Chapter 13 - Namor's Death

Overwhelmed by anger, Namor desperately attacked Arthur, who temporarily went on the defensive. Arthur soon discovered one of Namor's weaknesses: he was easily provoked and was obviously somewhat mentally unstable. While fending off Namor's frenzied assault, Arthur subtly projected his mental power to disturb Namor's thoughts.

It worked. Namor's eyes grew redder, his expression became more ferocious, and his attacks intensified. Arthur was elated, finally understanding how to deal with him. Arthur decided to only defend, conserving his physical and mental strength, while continuously attacking Namor's mind. His plan was to exhaust Namor's physical strength before counterattacking.

The soldiers on the battlefield watched intently. They observed their King seemingly suppressing the human's attack, with the human unable to fight back. This sight invigorated the soldiers, who raised their weapons and chanted, "Long live the king... Long live the king... Long live the king..."

Sartu also noticed the battle between his king and the human. However, he felt no joy, instead, a slight frown creased his brow. He observed that although the human appeared to be on the defensive, he looked more like he was conserving his strength. Namor's attacks, though fierce, inflicted no real harm on the human. Sartu had an a bad feeling about this battle.

Namor, with bloodshot eyes, continued his relentless assault on Arthur, who just passively defended himself. As time passed, Namor's attack speed gradually slowed, he began to pant heavily, and his entire body trembled lightly. Arthur knew that Namor's physical strength was nearly depleted, and as the saying goes, "one declines and three exhausts." Coming to a swift decision, Arthur began to fight back against Namor.

Arthur started to counterattack, engaging Namor with wide, sweeping thrusts of his trident. Namor's physical strength had dropped significantly, and he repeatedly tried to retreat from Arthur's blows, eventually being forced to his knees. Namor was in a terrible state; his body constantly shook, he panted heavily, his mind was in disarray, and his eyes were bloodshot. He kept repeating, "I'm going to kill you! I'm going to kill you!"

"Ahhhh...!" Namor suddenly leaped high into the air, raising his trident above his head and striking down at Arthur with all his might.

Arthur seized the moment, blocked Namor's attack with his trident, and then delivered a powerful kick to Namor's chest, sending him flying vertically upwards. The moment Namor was airborne, Arthur spread his arms and used his water control ability to expel all the surrounding seawater, creating a zone devoid of water.

Caught off guard in the air, Namor fell heavily to the ground. Arthur took advantage, plunging his trident into Namor's abdomen.

"Ah..." Namor let out a tragic guttural cry. Arthur grabbed Namor's head with his right hand and slammed it hard into the ground. With a dull thud, Arthur created a deep hole in the ground with Namor's head.

Arthur pulled the trident from Namor's abdomen, and blood immediately started flowing out. Arthur then kicked Namor, sending him flying through the air before hitting the water wall. Following that, Arthur picked up the trident and shot a blast of blue energy at Namor's chest.

Namor laid motionless on the ground after the hit, severely weakened. Arthur then thrust his trident into the ground and clapped his hands together vigorously. The surrounding seawater in this waterless space instantly pressed down on Namor on the ground, crushing him under the pressure. "Ah..." Namor let out another miserable cry.

The surrounding Atlantean soldiers heard their king's cry and tried to rush to his rescue. However, a huge black figure, the colossal octopus that had already killed Namor's whale shark, stood in their way.

Arthur walked step by step towards the dying Namor on the ground. With each step he took, the hearts of the surrounding Atlanteans pounded: thud, thump... thump... thump... This continued until Arthur stood before Namor.

Looking at the motionless Namor, whose abdomen was blood-red, Arthur extended his right hand and lifted Namor into the air. Blood gushed from Namor's abdomen, flowing like water towards Arthur's right hand, where it formed a ball of blood above his palm.

"Ah...ah..." Namor could only manage a low roar. Faced with such a cruel scene, the Atlantean soldiers closed their eyes, unable to watch any longer. As it appeared Namor was about to be completely drained of blood and killed by Arthur, Sartu ran towards Arthur. "Stop! You can't kill him!"

"Oh, why can't I kill him?" Arthur paused, playfully toying with the blood-filled water ball in his hand.

"Because he is your cousin!" Sartu had no choice but to reveal Arthur's true parentage. The surrounding soldiers also overheard who Arthur's parents were and were astonished by this turn of events concerning the Atlantean royal family.

"You mean my father is his mother's younger brother,..... and he executed my parents?" Arthur asked, pointing at Namor on the ground.

"Yes, so I beg you not to kill him!" Sartu pleaded, a hint of embarrassment in his voice.

"HAHAHAH!!!!, you guys killed my parents and then tried to kill me. Now you want me to spare his life? You're dreaming!" Arthur sneered, picking up the trident and slashing it across Namor's neck.

Namor's head fell from his body and rolled to the side.

A sudden silence fell over the area, and the Atlantean soldiers were stunned. Their king was dead! The King of Atlantis had fallen...

Everyone struggled to accept this reality. After a moment of stupefaction, someone finally realized what had happened and shouted, "The king is dead! Kill him! Avenge the king!" The others also came to their senses, staring at Arthur with hatred. "Kill him! Avenge the king!"

Arthur snorted, thinking, "You beg for death so excitedly then join your king!" He prepared to command the giant beasts to slaughter these Atlantean soldiers.

"Everyone STOP!" Sartu yelled loudly, halting the soldiers who were about to charge forward. He then addressed Arthur, "You have already killed our King, Namor, and took revenge for throwing you into the bottomless abyss. You also have the blood of Atlantis flowing in your veins. I don't want anymore blood tobe spilled today".

Although Sartu also wished to avenge Namor, their king was dead, and the army had suffered heavy losses. Besides, they were currently powerless against Arthur, so they could only temporarily yield; revenge would be considered later.

Arthur considered this. While they had tried to kill him, he had also obtained the Trident of the Sea God through a twist of fate. Killing Namor was enough, and it wasn't appropriate to continue the slaughter; he wasn't a murderer. Namor was also the first person he had personally killed, and the other Atlanteans posed no threat to him. As for the hatred for his parents' death, he didn't feel much; firstly, he had traveled through time, and secondly, his biological parents died when he was born, and the man who single-handedly raised him was his true father.

"Okay, I'll let you go today. If you want revenge, you can come to New York to find me!" Arthur declared.

Arthur turned and led his group of giant beasts back towards the bottomless abyss. The war between the Kingdom of Atlantis and Arthur ended in Atlantis' failure. Atlantis not only suffered heavy losses but also lost its king.

Upon hearing the news, the high priest remained silent for a moment before sighing and telling Sartu, "You did the right thing; let's forget about revenge for now. Atlantis cannot withstand any more turmoil. I leave the aftermath to you". Sartu nodded in agreement.
