Chapter 2 - Reunion of the Voidhearts

The room remained silent, save for the wind brushing against the windowpane. Rae stood by the tall obsidian window, arms crossed, staring out at the burning horizon of the Demon Kingdom.

His golden-crimson eyes gleamed as he thought.

What now? This world... it's mine to explore. So many paths. So many conquests. So many possibilities...

Heh. This is going to be fun.

A flicker passed through his mind. Not from his own life, but another. A surge of images. Faces. Voices. Echoes of another Rae.

"Big brother, will you come play later?"

"Your Highness, you must not strain yourself..."

"You're the pride of the Voidheart bloodline."

"The prince may be young, but he carries the flame of kings."

"You'll rule beside your father one day, Rae."

"Mother loves you more than words can say."

"Protect this realm, my prince."

Scenes flashed through his mind—laughing with Drakana in the gardens, training beside Velmira under a blood moon, being scolded by Malrik for falling asleep during war briefings, resting his head on Lilinora's lap as she hummed a lullaby, gazing up at Azaroth's towering presence as he taught him the meaning of power.

Rae blinked, taken aback. The flood of memories wasn't his, yet somehow... they were. The previous Rae Voidheart's memories.

He clutched his chest lightly.

These memories... They're from the old me. This body remembers. His family. His bonds. His dreams.

Don't worry, he thought. I'll protect them now. I'll carry your legacy further. I'll make this body greater than it ever was before.

Suddenly—

BANG!

The door burst open, crashing against the stone walls.

Rae turned, curious and calm.

There, in the doorway, stood a breathtaking woman—Lilinora Voidheart, the Demon Queen.

She was breathing hard, her moon-pale skin glowing under the light. Her long silver hair flowed behind her like a waterfall of silk. Her nebula-like eyes widened with disbelief.

"Rae..." she whispered.

Rae's lips curled into a warm, teasing smile.

"Hello, Mother."

Lilinora gasped, tears forming in her eyes. She took several steps forward, unfazed by the crushing aura surrounding her son.

"My beautiful boy... You came back stronger than death. I knew you would."

She wrapped her arms around him in an embrace only a mother could give—gentle, fierce, eternal.

Rae chuckled softly. "Wow, missed me that much? You must really love me. Gotta say... you're even more beautiful than I remember."

Lilinora blushed, her voice trembling. "I missed you for a hundred years, Rae. Do you know what that does to a mother's heart? But... this power. What is it?"

Rae gently petted her head while holding her close. "I missed you too. As for the power? Just a little awakening."

Lilinora's thoughts raced.

This power... it's unlike anything I've felt, even from Azaroth. My son... what have you become?

Then—

"BIG BROTHER! YOU'RE AWAKE!"

They both turned as the excited voice echoed through the hall.

Rae looked to the door and smiled.

A young girl sprinted in—short black-scaled horns, teal hair whipping behind her, dragon-like tail trailing her stride. Drakana Voidheart, the youngest sibling.

Ah, Rae thought, little sis. You've grown.

"Hey, Drakana," he greeted with a grin. "You've grown up into a beautiful little warrior."

She tackled him with a hug, tail wagging with joy.

"I missed you so much! I've been training every day since you went to sleep!"

Rae laughed. "I can tell. I'm proud of you. You're going to be a handful, huh?"

She smiled wide. "Wanna train together?! You gotta spar with me!"

Lilinora giggled softly. "Let your brother rest. He just woke up from a century-long sleep."

Drakana pouted. "Awww..."

Rae ruffled her hair. "Later, for sure. I want to see what you've learned."

She brightened instantly. "YAY! Big brother and me, demon-style training!"

Another voice joined them—cool, refined.

"So... the sleeping prince awakens."

They turned to see Velmira Voidheart, the second sister, step in with a knowing gaze. Her silver-plated armor glinted under the torchlight, arcane robes flowing like frostwind.

Rae nodded to her. "Velmira. Nice to see you again."

She tilted her head. "So? How was your hundred-year nap?"

Rae shrugged. "Long enough. But I'm up now."

