Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Wings Will Burn

Location: Above Earth – Low Orbit

The Watchtower alarm screamed as atmospheric pressure cracked.

Zauriel, glowing with the holy fury of the Presence, raised his flaming sword — a divine artifact that once split a realm in half. Behind him, the heavens still whispered hymns of war.

Elias floated across from him, shirtless, smoking, grinning.

"Alright, Gabriel cosplay," he growled. "Let's see if your wings are just for show."

Zauriel's eyes blazed.

"You have corrupted the balance. You feast on Parallax. You shattered Lantern law. You bend Anti-Life without understanding its cost. Your arrogance—"

Elias held up a hand and slapped the angel mid-sentence.

A sharp, echoing CRACK rolled across the stratosphere.

Zauriel staggered mid-air. Even gods could be caught off guard.

"Talk less," Elias said, smirking. "Bleed more."

The Fight Begins

They collided like twin stars detonating.

Zauriel swung his blade. It sliced through space itself.

Elias caught it bare-handed.

Blood ran down his palm, but he didn't let go.

"Your sword sings," Elias hissed. "Let's see if it screams."

He snapped the blade in half.

Zauriel screamed and slammed his wings into Elias, generating a divine shockwave that peeled the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Elias went flying — until he recovered, reversed gravity around his body, and launched back.

He slammed into Zauriel's chest with both knees, cracking holy armor and sending the angel hurtling into a satellite.

Back on Earth – Justice League Watchtower

Batman watched the sensors blink red.

"Atmospheric breach. They're tearing the sky apart."

Wonder Woman narrowed her eyes. "Zauriel fights for Heaven. Elias fights for ego. If this escalates—"

Cyborg interrupted.

"We've got another breach."

Superman.

He wasn't walking.

He was flying full tilt, eyes burning.

"Enough," he growled.

Mid-Battle – Low Orbit

As Zauriel raised what remained of his blade, Elias rushed him again, cackling with madness.

"Is this all Heaven's got?! I've had worse from Aquaman's shampoo commercials!"

Zauriel shouted a hymn in Celestial Tongue and unleashed a holy smite.

Elias was engulfed in divine light—

Until suddenly:

BOOM.

A red and blue blur smashed through both of them.

Superman.

His fists slammed into Elias's jaw first, sending him crashing into the upper atmosphere like a meteor.

Then he pivoted mid-air and punched Zauriel in the chest, cracking the angel's breastplate.

The sky cracked again.

Superman hovered above them, cape blazing.

"I don't care who started this," he thundered. "But if either of you destroys one more molecule of Earth's sky, I swear—"

Elias appeared behind him, blood on his lips, Omega lightning coiling off his shoulders.

"Oh look. The boy scout wants to play referee."

Superman turned fast—but not fast enough.

SLAP.

A full-powered Elias slap — laced with Omega force — knocked Superman into a spinning dive.

Zauriel tried to flank.

But Elias caught his wing mid-flight and ripped out a feather the size of a building.

He twirled it like a blade.

"I've got an angel in one hand and an alien in the other," Elias laughed. "Is it Sunday already?"

The Three-Way Brawl Begins

• Zauriel summons divine chains. Elias eats one and chokes him with another.

• Superman recovers and lands a punch so hard, Elias's spine audibly cracks — Elias smiles through it.

• Elias responds by tearing Zauriel's halo in half and impaling Superman with the broken shard.

Blood. Lightning. Radiance.

The three spiral across orbit, their battle etching scars into the moon's surface.

Moments Later – Inside the Moon Crater

Elias knelt over the crater he created with his body.

Breathing heavy.

Smiling still.

Zauriel lay crushed under a collapsed ridge of lunar stone. His wings broken. Divine light flickering.

Superman stood bleeding, chest heaving, cape torn.

And Elias?

He rose.

"I needed that."

He cracked his neck.

"You two made me sweat. You should feel proud."

Zauriel coughed blood. "You... desecrate... everything."

Elias turned to Superman.

"Kal. You always wanted me to be human, right?"

He grinned wide.

"This is as human as it gets."

Justice League Watchtower – Moments Later

The rest of the League watched the destruction in stunned silence.

The satellite feed flickered as Elias dragged Zauriel's body behind him, tossed it at the moon base, and kicked a chunk of rock toward the camera — just to be petty.

"Send another god," he said through the comms.

Then he looked straight into the lens.

"And tell him to bring better dialogue."

The feed cut.
