Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Frederick Baltimore clenched his fist, his chest rising and falling with rage and ready to burst.

His entire shirt was covered in chicken soup.

His wife opened her mouth to speak, but he glared at her warningly, giving her an intense look that urged her to close her mouth.

His appetite was gone, and the joyous evening was ruined because of a stupid bastard who did not know his place no matter how hard he was punished.

The boy never showed any fear.

He was like weed in a maize field, always growing back no matter how much pesticides one poured over it.

"Father, you cannot allow him to continue treating us disrespectfully!" Xavier growled.

Fredrick's gaze was fixed on the fish resting on the table.

He already had an idea where the fish came from.

Xavier walked over to his father reminding him of Chase's impending freedom and said, "That worthless bastard has grown big-headed because he is graduating in three weeks."

He continued, "I heard him and his mother discussing how they were going to be moving out of this mansion in three weeks."

Frederick's expression twisted into a wave of lines as his eyes shot upward.

He could feel the chicken soup in his mouth turning sour.

In the past months, he had been so busy with the estate that he had forgotten the bastard was in his senior year.

However, Agness was not going anywhere.

It was going to be over his dead body.

She was supposed to labor in the Baltimore mansion until her last breath.

That was her punishment for opening her legs and giving birth to a Baltimore bastard that she had planned to out throw him with.

Without a word, he hurried out of the dining room and headed to his office, banging the door loud enough for everyone to know not to disturb him.

He had tolerated the bastard for far too long, and he was never supposed to let him see a university classroom.

But back then, Agnes had dared to sue him if her bastard was not going to get an education from his late father's money.

As a result, he was compelled to offer Chase the Baltimore scholarship for every grade level up to the university.

That was the only request the maid made after the death of the old man.

An education for her bastard son.

But she was not yet victorious. Seizing Agness's final hope in front of her was going to be an exciting and perfect revenge.

He pulled an untraceable phone from the drawer and pressed a number.

"It's time, make it look like an accident," he ordered and hung up the phone.

He then sent a photo of Chase to the same number and took out his favorite wine.

When morning finally came, Chase woke up full of excitement.

Last night when he had gotten back home, he found the useless Baltimores asleep.

Even though the day had started poorly, the evening proved to be productive.

He hated the scumbags and their stupid faces when he splattered the chicken soup on them, was going to live rent free in his head.

Glancing at his calendar, he drew a line across yet another day. Soon his mother was going to be free and he was going to give her the life she deserved.

He walked into the kitchen and found her busy setting the table for breakfast.

"Good morning, to the most beautiful woman in the world," he kissed her on the forehead.

Agnes seized his ear and firmly pinched it.

"Why are you so stubborn!" She yelled at him.

"Mom, that hurts. Oh, mom," Chase pleaded with her.

"Why did you throw the fish at them!" She asked. "Why do you have to dare them everytime? Who do you think is going to wash the chicken soup soaked clothes?"

Chase averted his eyes quickly, the Baltimores deserved worse.

"Chase, please, you have to stop this."

"Mom, the fish slipped out of my hand," her son lied. "But I promise I will be nice even when they spit on my face," he added.

Agnes punched him harder and quickly handed him a packed breakfast and some snacks.

She shoved him toward the door and yelled, "Get out of here before they wake up."

The less time her son spent in the mansion, the less trouble.

With a smile, Chase said his goodbye and burst into laughter.

As he ate his snacks, he walked out of the mansion and toward the road that led to the bridge.

That was how he usually ate his breakfast.

He was never permitted to eat at the Baltimore table, so his mother would prepare something before the Baltimores awoke and hand it to him on his way to university.

The arrangement never bothered him, It was not like he wanted to eat with them.

He made his way onto the bridge when his phone beeped.

He looked at his screen

It was Travis, reminding him they had a football game with the hospital staff in the afternoon.

Just as Chase was about to reply to the text, he heard screeching tires.

When he turned around it was already too late.

A car came at full speed and bashed him, sending him into the river below.

Everything was moving so fast, leaving Chase with no time to react as his body struck the water, hitting something that rendered his mind into a frozen state.

His eyes were wide open, but all he could do was watch as his body began to sink to the bottom of the river.