"And that power?" she asked, narrowing her eyes. "It shook the entire kingdom."

Rae grinned. "What can I say? I guess I finally woke up."

A new voice rumbled through the room.

"The sleeping curse is awake."

Everyone turned again to see a towering figure step in.

Malrik Voidheart, the firstborn, crossed his arms, his battle tattoos glowing faintly.

Rae smirked. "Big brother Malrik."

Malrik raised an eyebrow. "That power… can't be yours. The Rae I remember was weak. Soft."

Tension rose instantly. Lilinora and the sisters were about to speak, but—

Rae laughed. A cold, amused laugh.

"I'm still that brother, Malrik. Just... a little stronger."

Malrik grinned savagely. "Then let's test it. Training grounds. 20 minutes."

Lilinora gasped. "Now is not the time—"

"Yeah! He just woke up!" Drakana added.

Velmira sighed. "This again..."

But Rae held up his hand.

His aura flared slightly. The floor beneath him cracked.

"I'm in. Let's see how strong you've become, big bro."

Rae's eyes flashed. "We'll see who's standing in the end."

Malrik turned and walked to the door. "See you in 20."

Rae grinned wide. "See you then, brother."

Rae stood in front of his mother and sisters, their eyes fixed on him.

He noticed their stares and smirked. "What?"

Lilinora crossed her arms, eyeing him with concern. "You're really going to fight Malrik right after waking up?"

Velmira nodded. "He's been training endlessly since you fell into that coma."

Drakana looked nervous. "Big bro, you just woke up... and Malrik fights like a monster."

Rae's grin widened. "Relax. I'll be fine. Just need a little exercise. My body feels a bit stiff."

His mother sighed. "Just be careful, Rae."

Velmira and Drakana exchanged glances before nodding. "Fine," Velmira said, "but don't overdo it."

"I won't," Rae said, then snapped his fingers.

A vortex of blackish-crimson aura erupted around him, spinning like a spiraling flame. When it dispersed, Rae stood in full battle attire:

– A black high-collared long coat with a split-back cloak, lined in crimson, arcane runes laced in the seams.

– Light armored shoulders with silver claw accents.

– The Voidheart crest emblazoned on the back in deep red.

– A dark gray combat shirt, flexible and reinforced.

– Black fingerless gloves with spell circles etched in the palms.

– Slim-fit black pants with crimson stitching and side belts.

– Obsidian leather boots with silver trims, enchanted for silence, and blood-red soles that leave no tracks unless he wills it.

– A Voidheart Ring on his right hand, and Nyxtheria's crescent-moon earrings glowing softly on both ears.

– A Choker Seal, a thin obsidian band around his neck that instantly suppressed 90% of his aura.

His power dipped slightly but remained overwhelming. He looked down at his outfit and chuckled.

"Damn. I look awesome."

His mother and sisters blinked in surprise.

Lilinora smiled gently. "You look regal... terrifyingly regal."

Velmira nodded. "That design... is that Nyxtheria's influence?"

Drakana clapped. "I want a coat like that!"

Rae smirked. "Let's go then, shall we?"

They nodded and followed him through the hallway.

As they walked, Rae thought to himself.

Time to test my strength. This body… it's ready. And who better to start with than my cocky brother?

A few minutes later, Rae arrived at the palace's massive training grounds. The arena was silent.

Across the field stood Malrik Voidheart, spear in hand, aura radiating in steady, crushing waves.

Malrik smirked. "So you came. I thought maybe you got scared."

Rae chuckled. "Nah. Just needed to pick the right outfit."

Lilinora, Velmira, and Drakana stood at the edge of the grounds, watching.

"Who do you think will win?" Velmira asked.

"It's hard to say," Lilinora replied. "One has trained for a century. The other... has surpassed the system."

Rae looked at Malrik and whispered, "Appraisal."

Rae raised an eyebrow and chuckled.

So that's what you've been up to.

"Hey, Malrik," Rae called out, "what the hell have you done to get this strong while I was napping?"

