forgive my mistake in judging Kurokami-kun."
"It's alright, Tsubaki. Let's go, we have a meeting with Rias."
"Yes, Kaichou!"
While Sona and Tsubaki headed to their meeting with Rias, Haru, in the park, was thinking about what he should do from now on.
'Should I start with the usual cliché and begin a physical training routine like all shounen protagonists?'
Haru then shook his head, dismissing his current thoughts about training like shounen anime protagonists to get stronger.
"Better to sleep. I'm not going to become a training addict like Goku or those boring shounen anime protagonists."
Haru immediately, without thinking much, chose not to train to get stronger, as he preferred sleeping over exerting effort for anything in his life, or at least in this new life in the Dragon God's world.
***************
The next day, Haru had just woken up. He got up, stretching his body with the legendary laziness of otakus when getting out of bed.
It was past 2:00 PM. Haru had slept well before 6:00 PM the previous day. After returning to his new house, he fell dead asleep on his bed without eating or taking a shower.
Rubbing his eyes after waking up, Haru noticed a system screen in front of him.

Haru read what the system screen said and, without thinking much, spoke irritably at the system screen that had given him a mission to train.
"Huh…? Screw that! I'm not in the mood to do this stupid training crap. I'm going back to sleep in peace, that's what."
As Haru lay back down to sleep, the screen changed.

Time passed. Haru kept staring at the changes on the system screen with a blank expression.
Then, for the first time in his entire life, Haru showed a genuine expression of terror as he stammered in horror.
"W-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w… WHAAAAAAAAAT…?"
***************
It was night. In the middle of the forest in Kuoh's city park, Haru was lying on the ground, looking at the stars in the sky of his new world in his new life.
"I'm dead."
Haru had just completed his daily training, which he was forced to complete by the system.
"I'm dead."
Haru ignored the system screen in front of him.
"How can I be so exhausted…?"
Haru wondered, feeling his entire new body sore, extremely tired, and sweaty after running ten kilometers and doing physical exercises nonstop with a body weaker than he remembered.
"...Even when I was a kid, I was much stronger than I am now with this new body."
Haru felt weaker than when he was a child, before he died and was sent to this world to have a new life.
"Is this the consequence of having such low strength and agility stats?"
Wondering if it was a consequence of his low strength and agility, Haru opened his status screen.
"Status."
Haru knew what he had to do to avoid feeling so tired and weak with such a simple training session that the system had forced him to do to avoid losing half his penis.

Haru stood up, looking at his status.
He was a bit surprised by the quick effect of increasing a few points.
Haru looked at his right hand and clenched his fist with all his strength.
"Hm! Now that's more like it. I feel almost as strong as I was before I died. I think I'm only two or three points away from being as strong as I was before I died and came to this world."
Haru realized he was almost as strong as he was before dying and coming to the Dragon God's world with his new, fragile body.
'The effect of increasing stats is incredible.'
Haru clenched his fists and cracked his knuckles, feeling his strength that had grown quickly with a few points.
'Willian was right. Systems are totally broken. Although I've never read a manga or watched an anime with a system like he did, just by increasing my stats a bit, I can see how incredible the systems Willian talked about are.'
Haru was surprised by the effect of stats on him. He had become much stronger with just a few extra points.
"Hm?"
Haru looked at the five remaining points he still had to increase his stats.
'I'd better save my Free Points to distribute to the stat I need most in the future. Or maybe I should only use them when it's necessary, like in a life-or-death situation. I don't know what will happen to me in this world in the future, but if it's like the anime said… power attracts power, so that means I'll attract powerful people just by getting stronger, right?'
Haru left the park, thinking about what he should do with his free points and how he could use them now or in the future.
'For now, when I level up, I'll only increase my stats a little and let most of the points accumulate for when the right time comes to use them.'
Haru headed home with a vague idea of how he could use his free stat points in the future.
'For now, I'll go back and sleep. I'm still dead.'
Exhausted, Haru went home to sleep, ending his thoughts about his future in his new world.