Malrik grinned. "Defeated three SS-rank adventurers in one war campaign. Held off an angelic siege for thirteen days. No food. No rest. Earned the title 'Black Spear of the Demon Army.'"

Rae clapped slowly. "Damn, big bro. That's impressive. I'm proud of you. You've done a lot while I was asleep."

Malrik laughed. "And you? You've been snoozing for a hundred years. Bet your body's still fragile."

Rae's smile turned feral. "Let's test that theory."

Malrik narrowed his eyes. "Ready, little brother?"

Rae's aura pulsed as his choker glowed. "Yeah. I'm ready."

They both met each other's gaze.

"Go!" they shouted.

Malrik vanished instantly. "Void Leap!"

Rae's grin stretched. "It begins now... First battle in this world as Demon Prince."

He laughed as his body moved into stance.

From the side of the training grounds, Lilinora, Velmira, and Drakana watched with wide eyes.

"He vanished!" Drakana gasped. "Did you see that?! Malrik just disappeared!"

"He used Void Leap," Velmira muttered, her gaze sharp. "Fast. Very fast."

Lilinora tensed. "Can Rae really handle this... right after waking up?"

In the arena, Rae stood perfectly still. His golden-crimson eyes calmly followed something only he could see. His irises shifted faintly, tracking movement invisible to most.

You're fast, Malrik, Rae thought with a grin. But to me... it's all moving in slow motion.

His lips curled wider.

"Your movements are fast," he said aloud, smirking, "but for me? They're slow."

Suddenly, Malrik appeared in front of Rae, spear swinging down like a thunderclap.

Rae grinned. "Nice try."

With a single sidestep, the spear missed entirely.

Malrik's eyes widened. "Tch! You were just lucky!"

He lunged again, lightning-fast. Rae ducked, twirled sideways, leaned just barely backward, the spear tip missing his neck by inches.

How is he...! Malrik thought, gritting his teeth.

He spun, jabbing at Rae's midsection. Rae twirled to the side, the wind of the spear brushing past him.

"Oof, almost!" Rae teased, his grin never fading.

Malrik growled, sweat forming on his brow.

Damn it. Every angle. Every combo. He's dodging it all.

He went into a rapid combo—thrust high, swing low, spin behind, feint left and slash right.

Rae's movements were fluid. His body bent like wind, feet sliding across the arena in perfect balance. He ducked beneath a slash, spun backward from a thrust, and leaned sideways as the spear grazed by his ear.

"Not bad, but predictable," Rae commented.

How... how can someone who's been asleep for a hundred years read all my moves?! Malrik thought, frustration surging in his chest. I've fought archmages, warlords, beast kings—and I can't hit my brother?!

Rae dodged a spinning thrust and sidestepped another furious lunge, letting out a soft chuckle.

This body is amazing. It's like it was made for battle. I can feel every shift, every move. I'm barely trying and this is already the best fight of my life.

Malrik snarled. "You can't dodge forever!"

Rae smirked. "Then stop missing, big brother. Don't complain—just hit me."

Malrik jumped backward, spear glowing in his hand.

"You're right. Enough toying around. I should destroy you."

Rae spread his arms with a grin. "Bring it on, brother."

Malrik's eyes narrowed, then gleamed with fury and excitement.

"Your funeral, brother!!"

He spun his spear, its edges sparking, and shouted:

"Domain of War: Blacksteel Arena!"

The air distorted. The sky dimmed.

Scenery warped into a war-battered hellscape—twisted steel towers, shattered black stone, floating debris frozen in gravitational flux. The battlefield had changed.

Rae blinked, then smiled. "Okay... that's new."

Lilinora gasped. "That skill... he activated Blacksteel Arena?!"

"He's serious," Velmira muttered, face pale.

"Malrik, STOP! This isn't a tournament!" Drakana cried.

But Malrik grinned menacingly, stepping into battle stance.

"Little brother should've stayed asleep."

With a snarl, he dashed toward Rae, aura flaring like a sun collapsing in on itself.

"YOU'RE DEAD!" he roared.

"Spear Enchantment – Thunder Edge!"

Lightning crackled down the shaft of the spear, surging with furious sparks.

The weapon pierced forward—aimed directly at Rae's heart.

Lilinora and the sisters screamed in panic.

"RAE!!"

Time froze.

Rae raised his hand casually.

"Nice try, brother."

"Time Distortion – Slow Down."

The world slowed to a crawl.

Malrik's movement became sluggish, his eyes widening in surprise.

W-what... what's going on? he thought. Why can't I move right? My body—it's like I'm stuck in water!

Electricity still sparked in slow motion. The tip of his spear shimmered with caged energy.

This… this is time magic… No! He's slowing everything down?! Since when?!

Rae smiled. "Let me show you something."

He stepped behind Malrik and gently placed a hand on his back.

"Gravity Fall."

A deep pulse echoed.

Malrik's body was instantly yanked downward.

BOOM!

His body slammed into the ground like a meteor.

Lightning from his enchanted spear struck the earth, sending a bolt of blue-white energy crackling upward into the sky. The clouds rumbled from the force.

A massive crater formed where Malrik landed, cracks spidering out across the arena.

Time resumed.

Dust burst out in a shockwave.

The Blacksteel Arena trembled.

Malrik groaned, pinned to the ground.

Lilinora, Velmira, and Drakana were frozen.

"W-What just happened...?" Drakana whispered.

"That was... time magic and gravity..." Velmira said breathlessly.

Lilinora's hand clutched her chest. "Those spells aren't just advanced—they're forbidden-level..."

Malrik's voice was strained as he tried to rise. "H-How... What did you do to me?!"

Rae stood calmly. "Time Distortion slowed your world. Then I just gave you a nudge—gravity did the rest."

"No way..." Velmira whispered.

"He made it look easy," Lilinora said in disbelief.

Malrik roared in thought: HOW?! How is my weak little brother doing this to me?! How is he making me feel like... like I'm NOTHING?!

He pushed himself off the ground, trembling with fury.

"You'll pay for this!"

Rae laughed. "Oh? How will you do that, big bro?"

Malrik's aura ignited.

"Like this—GRAVITY CROWN: TITANFALL MODE!!"

The sky above swirled. His body began to shift.

Black armor formed from compressed gravity particles, layered across his limbs like obsidian plates. Red glowing runes etched themselves into the surface.

His height increased. Shoulders broadened. His spear transformed, growing longer, denser—its edges trailing voidflame.

Wings of gravitational distortion flared from his back like ghostly armor.

His eyes—two pits of molten gold ringed with black gravity rings.

The pressure made the arena walls creak.

"He's changing...!" Velmira gasped.

"That's Titanfall Mode!" Lilinora shouted.

Drakana's eyes were wide. "He's going full monster!"

Malrik raised his colossal spear. A vortex of power spun around him like a black hole.

"I'M COMING FOR YOU, LITTLE BROTHER!!"

Rae smirked and dropped into stance.

"Bring it on, big brother."

Malrik launched forward like a living missile, his gravity-enhanced body shaking the entire battlefield.

Rae watched him come, calmly tracking his every move.

But then—

The air around Rae distorted. The gravity intensified. Pebbles lifted from the ground, his coat tails rose, and his boots cracked the ground beneath him.

Heh, Rae thought, so Titanfall Mode alters the gravitational field around him… impressive. It's like standing inside a collapsing star.

But even as the gravity crushed down on him, Rae didn't falter. His smirk held.

But it's not enough to stop me.

On the sidelines, Lilinora, Velmira, and Drakana gasped.

"Stop this now!" Lilinora shouted.

"This isn't a battle anymore—it's becoming dangerous!" Velmira added.

"Big brother, you'll kill him!" Drakana cried.

But Rae glanced their way and smiled. "No problem."

Malrik roared. "YOU'RE DONE!

Ultimate Technique – EVENT HORIZON PIERCE!!"

He thrust forward, spear howling with cosmic force.

Rae leaned aside gently.

The spear missed.

Malrik's eyes burned. "EVENT HORIZON PIERCE!!"

He struck again.

Missed.

Again.

And again.

Rae dodged each blow with a tilt, a slip, a flicker of motion. Effortless. Calm. Deadly.

How is he still dodging?! Malrik raged in thought. I'm in Titanfall Mode! My gravity aura should paralyze him! He shouldn't be able to MOVE!

"RAAAAAHHHH! STOP LAUGHING!!" Malrik screamed.

Rae laughed louder. "You're dancing for me, big bro!"

Lilinora and the sisters stood frozen.

"He's... moving inside Titanfall Mode?" Velmira whispered.

"That's... supposed to crush anything near Malrik!" Drakana shouted.

"How is Rae doing this?!" Lilinora asked, stunned.

Malrik growled, sweat flying from his face.

"FINE THEN! Let's see you dodge THIS!!"

He raised his colossal spear.

"Ultimate Move: TITAN SPEAR OMEGA — EVENT TERMINUS!!!"

Lightning tore through the sky as the spear glowed red-black, the very atmosphere distorting.

Malrik lunged.

"RAE!!!"

The spear surged forward.

Rae stood still.

Just before contact—Malrik altered his trajectory.

The spear veered—SLASH!

Rae's arm flew through the air.

A shockwave burst across the battlefield.

Rae didn't flinch. Blood dripped from where his right arm had been.

Lilinora, Velmira, and Drakana screamed.

"RAE!!"

"Your arm!"

"No!!"

Malrik, eyes crazed, laughed manically.

"LOOK AT YOU! You lost your ARM!!"

Rae didn't turn around.

"Nothing to say, little brother?!" Malrik howled. "What's so funny now?!"

Rae slowly turned... grinning.

"Who said I lost it?"

Malrik blinked. "...What?"

Rae raised his bleeding stump.

"Dark Regrowth."

Black-red tendrils of energy surged outward, weaving bone, flesh, and sinew back into place. In seconds—his arm was back.

Fully healed.

He flexed it.

"All better."

The Voidheart women gasped.

"He... regrew it...?" Velmira stuttered.

"What magic is this...?" Lilinora whispered.

"That's insane..." Drakana muttered.

Malrik's eyes widened in horror.

He... he just regenerated his arm?! What IS he?!

"WHAT ARE YOU?!" Malrik screamed.

Rae laughed. "I'm just OP, big bro."

"WHAT?!"

"Nothing. Let's finish this."

FWOOM!

Rae vanished.

Malrik spun. "Where?! Where'd he—?!"

"I'm behind you."

Rae's voice whispered from the wind.

Malrik turned—Rae stood inches behind him, inside the gravity field like it was nothing.

"My turn."

BOOM!

Rae's fist slammed into Malrik's chest.

The impact sent Malrik flying—skidding across the ground, bouncing like a stone across a lake.

He hit the far arena wall with a thunderous CRACK, the stone caving in.

Dust exploded. Smoke curled.

Silence.

Lilinora, Velmira, and Drakana stood frozen.

The smoke cleared.

Malrik was embedded in the wall, unconscious. His armor flickered—then vanished. Titanfall Mode released.

Rae exhaled and stretched his arms.

"Well. I guess I won the mock battle."

His mother and sisters didn't respond. They stared, slack-jawed.

"That... just happened..." Velmira murmured.

"He beat Malrik... in Titanfall Mode...?" Lilinora said, breathless.

"Big bro is terrifying," Drakana whispered.

They looked toward Rae's spot—

But he wasn't there.

Lilinora blinked. "Where did he—"

"How was I?"

Rae was beside her, arms crossed, smiling.

They jumped.

"WHAT ARE YOU?!" all three exclaimed.

Rae chuckled.

"I'm the Demon Prince... Rae Voidheart."

He laughed.

Rae stood beside his stunned mother and sisters, dust still floating in the aftermath of the battle. Lilinora was the first to speak.

"How did you do that...?" she whispered.

"Yeah..." Velmira added, blinking. "How are you even real...?"

Drakana stared wide-eyed. "You just tanked Titanfall Mode and came out smirking! What the heck, big bro?!"

Rae smiled, rubbing the back of his neck with a mock-innocent shrug. "Maybe the coma rebirthed me into a badass?"

All three women groaned.

"Typical Rae," Velmira said.

"Only you would joke after bodying Malrik," Lilinora sighed.

"I still think he's secretly an ancient dragon in disguise," Drakana mumbled.

Rae turned his attention to the cratered wall, where Malrik still hung unconscious.

He exhaled. "Let me help him."

FWOOSH!

He vanished.

Seconds later, he appeared in front of Malrik, gently grabbing his brother's unconscious body.

You're a pain, big bro, Rae thought. But you've still got that pride. I hope you'll be a good brother someday.

He pulled him from the wall, slung him over his shoulder, and vanished again.

In a blink, he reappeared beside his family, gently setting Malrik down.

Lilinora rushed to his side. "He needs a doctor!"

"Let me try something first," Rae said softly.

He held his hand over Malrik's chest. His palm glowed with abyssal light.

"Soul Mend."

A warm dark light surrounded Malrik, mending internal wounds, muscle strain, and aura tears.

Velmira watched, astonished. "You healed him... just like that."

Drakana gasped. "That's... not just healing. That's soul repair. That's ancient magic!"

Lilinora blinked. "Where did you learn that...?"

Malrik stirred. His eyes fluttered open.

"Ugh... what happened..."

Drakana leaned forward. "You lost, big bro. Rae beat you... then healed you."

Malrik's eyes widened.

Lost...? I... lost? To my brother? The one who was in a coma 30 minutes ago? How...? How did he beat me like that? How did he... overpower me so easily?!

Rae smiled, offering his hand. "You okay, big brother?"

Malrik stared at the hand. After a moment, he got up on his own. He didn't take it.

He walked past Rae, silent.

I'll get stronger. I'll get my revenge. I swear it, he thought, huffing.

"See you around, big brother," Rae said, watching him go with a smile.

Lilinora looked at Rae. "You really are something else, my son."

Velmira sighed. "That power... it's not even demonic anymore."

Drakana smiled. "You're the coolest Demon Prince ever."

Rae was about to reply when he suddenly paused. He turned slightly.

"Hello, Father."

The three women turned, startled.

Azaroth Voidheart stood at the edge of the training field—tall, armored in obsidian-black plates infused with crimson fire, long burning hair flowing like a demon comet. His gold-slit eyes glowed beneath his black crown.

"Azaroth...!" Lilinora said, stunned.

"Father's here...?" Velmira said.

"Uh-oh..." Drakana whispered.

Azaroth's voice was calm, commanding. "I see you've awakened from your coma, Rae."

Rae nodded. "Yep. Figured a hundred-year nap was enough."

Azaroth stared at him. "Indeed... and from what I've observed, you made quite the impression."

Rae smirked. "Did you enjoy the show, Father?"

The Demon King gave a rare smile. "Let's talk later, Rae."

Rae bowed his head slightly. "Of course. See you then."

Azaroth vanished in a wisp of burning shadow.

The women stood frozen.

"Why does he want to talk to you...?" Lilinora murmured.

"That's not normal..." Velmira said.

"He never says that unless it's serious!" Drakana added.

Rae chuckled. "Probably wants to know how I got so OP. Can't blame him."

Lilinora looked into his eyes. "Are you alright, son?"

Rae smiled softly. "I'm fine. Let's go back inside, shall we?"

They all nodded.

"Yeah," Velmira agreed.

"I'm starving," Drakana added.

Together, they left the training field.

Later...

In the heart of the Abyss Throne Room, obsidian flames flickered against a massive infernal throne.

Two stood alone: Azaroth Voidheart and his son.

Azaroth's voice rumbled like distant war drums. "Let's get straight to the point."

Rae raised a brow. "Alright, Father. What is it?"

Azaroth's eyes burned brighter.

"Who are you?"

Rae smiled.
